I prefer these state nomination than employer sponsored. There are so many things that can go wrong with Employer Sponsored and let's just be honest, the employer holds you by the balls for at least two years. Problem with State Sponsored I noticed is, the occupation list is very limited. Choose your poison. LOL

491 is ok compared to 190, and each state picks their favoured occupations, so there’s that. Whereas 482/186 does have complexity, government clearly wants to grant visas to people who have demonstrated their commitment to truly assist the economy by working. Not to say people holding 190/491/189/155/157 don’t, just saying foreseeable tax revenue is a bit more attractive than “maybe that level” of tax revenue, if that makes sense.

I don’t think the extra points from state nominations matters as long as u already have 65 points since everyone who apply wld be getting the points thus making no difference for ur position

190 state offshore applicants are still waiting for their grants since october/november/december visa lodgements. It is a very pathetic situation for those who chose state nominations because it came before 189 nomination by chance and even they were having higher points too.

189 is not much better than 190 in terms of processing times, unless your occupation is one of those blessed ones. No one knows how DOHA truly handles those applications. Everyone is waiting just as anxious as you.

This is the 2nd year that the migration quotas for each state had been delayed. Seems that this Govt do not have the urgency and is causing the delay of urgently needed skilled workers.
