- In this video I unbox and review the Seiko SBTR027 which I imported from Japan and the total cost including taxes was less than £200. Fantastic Seiko! There are so many fantastic JDM only watches, not only from Seiko, that would do well all over the world. No idea why these are JDM only.

Hey Gary, they have been making this JDM model for quite sometime, there are many variants. About 4 years ago in Japan I picked up the model with steel bezel, silver sunburst dial and white subdials. I was very much a watch newbie but glad I picked it up and I think it will always stay in my collection! They sure are continuing to make some really beautiful versions of this model

Bought this one earlier this year. Bracelet was quickly removed, but wear it regularly on leather or FKM rubber strap. Absolutely love this thing! Great value. Especially related to the recent Speedtimer releases.
Nice Seiko Saturday episode! The watch head is a stunner! Truly gorgeous! But the bracelet's a throwaway. This watch would live on an alternative strap if it was mine.
Yeah,saw it online recently and felt exactly as you do so purchased it. Can’t wait for it to arrive. Who would believe in Seiko, the brand accused of becoming too expensive
Looks to be great value, one thing that really spoils it for me though, the hands with that colour dial just blend into the dial, i think a different colour hand set with that dial would make a big improvement to it.
I’ve had this watch for about a year, it gets a lot looks! It’s casual but could be worn dress clothes. I love it

I bought this same watch about a month ago. I ended up putting it on a Hirsch Lucca leather strap. It is a beautiful watch in person and looks far more expensive that it really is.

i have this watch got it for around 14 USD including shipping from Japan. i live in Korea so it took only a few days to get it delivered and this is far one of my favourite watches i own. the color is perfect

This seems to be a modern interpretation of the SSB0XX family from about 5-6 years ago, looks to be the same case, bracelet and movement, got myself a black SSB031 as NOS a couple of years back from Amazon US, in total landed in the UK about £174. Again like Gary says in his description, I googled from SSB001 up to about SSB050, found about 15 different designs if I recall correctly. Mine gets brought out every so often as a daily driver, in my opinion a great looking grab and go watch which definitely punches above it's weight.

The seiko spirit line is full of absolute gems at crazy affordable prices. You should check out the spirit solar world time watches. Solar, sapphire crystal, tons of features, and they run around $250 usd. SPBJ023 is the blue, SPBJ025 is the black model. Crazy value-for-money watches!!!

Not too sure on the ice blue dial but a nice watch. Usual Seiko failings on bracelet and clasp but otherwise well priced. Plenty of Aliexpress watches with the same movement so take your pick. Great content as always Gary, keep up the good work. 👍⌚😎

Hi Gary, got the same watch from Japan (used once for £164), arrived today and its as good as the video, that blue grey dial is super dooper! Also , the seller included the original receipts all in Japanese, nice touch!

I bought about 4 of the Pagani Design similar to this using the VK63 Seiko mecha-quartz movements for $63 with free shipping from China. They are a homage to the Rolex Daytona and have screw-down crowns and pushers. I like the graphics on this better though, it is easier to read. Also, they have a sapphire crystal.
IKR? I got a PD1676 "Daytona" for the Paul Newman cool factor, and at the price who can blame me? But I never wear the beautiful thing bc the red markers set in black minute track are very difficult to read in any light conditions. A watch is just a useless shiny bauble of you cannot read it (blacked out, inverted display G-shock has entered the chat).
It is a beautiful watch. Now looking for a rally strap to match the dial.

I have this watch and it turns a lot of heads. Even down here in Miami where it seems ever other person has a Rolex. Bears a striking resemblance to a Daytona and definitely a better value than a Saytona MOD considering its 100% authentic.

No sapphire is a shame but I’m not as bothered about ‘invisible’ specs as I used to be.
I recently picked one of these up. I absolutely love it, but has anyone else had an issue with slightly wiggly chrono pushers? After a week of use, the pushers on my watch move from side to side slightly, and I can hear the rubber gaskets squeaking against the metal when they shift around like this. It isn't that severe--they're not that loose, and it doesn't interfere with functionality. But it just feels a little crappy, and I worry about compromised water resistance. Is this normal, or should I send it back for another copy?
This is a neat watch however for the money I would rather get an Invicta speedway chronograph same movement, tons of different colors and they're all around $80 US
I bought one. Looked cheap, tinny thin hands. Sold it without ever putting it on. I want decent quality, even if the cost is low end.

Sacm171 is probably the best value Seiko out there.
It's very good but I think the size makes it quite tailored to fewer people but I agree, the movement and finishing is spectacular

You didnt need to open the case back to identify the movement - it's stamped on the outside of the case back.
For the sake of legibility and to reduce weight I would chose the black/gold version with the strap. But I will not buy it because the big second hand being used for the chronograph and standing still all the time if you don't use the chronograph would irritate me too much. And I already have a chronograph.
The chapter ring seems a bit off otherwise nice looking.

Yeah no, sorry, the best Seiko deal *ever* was like a month ago during Amazon prime day, I got a Seiko SZSB016 for $87 USD. It retailed for 380ish USD and during the span of like an hour it went on sale and we all went crazy. Managed to get one, it's also a JDM model

Honestly there are a bunch of Seikos under $200 that have sapphire crystals and are finished very well, it's very strange. Now they are all quartz watches but that's fine by me.
