- In this video Aaron Perelli will demonstrate the two strongest Fluorocarbon knots used in bass fishing today. They are called, the Eugene slip knot and the double Eugene Bend. The line will not cut into each other and they will stay intact for an excellent hook up ratio out on the water.
Music by: Florida Georgia Line.

*I was pleased with Trilene mono line **enjoyable.fishing** recommend performance (25 lb. test) because it offers smooth casting with no tangles/bird's nest in the spool. And, knots can be tied effectively with ease. I would recommend.*
Eugene slip knot is the best for fluorocarbon line period. I have tested every other knot against it. Even the double line uni knot breaks every time before the Eugene.Tie the Eugene knot on a lure and tie any other knot to a lure on the other end and pull to see which one breaks first. Thanks for the video.
Best tutorial for the double eugene bend, thanks!
Flaxen Saxon Absolutely my pleasure, so happy you enjoyed it 👊🏻👊🏻
The z shape trick on the double Eugene was awesome ! Thank you
Helmut Nittmann Truly appreciate the comments so glad you like it. Good luck on the water brother👊🏻👊🏻
Thanks, your right this is the strongest knot, also called the double line Uni knot, line to hook, swivel etc. There is another double Uni for tying two lines together. Who is Eugene? Inventor?
Aaron, thanks for the video. I've never heard of this knot, but am going to definitely try it. I like to see this same demonstration with a darker background. I think it would be easier to see the line better... thanks.
Gene DuClos Thank you very much for stopping by and watching. I will definitely do that. Good luck to you on the water and be safe👍👍
finally someone tying this knot where you can actually see whats going on. Thank you!
jeremiahebert1 of course no problem, check out my other knots. They are killer on the water. Good luck to you thanks for watching.
THANK YOU THE FIRST KNOT THAT WORKED. The is usable on a size 16 flat too .
Saw Shaw Grigsby do a tutorial on the Double Eugene Bend knot but the picture quality was pretty poor so I found my way here. Thanks for the great tutorial, made it very easy to learn! 👍👍
Edit: subscribed
Been using this not for over a decade and learned it from Shaw Grigsby, been calling it the Grigsby knot since then. Best knot I know of.
Thanks! My new go to knot!
Good video and helpful thanks
Phat Tran My pleasure, glad this was helpful for you. Good luck on the water and be safe. 👍👍
Now that’s Gangsta.....!Awesome...!
Miguel Chavez Thank you so much I truly appreciate that, good luck on the water brother
@@ajpfishing8811.... I'm in northern Idaho its still to cold to bass fish. But im itchin to try some new knots for sure..
Thanks..Very helpful.
sstaz22 My pleasure, I hope it works for you on the water. Good luck and be safe👍👍
Excellent video! Do you use the Double Eugene Bend for dropshot (using the tag end that parallels the main line as your drop leader)? The Palomar sucks in most brands of fluoro that I’ve tried, and this knot ties more quickly and compactly than the double line uni knot that Aaron Martens recommends, which would make it preferable to me.
Randy Thomas tell you the truth that’s actually a great idea to use that extra tag end for your drop shot. I never thought of doing that but I’m sure it would hold up with a long enough tag end. Thank you so much for commenting on this video and adding some great input on how to use it. Good luck to you on the water. 👍👍👍
AJP Fishing: we NJ guys need to stick together...
Thank you for the tips in the video. I'm going to try the double eugue. I've been loosing a lot of lures with the impoved clinch knot. What brand and line test do you use for bass fishing?
Ken I always use Seaguar InvizX Fluorocarbon Line 15 to 17lb test for all my jig, chatterbait, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. For every type of Swimbaits I use Seaguar AbrazX Fluorocarbon Line as high as 20lb test. But for saving money I love Vicious Fluorocarbon. I always use braid or mono backing on the reel to save on the Fluorocarbon. I hope this helps you out bro. Good luck on the water 👍👍
Does the knot look big if it’s 20lb fluro. I feel like I did it wrong
Megan Cooper it is a bulkier knot when using 20lb I’m sure. What are you using it for?
AJP Fishing swimbaits and crankbaits. I guess we will see if the tied it right tomorrow. 😳
Megan Cooper good luck I hope it works for you. It’s never let me down so watch the video closely so your sure it’s right. 👍👍 Enjoy
Does this knot still slide up once it's sinched down?
James Murray Thank you for commenting on my video, yes the knot can slip up the line but will not after you clip tag ends. I hope this information helps you and good luck on the water and be safe.
Thanks for the tip!
A black background might have helped us to see better.
Hack of a knot
K?
also called the pitzen knot
White background would be better, can’t see the line
Hard to see the line...
Thanx for the explanation of the "Double Eugene Bend" knot; you mentioned Shaw Grigsby uses it and yes he does, but it's called a "Double Pitzen" knot and that's what he calls it on his youtube vids ( ua-cam.com/video/zxX3--DHQYE/v-deo.html ) . He also pinches the line before passing through the eye and I agree with you, I believe pinching immediately weakens the line and sets it up for failure. I've been tying the single and double Pitzen ever since I watched Alton Jones demonstrate a single Pitzen about 10-12 years ago (yes, he has a vid on it too and yes, he swings the spinnerbait he's tying around several times but that's because he's demonstrating a single. Your way just wrapping the double tag is most effective and easier to control if doing the double. Not trying to correct you on the name, just offering up that it also goes by Pitzen and Double Pitzen. Either name, Eugene Bend or Pitzen, it's a great knot! Thanx for sharing!
you sure it's ok?
Adrian Haugen I know I’m terrible at that. It’s just one of those habits that’s hard to break. I hope you at least got some good information from the video pal 👍🏻👍🏻
@@ajpfishing8811 I know, man. Thanks for the knowledge 👍
Adrian Haugen absolutely my pleasure brother 👊🏻👊🏻🔥🔥
Can't see the line at all. !
Bill Ewald yes sorry about that. I’ll be doing some on my Instagram channel @ajpfishing
Use white background
LONNIE HALL I will be doing a list of knots on my Instagram channel soon please come and follow. 👊🏻👊🏻🙏 @ajpfishing
Could not see the line. Next time use an appropriate background or colored line.
Okay.
screw all that, just tie the uni Knot, never never lost a fish on it and have caught them from 8 to 12 pounds at Lake Fork, very simple knot
Non si vede una mazza!!!! Quando fai un video di un nodo metti un contrasto piddu....
I could not see a darn thing.
Video is almost useless...can't see the line because of the background tiles. Use a different color line.
O k ok ok
jjm13 LOL you're absolutely right for some reason I cannot get myself to stop saying that word when speaking. Hopefully you did learn something on the knot though. Thanks for stopping by and watching the video
Hi
Yes that was a new knot on me after 40 years of fishing😉
Learn something new everyday
Good video of the knots. Just a tip, stop saying "okay." stopped counting at 200.
you'll present a lot better!!!
Geary Long I couldn’t agree with you more, it’s a tough habit to break. I will be doing a knot presentation on my Instagram channel soon so please come and follow @ajpfishing
