hi thankyou for making vidoes like this and the other one which is getting mac os elcapitan in 2023 Just wanna ask sir bcoz i have Imac late 2009 os x lion 10.7.5 .. am i able to skip el capitan and upgrade directy to high sierra?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. You can't upgrade to High Sierra directly from Lion. You'll have to upgrade to an intermediate version like 10.10 Yosemite or 10.11 El Capitan first, then upgrade from that to High Sierra. That said, High Sierra lost support a few years back, so it won't be as secure.
Hi! I’m trying this command on an old macbook air with mountain lion as macos and it doesn’t work. Do you know if I should write a different command since the os is too old?
I think it should work since you’re basically pointing it to another file that runs the command. Are you wanting to make a flash drive to wipe and upgrade this computer or are you not able to upgrade this machine?
Well I’m not really sure xD the MacBook I have can’t reach safari or AppStore since it is too old. What I want is to upgrade the computer trough the terminal soo that I can use it, but I don’t know if it’s even possible
I know that my MacBook is “qualified” for Catalina, I know that I need to start by downloading earlier versions like sierra but don’t really know how to get it installed
Ok. You would just need to upgrade to 10.11 and then you can go directly to 10.15. That would probably be the easiest. I did a video about how to get the 10.11 upgrader. That might help you. ua-cam.com/video/gUqXmNgxuBg/v-deo.html
Hi, I only can use terminal and is there a command to install the downloaded .app I mean instead of double clicking the downloaded file in applications through GUI.
Oh yeah you just use the open app Terminal command with the name of the app in quotation marks: open ~a "NAME_OF_APP" So if you're trying to upgrade to Sonoma and already have the Sonoma installer downloaded your command would be: open ~a "Install macOS Sonoma"
@@EasyOSX Having trouble installing macOS Ventura from 12 7 3 When using 'sudo open /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Ventura.app', I get the error: 'The application cannot be opened for an unexpected reason, error=Error Domain=RBSRequestErrorDomain Code=5 ... Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated!
Hmm, that looks like it might be a permissions or code-signing error. I'd recommend deleting the installer and redownloading a fresh copy first. Another thing to test is if you can open another app using this method, something simple like use the command to open TextEdit or Safari and see if it opens or gives you the same error. Want to make sure it's just an issue with the one "app" rather than, say, a larger system problem
thank you a lot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@bibinthomasa3306 what does it do when you run the command? And which OS version are you trying to do this with?
