1: its nice that tetris forever exists to show off the more obscure versions of tetris. 2: mobile tetris wasnt always like this, it was like a more proper tetris game, but greed completley took over and its what it is now.
CDI Tetris is crazy, I only knew of the CDI from Hotel Mario and those Zelda games, so it’s wild seeing those really beautiful landscapes from a CDI game. Makes sense though that it would be the rarest, I can’t imagine anyone was in a major rush to buy a CDI and a copy of CDI Tetris.
An interesting journey into the most game ass game which ever did it. Like the ways in which you switch presentation styles, and the ways in which they all contribute to making something which has an electric energy and almost acts as a shorthand to the tone of a section, with live-action having a greater comedy focus, while the avatar gives more direct information! Keep up the great work, and have a lovely day.
Always lovely to hear from you! You might also like to know I've started playing Mother 3 in my spare time! Not for a video or anything, I just finally got around to playing it! I'm at Chapter 5 right now. :)
@@cannonballking7 So so so so great!! It makes Earthbound look so shallow in comparison, which is a shame because I loved Earthbound! I can't get over how genuinely engaging it is. I'm playing on original hardware too, so all that has to come across on an abysmal GBA screen, but it pulls it off so well.
@@Bloops Delightful to hear! Yeah it really is an incredible game, and how it tackles basically everything it does with such grace it's all superb. And to think it's not even the full experience it was originally preposed as, it's a title which invites discussion on basically every level :D
I played the first version of Tetris on the Electronika computer at a convention in Texas, the same convention that aGameScout made a video on a few months ago. The convention was ATG Expo 2024 back in January, not sure if they brought it to other conventions though. Photorealistic backgrounds of the CDi look cool... the lack of softdropping, not so much
@@mariobot128 I apologize Mario robot! They just wanted to be friends! They were very timid and shy, and scared of being judged, but hoped the world would appreciate trying to show themselves!
I really liked this style of video when you go on more of an exploration of a game's history. Good job! Also I'm obsessed with the Eye with the tie. Best mascot hands down.
@@unclebob1674 From what I understand, the NES sales also included the Famicom, although they're different versions - although I absolutely regret not making the differentiation. 😅
The rarest Tetris game is my winning match of Tetris 99 because it still hasn't happened yet.
keep going, I believe in you
I'm glad the mega drive tetris was mentioned, even though it was technically never sold.

13:00 I wouldn't trust resellers to price shit. I found a set of 5 OEM 3DS circle pad covers for $5,000. Those mfs are huffing plastic fumes fr.

I am genuinely terrified by your tetris-playing skills

Thank you!! I was worried about giving "Reading from Wikipedia" vibes so I'm so happy to hear this!!!
Oh yeah, I forgot he invented an avatar
7:35 There was an arcade of that one at a terminal on the paris airport and I casually topscored on it
Always love your deep dive videos, super good watch!
Check out Tetris Giant (Dekaris in Japan) by Sega. Pretty good and rare arcade game with giant joysticks. Thanfully it's easy to emulate.
What about Sega Tetris?
Not that one, or that one - the *OTHER* Sega Tetris, for NAOMI and Dreamcast
Not the rarest, but no mention of the Famicom Tetris? It's *not* the NES version. Give it a go!
@@unclebob1674 From what I understand, the NES sales also included the Famicom, although they're different versions - although I absolutely regret not making the differentiation. 😅
Does playing them help you find the rarest?
@@AxeMain I was finding the tastiest as a side project, which did require playing them.
I used to have a bop-it tetris
dude this editing is so good
Thanks so much!! Keyframes were a great invention, can't imagine how our ancestors lived without them.
i have NEVER SEEN the CDI version what the hell
…I’m pretty sure some refrigerators have a version of Tetris on them. Why would the CDi surprise you?
@@Savannah_Simpson i dont think the refrigerators or tv versions are official tetris company games!
It didnt surprise me, i just never saw it before!

What about Tetris Grandmaster 3?

So no one else stopped watching due to all the footage of this guy sucking **** at Tetris?
All the footage sources can be found in the citations! 😊
@@Bloops No offense dude, I just get too frustrated to enjoy the video watching obviously intentional bad moves. Good luck with the vids
@@Bloops Haven't you played them all? I see no sources in the description. Just a shady website.
