Fuel shut off is under tank. I have the same mower 2017 with 750 hrs. Routine maintenance and it runs perfect. Belts once since new, that's all. I hope to get 2,000 hrs out of it. Also, if I put it in 4th, I'd be 🏃♂️. Lol
I've had the SWZT for 3 years and have only one complaint that it's light in the front and will lift going up a steep hill. Other than that it cuts great with either super high lifts, G6 blades or machine mill the bearing spindle shafts to adapt X blade pattern. I'll be adapting 10" wheels to mine after mowing season. John
I have the High Velocity 48" and love the adjustable baffle for summer and fall leaves. Several of this model 36" I have seen have durability issues with the frame to the front casters with weld breaking. Just the deck with the HV is enough for me to choose that deck vs. others. Being able to grease the spindles is big in my mind and I am a frequent guy with the Ggun and also the wheel bearings. Like your review. Not a big fan of this Scag with its engineering. Think the 42" Stander is in my future when I go from woodworking to lawn when me mind goes. As far as your height and weight and me being a lighter frame guy; please eat right and try to prepare for older age and widdle that weight down to 200. You will find the advantages as the years go by. Be safe
What’s the price, if you don’t mind me asking? I’m going to need to replace my little riding mower at some point in the future and want a zero turn type mower to get in small gates.
I just bought a 54in badboy walk behind and I think all makes are cumbersome with their controls in one way or another. What killed it for me was the pull side on the scag. Can't get to it on my enclosed trailer.
just bought this mower "used" I found one with only 124 original hour, and it came with the grass gobbler bagger and a wright mfg velky x2. Mower is mint, not a scratch on it. Fires up 2nd pull. Cant wait to get some mowing done with it!!
How is the 36" holding up? I purchased one and very happy so far. Added the Grass Flap and Packem Grass Catcher. Mine is for residential use not commercial.
So far so good. She's about to go down for her seasonal fluids and filter changes but she hasn't given me any problems. The only things I've had to do were adjust the two friction bolts on the neutral lock mechanisms for the operator controls.
Take a look at the Ferris FW15, 280lbs. Looking to demo one when my local dealer gets one in. I have a Scag 32sw and I really love it. But the thing is heavy like you said.
Wish we had a Ferris dealer nearby. They are pretty much a non-existent brand around my area. I hadn't heard of the FW15 but that looks like a neat mower. What's the pricing supposed to be?
@@iiiStUNA9 wow, they are really proud of that thing. I guess they were aiming straight for the gap in the market between the pus mower and walk behind.
Nice mower.. But Scag need to re-design it to make it shorter.. Maybe give it a smaller gas tank.. maybe move the engine further forward. Also you need to be able to see where the front of the deck is mowing.
Hey, I'm considering getting one of those these walk behinds, I have the swz walk behind. What's the cut quality on the swtz? I wish scag would put the velocity deck on the swtz.
I have zero complaints with the SWZT deck. Having used the Velocity+ deck on the 48" Vride II I had before I really can't tell a difference. It cuts through the thickest and wettest stuff quite well. If the deck is your only concern I would comfortably go make the purchase.
Great!! It pretty much was my only concern. I'm looking to upgrade my swz and I liked the design of the swtz. Thanks for the input and great review! Very detailed!
Scag should have just updated the swz. It’s a beast. The swzt has some nice features but I think the swz is a better built mower and has a much better deck.
Hey man, nice review. I'm also trying to decide between the 36 stander and walk behind. It would be beyond awesome if the operator could reach the deck height control from the operator position. I do love the qwik height of cut adjustment because like you, I have lawns that require 2 or 3 different cut heights. So, are you still liking it??? Thanks in advance!
Sorry for taking so long to reply Jeff. If I was in the market again I would go SWZT walk behind hands down. No matter how hard I tried to offset cuts, change patterns and make sure I didn't cut on days when irrigation systems ran the 36" stander would leave tracks in the yards. It was just too much machine coupled with my 250lbs and those small tires.
I loved the SWZT, it was definitely one of my favorites. The 36" stander was great for those long days and not having to walk around but at 250lbs plus the weight of the mower I just couldn't keep from forming tracks over time in my yards, no matter how much I tried to alter patterns or mow in offsets, it was just too much weight for those narrow tires. I never had any issues with the SWZT.
I would have to get under there and measure Joey. The SWZT does seem to cut the grass at a similar height to my BadBoy 25" push mower when both are set at 4" but I haven't actually measured to verify how close it is to the indicated height adjuster.
Thankfully all my yards have at least a 42" gate except one. I'm not having any rutting issues at this time but if I started noticing them I would just install a slightly wider tire. I could still get through most gates with a few extra inches outside of the deck width.
@@tallens5280 the width of the tires has no impact on cut quality. They were designed to fit through a 36" gate. You can put 40" wide tires on a 36" mower and other than turf tearing it's not going to change the quality of the cut. Perfect example are vemtrac and wright mowers that have optional dual wheel configurations.
@@tallens5280 so far it hasn't started to rut on lawns. I try to vary patterns and offset my cutting lanes each time but if it does become a problem I might try a 10" tire.

This will be the next purchase to our small business. Currently running out TCII and the 36 will be a game changer on hills with small access points

Nice. I bought a 36 inch and hopefully it will last. SCAG has a pretty good reputation they look solid.

Where did you find a 10" wheel for it?
There is a fuel shut off just under the gas tank. I have the same mower.
Would have never noticed it without this comment.

You can add an electric start for $160 I did on my 36.
Just got mine last week put 15 hours on it. Gonna make some money with this thing
Ugh, spacer deck height is the worst. Great job on the video, and where does that tiny door lead? My guess is mechanical closet...or Narnia. ;)
Water heater and AC unit.
With spindles that easy to access, it may as well have ones you can grease. My opinion.

I know this is old but are you still using the scag and how much do you feel your productivity went down from the stander

I'm a scag owner as well as a toro owner. Big tip keep the inside of the fans cleaned out. The grass will cause the fans to oval
That's actually something I do about every other yard. Just did it out of habit but glad to know I need to stay diligent on that.
I keep mine cleaned as well it will pt strain on the fan also
What is the true cutting height when the deck is in the highest position?
I haven't measured it. The indicated height is 4.5" which is just a hair above the actual transport height lockout.
What's the highest you can mow
The highest notch is 4.5" then you could cut at transport height which I would guess is either 4.75 or 5"
@@LaidBackLawnCare Awesome thanks
