- From 1996-- a duet with with bassist Erin Wright. The microphone was not working properly when LC introduced the song--thus the laughter when he cupped his hands around his mouth to make sure everyone heard the title of the tune! :) Superlative playing on display here.
For someone that Is or truly loved or the opposite (no in betweens for Larry Coryell), once, a musician I knew years ago, and who wasn't really into LC, said to me: "look, I respect that he once was a pioneer of merging rock with jazz, and recognize that he Is a pretty good composer, particulary with the accoustic guitar. I just feel not confortable with the excesses in His playing. But, he surely can play standards in a variety of ways... "... He played Autumn Leaves in At least 3 totally different ways... This Is a fact
Double bass player Is very good... She Is pretty cool ...
Some people didn't like when he played standards in a blues rock fusion form... They would have prefered to listen to him playing this standard in this pre fusion way... Not everyone knew that Larry was pretty good At playing in the styles prior to fusion. But Larry himself didn't care to show anything to anyone... If he didn't play in this way for the people that didn't get to attend a concert of His in this form, well, it wasn't His fault... He was a free spirit
