One of the bands I was in played that style of metal. My singer looked just like Chino. It actually became a nagging problem. It didn't help that we covered Deftones tunes in our live set too. Lol
Chi was such an important part...Its like Van Halen, Micheal Anthony played great bass lines and sang backup vocal in an unique yet awesome way. Chi was a GREAT backup singer and bass player.

@Risk 74 Max was very buddy buddy with the nu metal crowd during the first years of Soulfly. He collaborated with Limp Bizkit and Slipknot on the first two Soulfly albums. So don't stick your head in the sand and claim that he was not.
He also produced one of the best Nu Metal albums in the history of argentinian music, A.N.I.M.A.L - Poder Latino, and you can actually feel his touch and magic while listening to that record, the lead singer and guitarist formed a latin super band with andreas kisser from sepultura a couple years later, called De La Tierra, and the bassist and the drummer formed Carajo, i write this bc latin america has really good metal not discovered yet, and sorry for my english im from argentina, greetings!!
