The fact that the tree didn't die back is a great thing. I think you're right - it should be quite happy this year. Sometimes I wish I had X-ray vision to see what's actually happening with the roots. Gently removing the dead needles will minimize pathogen spread in case the pine is still under the weather. Fingers crossed!
My guess is it'll keep living, but need another year. reminds me of collected pines I have which just need a year untouched to let the roots grow comfortably again, then after that the buds pop properly.

I mess up plenty of deciduous 😅😅 I have a few black pine seedling's so I'll be referring back to this series.
hahah just leave the deciduous alone and they will regrow and correct themselves. you can say in 10 years it was done on purpose!

yeah exactlty, i think that is what is going on. should be fine now its had time to cry/ regrow roots.

Hello. For the pots, it would be cheaper to use baskets for aquatic plants. It exists in many different sizes and formats. And it doesn't rust.
these are stainless steel, so shouldn't rust ... if they do. they where 28 pence lol
