He has stated in interviews that the time after their self titled album was bad for him and he was going through opiate addiction. Right now he is SKINNY. Hes STILL ON DRUGS, yet the most sober he's ever been. He's also singing even better now.

Chi Cheng had a amazing stage presence, I wish he was still alive, Deftones is a legendary band now.
