Hi and thanks for watching. I guess it depends what videos you want to shoot. The M50 is an amazing camera and I think you can get results similar to this video as I didn't push the grade. If grading and specific looks are important then the eos-m would be much better. You can do upto 48fps on eos-m but you may not get long recording time as the camera can't handle it. Also you'd have to conform all the footage to 50fps in mlv app so the process is even longer 😞 I don't have M50 anymore to do the comparison as I prefer to shoot raw or a minimum of 10bit.

Hi, yes you can get 1080p. If you go into the movie tab you can turn off raw video and it'll default to 1080. There's also an option of making your 1080p higher bit rate too. I actually shoot higher than 100 often, sometimes upto 400. This camera hates lowlight though so you may have to de-noise it or use a dark frame (Google darkframe eos-m). Thanks for the compliment, the rig is great in this configuration and I've decided to leave it like this. Ps, sometimes if I need normal 1080 I'll just insert another blank card without ml and use the default codec.
Crazy difference right! I've been saying it for so long on my ml videos lol. Yes this is the 1/4. Some people say it's too strong but only if using it at night with lots of light...but in the day time which most of us shoot it's amazing.
@@Altcine I got a mix of lenses (mostly crappy old Minolta MD lenses and occasionally I use a Canon EF-S 10-18mm with IS). Should I just get a 77mm Pro-mist that could adapt to anything? What monitor would you recommend? Link? Also, Zeek mentioned a setting at 2k for monitor use, and only at 2k. So not sure if a Feel World is worth getting.
These settings should work on any monitor. You might get one dead frame at the very start but from there all the recordings will be good. I've tried it on a few monitors now and got very consistent results 👍🏾👍🏾
@@Altcine What are the system requirements in order to render Raw Video using MLV Apps and Davinci? I have a windows Hp PAvilion, 8Ram, Icore5. All my rendered videos play back very slowing.
Nice video as always. Off-topic question: I saw a video you did a couple of months ago recommending eos M over BMPCC because of the rise of the prices of bmpcc. I already have eos M, but what is your opinion about a ML 5diii? Is it comparable with bmpcc for video or not worth it? I ask this because I wanted a camera that has great video quality but also can take great stills (that full frame sensor is a plus here).
Hi, and thank you. From what I've seen the 5d3 is probably one of the best I've seen for ml. It looks fantastic but the bmpcc is going to be a better user experience. The filmic qualities of that sensor and BM colour science is like a match made in heaven. Yes the 5d3 is plenty sharp, clean and looks very good...I'm just not sure I'd drop the cash because it's not as developed as Eos-M. If you didn't need a stills camera your options would be simpler. So long answer short...yes it can produce great image but if you handed me the two...I'd take the bmpcc.
How did you get HDMI out in 1080p? I get a black screen using a cheap o USB HDMI Capture card. Using my more expensive CamLink 4K works perfectly fine in 1080p, but I really don't want to risk breaking an expensive HDMI capture card. Please, HELP!😅
It depends on how complex the detail is. It'll soften subtle aliasing and moiré but if the building, pattern is complex then you'll still see it. Even at 1/4 you can still see it if you look.
@@chaseroneeightseven no probs and thank you. I don't think many people venture into cine lenses....not from what I've seen anyway. It's usually just the vintage or Canon lenses.

Ps, sometimes if I need normal 1080 I'll just insert another blank card without ml and use the default codec.
Holy wow, that is the first time I saw footage cropped in with and without a pro mist filter. Which Pro Mist were you using? 1/4 ?
Crazy difference right! I've been saying it for so long on my ml videos lol.
Yes this is the 1/4. Some people say it's too strong but only if using it at night with lots of light...but in the day time which most of us shoot it's amazing.
@@Altcine I got a mix of lenses (mostly crappy old Minolta MD lenses and occasionally I use a Canon EF-S 10-18mm with IS). Should I just get a 77mm Pro-mist that could adapt to anything? I also plan on getting a 7artisans 25mm F1.8 at some point. Would it be bad to use various step rings to adapt it down?
So good build)
Thanks bro 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Great job bro.
Thank you 🙌🏾🙌🏾😁
Hey @IMCE can you give me the links for all the parts
Very nice rig and footage! One question, what monitor is that?
Thank you :) . The monitor is eyoyo E5. They used to be quite cheap but prices have increased.
I paid about £68 new
What is the white piece between the lens and camera body? Cheers
That's just a normal adapter coated in white paint then lacquer
Nice! Bro!!
Could you put links or names of products which you use?
Hey, I've put links for what's still available but you'll have to use your imagination of you want to replicate this build.
@@Altcine Thanks alot for the fast reply and for your opinion and guidance. Cheers from Portugal!

Badass!
Which model EOS-M did you use for this project ?
great video! what lens is that?
Thank you. Lens is Sigma 18-35 art
@@Altcine thank you !
Cool vid.
Thanks 👍
Nice!
Wow cool.. 😍👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💕🎉
😁🙌🏾🙌🏾
What are the ND and diffusers youre using?
Nd are just cheap ones like the Zomei VND usually cost around £15.
The diffusion is Tiffen black pro mist but there are cheaper alternatives now.
How did you get HDMI out in 1080p? I get a black screen using a cheap o USB HDMI Capture card. Using my more expensive CamLink 4K works perfectly fine in 1080p, but I really don't want to risk breaking an expensive HDMI capture card. Please, HELP!😅
Does it give the same film look and quality as a red Komodo?
Question. With ML installed does it offer a true 4:3 aspect ratio or an in camera desqueeze for when shooting anamorphic?
Hi Paul, I haven’t tried anamorphic yet but there is a desqueeze option in ml menu for use with anamorphic lenses.
@@Altcine good to know. Does it give you different desqueeze strength options?
@@GuardianFilmworks will check for you in the morning and message you 👍🏾👍🏾
@@Altcine sweet! Thanks man
Sir which one is bitter canon 700d or eos m both with magic lantern
What matte box are you using?
Is a 1/8 promist enough to remove aliasing in 1080p?
It depends on how complex the detail is. It'll soften subtle aliasing and moiré but if the building, pattern is complex then you'll still see it. Even at 1/4 you can still see it if you look.
So the touchscreen monitor works with the EOS M control ?
Hi, no I meant that I use the monitor to view any changes I make in the menu. Sorry if that caused any confusion.
@@Altcine I don't supposed you can add a follow focus on that rig.
@@Lp-ze1tg yes it's quite simple because it has rails. There's quite a few options where to place the controller too.
How recording sound work with raw files with eos M? Is it possible?
Yep, it records sound no problems
Zeek says 5K is the most reliable with No Aliasing… ??? Idk what do you say?
which sigma lens your using?
Sigma 18-35 F1.8
What lens are you using?
Sigma 18-35
Is none gonna talk about that seal at 0:35 ?
😂😂 it looks so weird
Think i'd rather retain the touch screen functionality & put the battery underneath.
I hear that...new rig incoming
Im from Philippines.
Someday i will have that kind of rig on my EOS M..😭🙏❤️
Hi 😁. It's actually quite a simple rig and easy to do.
The parts are all relatively cheap apart from the top handle.
Thanks for watching Harry 👍🏾👍🏾
@@Altcine Thank you for this awesome content ❤️🙏 Godbless
hey man do you can help?? i need take this model tourn eos m in a red komodo... send me link this product.. do u help, plz?
Hi, the translation is a bit tough to read. Do you want to make this build?
Hi😊 What lens is this?
Hi, this is the sigma 18-35 1.8 ART
@@Altcine thanks for the quick reply 😊 fantastic footage! Has anyone ever tried the meike 35mm t2.1 on the eos m? I couldn't find anything
@@chaseroneeightseven no probs and thank you. I don't think many people venture into cine lenses....not from what I've seen anyway.
It's usually just the vintage or Canon lenses.
@@Altcine yeah true... keep up the good work and have a nice day 😊
