What makes me furious is that many think that he is just a technical freak who lacks feel and soul and only loves to shredd. They can't be more wrong. Just because he uses a different software than Kevin Moore doesn't mean he lacks Moores taste for emotion and underlying themes. He can be exactly as soulful as Moore if he wants to and he has showed it more often than not during his 20 years in Dream Theater (The Best Of Times, The Spirit Carries On, Through Her Eyes, Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence, the whole Astonishing album). The fact that some people refuse to see that is beyond me. It clearly shows that they only hear what they want to hear and that they're trying to find errors that aren't there just because they're still pissed over the fact that Kevin Moore left.
@@martinfalk8597 See Martin, this is exactly my problem with those people, the only conclusion I had to come to was that these folks always very ignorantly criticising Jordan are just either a very disingenuous hater or just musically inept. Now I just ignore them anytime I see their comments.
Best mother fucking Keyboardist ever. If ANYONE ever disagrees they don't listen to all of his music. He has nearly mastered Prog Metal, Prog Rock, Metal, Rock, Classic, Orchestra, Jazz, Jazz Fusion, and many many more. This man literally knows every genre on the back of his hand and can play it with ease.
I love his sexy but sinaster glare to his fans (not sure how many) as he tinkle the large keyboard playing a run so fast you cannot be but amazed and spellbound. He learned this style while attending Julliard School of the Arts at age 9 no doubt. Seriously, check his bio which is everywhere!! The art world could not wait to grab him to give us this prodigy. Thanks you Jules school for the comedy too!
@@aweso100 wait, that's just pentatonic scale? I mean like the first part I'd agree cause it's basically just guitar pentatonic shredding I can recognize, but the second part?! That beautiful playing?
@@siccbastard4580 Yes. There are many types of pentatonic scales. He happened to be using a very open sounding pentatonic scale. I think it was 12456. There is also a more major sounding pentatonic that you often hear in Javanese music, but can be found all over. If you thought I just meant minor pentatonic, or like blues scale stuff, then you'd be wrong. I think what he was playing sounded great. I was just marveling at how you can get so much mileage out of one scale. Sorry for the confusion.
what's he doing here? why isn't he in oz in his cell? why isn't he teaching kids music in whiplash? why isn't he in the daily bugle going through spidey's pictures?
he has two triton racks and 3 kurzweil racks and a karma which is essentially another triton but with a more intelligent arpeggiator...this guy has too much money
OMG! He can play even without The Magic Beard!
He is the magic!
Is it only me or part of this solo sounds just like Rick Wakeman´s...
Goatee
2:40 That’s a man who is living his music.
yea... you wont reach this level if you're doing it for money... you will just get this far if you love what you're doing.
He has the same enthusiasm with a keyboard as Ross Geller
hahahahaha thes best comment ever
I wonder how fast he can send text messages
or type on pc keyboard
+Den Tholense I wonder how fast he can fingered any woman.
He responds to messages before you even send them.
Juan Noriega he fingered a woman once...
She died!! Ha it never gets old I swear
Wth
My number one influence for my efforts on the keys.
What a legend! I personally think he may be the most talented member of Dream Theater, but it’s certainly a tough call!

@@martinfalk8597 Been the EXACT same with Mangini, it's crazy! They're stilllll going out of their way to insult him a decade later.
Magic
One of the best moments in Music History👏🏻👏🏻
I have no doubt, Dream Theater is where the gods gathered
Jordan Rudess....you are my god!
Aun recuerdo la emoción de ver este solo en la casa de un amigo mío hace 20 años y sigue persistiendo esa misma emoción al verlo.
That was beautiful. I was mesmerized.

Agreed! He is also very knowledgeable in soundscapes outside of music.
I fucking agree!!! He's also a really good programmer and sound scientist!
I have ONE possible competitor.
Keith Emerson.
It's so trippy when he takes his finger off of a key and the note still plays. I've always loved how he does that.
Sustain pedal?
@@thechampionspath4715 Yes
It's sustain, literally every piano has a sustain pedal lmao
That was just so amazing and inspiring... Jordan is a legend and a inspiration
Jordan Rudess destroy on the keybord, he is animal.
