A centre part would be the centre of the triangle. God I hope I’m making sense). Pull the rest of you hair back into a pony. Then pull the front triangle of hair back. That way you can really focus on slicking it the way you want it. Watch an Annabelle Hooper video for a better explanation. She helped me nail it.
