    Huge thanks for all the helpful videos DaBinChe. I've also read a number of your forum posts elsewhere. Yesterday, I installed the 4.00x10 rear tire. I was happy to see my top speed went up to about 54-55 mph on flat ground with no draft. Today, I installed a set of Dr. Pulley 18mmx14mm, 15-gram sliders and my top speed dropped back to around 50-51 mph on the same stretch of road. Tire pressure is good, and bike is serviced and in tip top mechanical shape. You seem to know a lot about this scooter. Any advice on getting more speed out of this Elite? Maybe heavier weights?

      +brandun999 I for get what the stock roller weight is but I hear that with dr.pully sliders you have to go a tad lighter then stock....just have to play with it. I prefer stock rollers cause they last a long time and are cheap compared to the DP

    Hi, love your videos, do you use the oem variator or another one when replacing it?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  7 місяців тому

      OEM. Variators wear with belt so both have to be replaced at the same time. I put on too many miles to use aftermarket. Besides as far as I know there is no aftermarket one for this scooter

    hi i read some of the comments below, i hav a 2010 lead/elite 110 , i keep maxing out at 48mph , i took apart the variator 1 day and cleaned every thing up , my belt looks good n fresh still , the rollers look abit faded in color but pretty round .. when i put i back together i think i set the torque to 70 ft /lb , and i get 46 now some time 48.. i also read that u was saying smaller wheel diameter affects speed also, my rear is 100/80 10 which i think is abit smaller. i was thinking of ordering a new belt and variator weights , what do u think, do u think change the wheel size 1st?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  8 років тому

      +Kay Tu yeah that smaller diameter wheel will slow you down...it is good for acceleration and up hill but sucks for anything else. I use a Molas ML16 4"x10" a little larger in diameter then stock so that tops out at 55mph if my drive (belt/rollers) is completely new

    Great video, it helps to know what to expect going into the drive system. I found both my clutch area and my starter had a lot of brake shoe type material from the clutch and I blew it out and it should not chatter when you start from a stop. I can not figure how to remove and change the headlight bulb could you do one on that?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  8 років тому

      take off the mirrors, I think there are 5 screws that hold the plastic front&rear headlight body work. Once the screws are off you have to unsnap the bodywork from each other and the front will come off along with the headlight assembly. Unplug the wire harness, slide back the rubber boot, unclip the wire retainer holding the bulb. Remember not to touch the glass on the new bulb or it will burn out and crack shortly after install. If you do touch it clean it with alcohol.

  • @DaBinChe
    @DaBinChe  12 років тому

    The drive belt width is 18.5mm new and the service limit is 17.5mm. I don't remember what the length of the belt is, but it should be on the belt itself.

    Great videos. Which model of Makita impact driver are you using for this job?Although I am getting a good top speed (about 60mph with a slight tailwind) I have noticed the uphill performance is starting to reduce. I suspect the engine revs are slightly less resulting in reduced power under heavy load. What fault in the transmission system would cause this?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  5 років тому

      It is an older Makita driver with 3 power settings. When it first came out it was their top model.
      Anytime you gear taller (higher top speed) you lose the shorter (more acceleration/hill climb) gearing. So tune according to your needs. I'm light weigth and don't do much stop/go so I gear taller. My extra/back up scoot is geared lowered top speed by 2-3mph so it is great for hill climbing, stop/go, and carrying more weight.

      I was hoping to find a Makita impact driver that like yours has the correct torque settings. I already have an 18v Makita drill and there seem to be about four models of 18v impact drivers. They all seem to just quote max torque. Also only the expensive versions indicate that they can cope with greater than M16 size of socket.
      My concern with the transmission setting is that when new the balance was just right so I was wondering what might have changed to reduce acceleration/hill climbing performance. I had assumed that the slight increase in top speed was the engine running in but perhaps it is the setting changing. What adjustment do you recommend?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  5 років тому

      @@nigelcharles511 For more top speed and better acceleration/hill climb use 12.5g Dr.Pulley sliders.
      For the impact wrench I'll go with the one that has the power level adjustment. The owners manual will say how much torque each setting has.

      Thanks for your quick response. My real question was what could have changed with the original setup (which was good) to need a change of pulley sliders? Presumably you get these sliders from Honda dealers or is there a better source?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  5 років тому

      @@nigelcharles511 The Dr. Pulley (12.5gram) sliders makes it a little quicker in acceleration and hill climb as well as give a couple mph more top speed. Sliders are different from rollers.

    There is no governer washer on the variator. The NHX110 is limited electronically via a rev limiter

I purchase only original honda parts as welll whats the problem with my nhx : /

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  9 років тому

      Selcuk Inan the yo-yo sensation is the rev limiter, I change the belt early at 10k to preempt belt problems

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  9 років тому

      Selcuk Inan also the yo-yo sensation is an indication that the belt is about too go as is the case with your scoot

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  9 років тому

      Selcuk Inan I also see that you asked about it two weeks ago and I told you to check your drive. Turns out I was right it was your drive. Sometimes but not always before the belt goes it'll give you some feed back and it is up to you to take care of it ASAP.

    • @selcukinan4696
      @selcukinan4696 9 років тому

      Ive changed the belt and variator and clutch shoes and its still doing the same thing it goes back and forward when youre going with whatever speed... it does it for few minutes then it stops then it comes back, and bon appetitr with the snake!

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  9 років тому

      Selcuk Inan Still sounds like the drive to me if it is hitting the rev limiter before top speed. If it hits the rev limiter around top speed then it is normal. Top seed, stock w/all new drive parts, could be anywhere from 48-53mph. Is the belt, weights and variator new? Any one of these parts can cause it to hit the rev limiter before top speed if worn even if the other parts are new. Rollers OEM? Take a marker and mark the face of the drive towards the higher gearing. Ride around and see how high the belt rides up the varitaor by how much of the mark is left. There should be about 2-3mm before the edge, that is top speed/gearing.
      Also is your tire size stock? If you are using a tire with a smaller diameter you are gearing too low and it will hit the rev limiter before top speed.

    not soft spots, flat spots. If there is a flat spot on the rollers then it's near time to chage it.
