Noticing these changes is one of the best things about building Blender from source! Also, this is gonna be a great way of making clouds procedurally, and faking smoke without a simulation... and a lot of other stuff! Very exciting.
Exciting times! With mesh to volume, volume to mesh, then these displacement things makes work that much more fun. Might not be nodes, but it certainly is very useful.
i would love to have access to material nodes from those displacement modifiers both standard and volume to make cool math blending or boolean operations to have more control on it like lee griggs work for exemple but for medical animation it could be helpfull too leegriggs.com/volume-mesh
Hey. Having some trouble with this. Every time I try to add the cloud texture it doesn't really effect the look of the cloud. Anyone got a solution? Could really use some help. Thanks
@@StevenScott_studio53 No it's not like that. The inside of the volume gets blocky when the volume displacement modifier is used. Up the voxel amount of that mesh to volume modifier and it will get more obvious.
@@gurratell7326 hmm could be a bug or something that displacement is doing... but if its a visual thing generally you need to up the samples in the render options!

@@NicolasRouelle Yes.. if only the shader editor could write to displacement textures.... we would be limitless then.
"modifiah" cit 😂
I love your accent man (and your helpful channel)
Yes, this can be done with nodes, but having watched an hour-long tutorial to achieve a similar effect, I can say this is a preferable approach.
Hi, is there any way we can control area of displacement using vertex groups?

The modifiers are not showing up for me. How can I solve it?
Got to love it when the volume shows nothing. I guess there is a size limit dunno.
Glasgow?
I miss the Scottish accent ;) Nice channel mate.
Thanks! 😃
Do you have the same blocky render errors when rendering this in Cycles? It's kinda unusable as it is now tbh :\
up your volumetric tile size and samples
