Perfect timing! Just about to clamp a bridge onto my first ukulele (also first stringed instrument). I chose a bridge design with bridge pins so I'll be able to use nuts, bolts and washers to accomplish this same technique I think.
@@OBrienGuitars okay thanks I wasn't sure. Dry fit went okay, I do need to make a little shim for the leading edge of the bridge because the contour right with the clamp that I'm using, also the wooden pads that go under the wing nuts on the bridge wings our little small, I'll make new ones a little bigger..... Anyway, thanks for your help man
@@OBrienGuitars Rob, the Fox Bridge Clamp for the steel string guitars is not shown - only for classical style guitars. Has the bridge clamp for steel string guitars been discontinued?
Rather than bolting the clamp on through the bridge pin holes, you just clamp the "clamp" to the soundboard and bridge and then tighten the screws to lightly apply pressure to the bridge.

Robbie, I cannot seem to find that bridge clamping jig on LMIs website??? Could you tell me the proper name or part # for it. Thanks Scott
You can find it on AliExpress easily, I am also thinking to make this clamp with my handword, this is called "bridge clamp"
Amazon has tons of them
So, the bolts get glued in as well...??
Yes. they easily remove later. If you are worried apply a bit of wax to the screws. You also use very little glue when gluing the bridge on anyway.
How tight do you crank down on those screws?
Not very tight. Just enough to apply a little pressure.

@@bobbyh.3911 It looks like they are temporarily out of stock, www.lmii.com/clamps-vises/2584-fox-bridge-clamp-for-steel-string.html

Too bad LMI is closing. I've just started ordering stuff from them. I was actually hoping to get one of these from them.
Anything you need, get it now. They may still have it in stock.
@@OBrienGuitars yeah. I've checked on the clamps. I'm working on my wish list. I'm hopeful they'll change course and someone will take over.
