and heck even strikers like Mandzukic, Dzeko, Higauin, Tevez, Origi, all have done better then him when it comes to winning. Kane is a very good player, but he is massively overrated. There are so many strikers even those less talented then Kane, that increase there performance when it is necessary and manage to win trophies, Kane though seems to usally drop to a worse level whenever a final comes around for club and country, although he has actually been very good in the CL this season with Bayern.

I don't get why trophies define a career when trophies are a team achievement. Kane is a legend of the game already with his impact on the field, and he doesn't need to win a trophy to cement that in my mind.
Hell, even the best players miss out on trophies all the time. Gerard never won the league. CR7 never won the world cup. Brazilian Ronaldo never won the champion's league. I think the only point of trophies is to satisfy the dumb asterisks haters want to plop on players.

Trophies matter. A striker especially is looked at for the heights he could inspire his team to get to. Trophies are a reflection of that. How far could Harry Kane inspire and help his teammates get? Is it a UCL and some domestic cup finals? Cause that is the level rn. Many strikers don’t score in finals nor do they even score as much during the knockouts. Haaland didn’t score against Madrid or Inter yet he helped and inspired City to win the treble. It’s how far you can help your club go as a striker that make trophies very important. Are you going to say Drogba’s trophies don’t matter when he was the biggest reason Chelsea won so many while he was with them?

But that's the thing, you don't need trophies to prove you have leadership and goalscoring. Messi was always a great leader to Argentina and their best player even before he won the world cup.
Trophies can be very arbitrary, sometimes you can just face bad luck. Sometimes you just face a more complete team. Maybe the opposing manager tactically outgunned you. Maybe Emi Martinez chose to stop a would be game winner and a bunch of penalties to erase your 2 goals and late game heroics. None of that is at the control of one sole player, it is unfair to expect that from one player.
Sure, you can be the biggest slice of the pizza, but sometimes you can be one new york slice and you would still be smaller than a hundred lunchables combined.

The curse might be continue again as Bayern Munich were in the Champions League semi right now, with Real Madrid being the opponents (they had knocked them three times since 2014). To add more insults, Harry Kane had to face his England teammates (and probably, the best young player in the country right now), Jude Bellingham.
Not to mention, this year's Champions League Final will be played in England's national stadium, Wembley, where Kane failed to win the silverware with England 3 years ago. Just imagine Bayern Munich failing to repeat the same result like 11 years ago against their Der Klassiker rivals Borussia Dortmund!

I would say that there will be no repeat of Wembley 2013. At that time, both Germans were too dominant against prime Real Madrid and Barcelona when they played the 1st leg at home soil, with Bayern smashing Barcelona 7-0 over two legs. This time, they weren't the best sides, with the likes of Reus, Hummels, and Muller being the only veteran players to remain for this season's squad after the Wembley 2013.

In the 15/16 season, when spurs were going for the title against Leicester City, during the last 4 games when it really mattered, they drew to West Brom, lost to Chelsea, lost to Southampton and lost to a relegated Newcastle side on the last day. And Kane did not have a single goal contribution in any of those games during the run-in. Kane has played in 5 finals in his career, and has not had 1 shot on target in a final, let alone a goal. So is it really curse? Or is he just mentally fragile when it matters? Every striker before him who were great were held to a high standard when it came to trophies. Kane is probably the only "superstar" who gets away with failure and does not get scrutinised enough.
I really hope Bayern wins this year's champions league. It would be ironic if Kane was able to win the hardest cup in Europe as his only one in his trophy cabinet.

In one hand you have strikers like Ruud Van N, Van Persie, Aguero and Lewandowski who keeps a consistent scoring record and also scores when it matters. On the other side, you have strikers like Harry Kane and Haaland who scores like machines but disappears when their team needed them most.
