So excited for frank to start uploading more consistently! His content never disappoints! Also frank, I think a 100% gold Ironman suit would be so cool
Very cool! I really like the one you did with the silver, it’d stand out better in photographs I think, even though the red one is more screen accurate.
I was wondering if it'd be possible to do a partial shell of the mask with the pattern in it so you could just set it on top of the mask and paint it and then lift it off. If it followed the contours, maybe it'd be easier to get more consistent patterns? Not sure how well it'd turn out though since the pattern is pretty fine detailed.
Hey Frank. Wondering if you could do an inverse alpha channel in something like photoshop, save it as an .svg or png file (whatever meshmixer takes) then go into meshmixer and apply that onto the stl. So now the pattern is embedded into the stl as a "deeper cut". Then even with sanding you can see whatever pattern you want. Honestly doesn't have to be inverse alpha. Could be just an alpha. I'm embedding my stem students names in wakanda font into a black banther helmet im printing like that... then while painting the deeper areas will have that darker tint from the metalcast.
Hello, firstly just want that I'm a big fan, all your videos really inspired me so I've saved up almost enough for a printer. I did some research and I'm thinking about going for the Ender 3 Max. I would really appreciate your opinion on the printer and whether or not I should buy it, and any upgrades I should install. Also I'm thinking of going with the Walsh 3d helmet just not sure how to motorize it.
Hey thank you for all your work and content i really enjoy it. And have you tried or ever wanted to try a anicubic cobra max me and my dad are looking to get one and i would love to see you review it.
Frank is the nanotech pattern really only seen under a light flashing on it directly or it pretty noticeable from any angle. Or did u just want it to not completly standout too much where u can see it from everywhere
You’ve Certainly inspired me to buy a 3D printer and dabble in this hobby. I’d love to see you try this using a Cricut machine you could make amazing stencils and decals
That's so cool! Definitely going to try this out. It looks great. I was wondering those things around your neck are they earbuds? Idk I was just curious lol 😆
Hi, been enjoying your videos. I have recently printed the MK85 helmet and am ready for paint. I am in the UK and unsure which red to go for, any pointers? Thanks
Hey Frank what’s the greyish silver you use on your iron man suit and helmets? I know the rustoleum gold and duplicolor metal cast red but i don’t know the dark grey. The Nano tech look is really nice tho might have to add it to mine when I’m done painting. Thanks!
Hey Frank, I’ve been here since you had only a few hundred subs … and proud of being here when you were back in my old homeland :) Question for you, you’ve mentioned it before, butti don’t think you’ve ever covered a painting tutorial. Yes, you’ve done great prep work tutorials, but I cannot recall one you’ve done about HOW to layer paint to get that amazing finish. If you have the time, and the heat permits, could you consider doing one at some point? Cheers from Vancouver!
Hey man thank you!I did do a painting tutorial a while back actually. Each project is different so I can’t really do a big inclusive one. To many variables
@@FranklyBuilt My apologies mate - I found it strange it wasn’t covered …. Mind posting a link or the name so I can find it …. Must be getting too old for this :)
Question in what order do you do the helmet like at what point do you do the gunmetal grey parts, do you do it last or do you do it first then mask it off then do the metal cast on top of the gold
That looks really cool - I noticed sometimes the pattern wasn't completely uniform - would printing a larger stencil and taping sections down be an option to prevent that?
I love all the videos and information, but I've got a question about something unrelated. It looks like you have a bone conducting headset. How do you like it and how's it sound?
Oi you stole my bone conducting head phone things. Gimme back. Amazing helmet, I am trying to print my own smellmet, but i have no clue on how to actually finish it. With the making it smooth or painting the dang thing
hey, im in a project that takes plastic water bottles, and turns them into filament. Its called re-creator 3d and we have a discord as well. I'm reaching out in behalf of josh the owner to see if you want to work with us. We also plan on selling a kit down the line to help make it easy to recycle yourself. think you would be willing to reach out to set something up?
Why not just cut it into a masking film, like frisket film for example. Then apply, spray and remove in one go? No need to realign or worry about over spray and hard lines.
@@FranklyBuilt only if you don't have a plotter or a sticker shop around to cut it for you. Just an idea honestly. Regardless love the work. Just printed a mk39 and mando using your setup videos

That’s such a cool method! Really neat to see the use of the Flexible Pla vs TPU and testing the paint over the clear coat
I did carbon fiber on my original Ironman foam suit with silver gloss paint and it came out so good.
Thank you for making videos like this because of your videos I've learned how to battle damage one of my mandalorian helmets
That pattern is looking absolutely CRISP, keep up the good work!
Wow Frank that video was awesome thanks for sharing with us I can't wait to try it out 👍
Thank you for your vids. Make them as long as you want. Love it.
Keep up the great work and I love the vids you make
I love these vids I'm about to get my own 3d printer can't wait

using a cricut to cut the pattern on sticker paper might be easier to handle and keep the bleeding down.
Sticker paper is too strong. Removable vinyl is what you want :)
Yeah removable vinyl is what you want tho I have a cricut it works good for rattlecan spray paint
Nope
Nicely done Banksy! 😅
COOL!!! Thanks!
Dang that guy is pretty awesome.
I think hydrodipping will be perfect for this.
I’m always learning from you💪. Let’s Go
You're Super Talented bro

Another great video Frank, I might try to get my suit hydro dipped in carbon fiber
Nice!! I can see this working perfect with a vinyl plotter ..hmmmm
Will you upload a motorizing tutorial for your walsh 3d mark 85 file? I really want to know how to make the bottom lip motorized

I think that you should make the bottom lip plate on the helmet open like it does in the movie
Hey thank you for all your work and content i really enjoy it. And have you tried or ever wanted to try a anicubic cobra max me and my dad are looking to get one and i would love to see you review it.
Ya I’m curious have you ever or will you ever try using the cobra max. And can you give us a honest review.

They’re called Bone Phones. They’re awesome
So, do you think Ataraxia flexible PLA is better than TPU man? I wonder if it is easier to post process.
Awesome

I have a few videos showing the reds I used while in the UK actually

I do the largest color first
That’s such a cool design you should make zooms helmet from the flash universe
I would love to see a chrome tutorial
That looks really cool - I noticed sometimes the pattern wasn't completely uniform - would printing a larger stencil and taping sections down be an option to prevent that?
Yep! Absolutely. I wanted to focus on showing the process. It’ll be up to the user to refine it for themselves if that makes
Sense
Now, what primer do you use?
awesome job! did you ever get that airbrush to work? i would of thought it would be perfect for a stencil job like this
whatever works works tho right!
Could you do a Marshmello helmet. I would love that and I’m looking for a really good 3d printed one, but no one has done one.
Which 3d printer do you use?
Are you ever going to make walsh_3ds ant- man helmet?
Hey by any chance have u made any transformers helmets/heads?
If not could you make some.
Very well done I hope I can do a video with you please
What clear coat do you use after duplicolor 1k?
The Duplicolor 1k is a clear coat
Dang bro! you make this AAAART! I am loving it man! I am bout to say Feck Batman and Dr. Fate and build my Ironman. Lol!
Hey as a future project can you make ODM gear for Attack on Titan
This is basically how custom car painters do the lace patterns. Would work a lot easier if you had a vinyl cutter to create the pattern
I love all the videos and information, but I've got a question about something unrelated. It looks like you have a bone conducting headset. How do you like it and how's it sound?
I love it so far. I use it mostly when I’m on my OneWheel or somewhere I need to hear my surroundings too
I wonder how he got his cr 10 printers I can’t find them anywhere the really big ones are just so hard to come across
Did you check creality's official website?
Oh hi, Frank!
Love the design you should try it on your iron man mandalorian helmet
I like this idea
can you do a Darth Revan helmet
That looks so good Are you mostly self taught
Yep! Completely
I am Ethan’s friend that subscribed to you last night
Thank you!
The paint is like a candy color they use on cars

Please built pepper suit 🙏
You should make a moon night suit
the best part of the vid is @4:06

I have multiple haha

its crazy how orange the mask looked while painting it but then later in the video is looks very red.
Yeah the lighting in my attic made it look VERY orange
Can I order one Iron man suit from you? When yes, how much does it cost?
No I’m sorry
Can you say why?
I don’t make and sell suits to people
At least I tried.
Anyone else notice the gold looking iron man thingy at 14:28 or am I looking too much into things lol
….shhhhh 😏
Now we have to do Easter egg breakdowns of Frank's videos. 😆
Why not just cut it into a masking film, like frisket film for example. Then apply, spray and remove in one go? No need to realign or worry about over spray and hard lines.
That would probably be significantly more work rather then just moving the stencil around I think

I think this channel has 5k subs when I found it.
