- KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA is known for its amazing Malaysian food. But you can also find great Indian food and Chinese food in Malaysia. But I did not expect to find delicious Arabic food in Malaysia. Today, I eat at an Egyptian restaurant in the heart of Kuala Lumpur called Alhufra. I was simply blown away by the friendliness of this family and the taste of this food. I simply didn't know Malaysia had flavours like this. This is one of the best authentic Arabic restaurants in Kuala Lumpur.

Wow love to try those food one day. Don'y have to go to Middle East..you can find food from all over the world in KL.
When ordering drinks in Malaysia, best to remember and tell the waiter or staff to put less sugar or no sugar. Even us, locals do it often.
exactly! that is why I love Malaysia, you can travel just with food in one city
You can get cousine from Middle East, South Asia, Asia Pacific, Europe and etc in Kuala Lumpur
yes! it is so cool for that, I love it
Not surprising to find Middle Eastern food in KL. There're quite a few ME food stalls right on Jl Bukit Bintang.
yeah and the food is so delicious :)
Thank you for this wonderful video.
my pleasure!

oh, I will give that on a try next time too - thank you for the tip

Yeah you’re right, I really like it down at the southern border, later in the yea till have videos from the Deep South of Thailand,
It depends on which part of Thai south you are talking about. Southern Thailand shares border with 4 Malaysian states i.e. Perlis and Kedah is next to Satun. Perak is next to Yala and Kelantan is next to Narathiwat.
Satun was once part of kingdom of Kedah (as was Perlis). Kedah used to pay tributes to the kingdom of Siam until Anglo-Thai treaty of 1909. Therefore, the cuisines of Satun would be very similar to Kedah and Perlis.
Yala, Narathiwat and Patani were once part of independent Patani kingdom until it was conquered by the kingdom of Siam (Ayutthaya dynasty) in the late 18th century. Kelantan and these three provinces shared a lot of cultural practices including cuisines and also the same Malay dialect. So it is not surprising their cuisines are similar except that Kelantanese cuisines are sweeter (they love sugar).
If you go down to the state of Terengganu (south of Kelantan), the cuisines are also almost similar where you can get nasi dagang and nasi kerabu among others. Terengganu’s cuisines however are less sweet.
The cuisines of north Perak is quite similar to Yala but then north Perak is sparsely populated due to its hilly terrain.
Nowadays, due to migrations southern Thai cuisines are available all over peninsular Malaysia.
Wow, thats a gorgeous place and you had a private opportunity to have some good interesting vistas inside the kitchen ! Absolutely mouth watering food, some i know, some are specially new. Good you find such place in amaizing Malaysia KL! Thanks alot 🙏👍😍Joe interesting facts and a very special encounter with lovely appeticing food !😋
yeah, I just love being invited into the kitchen and seeing how things happen in there. I really enjoyed that meal and hospitality.
All looks super delicious
It was! really really tasty
Definitely one of my favorites. Watching you eat Arabic food trigger my decision for tonight's dinner 😅. Their outlets are everywhere even in a small town like mine, situated away further from KL has at least three Arabic restaurants within 3 km radius
that is great! what did you have?
@@hungrytoexplore I am eating lamb zurbiyan with kunafa as dessert.
Delicious meal Joe. I love the food options in Malaysia for sure. Was this entire meal promoted by the restaurant?
Me too, such variety and deliciousness whenever you go. haha I wish it was promoted. I simply ordered what my stomach craved, it rarely serves me wrong.
Joe, you did such a great job representing this establishment and your appetite was huge. Well done👏@@hungrytoexplore
if you like middle eastern food, please try Al-Rawsha near Pandan Roundabout in KL..could be pricey but portion is big and taste very good.
thank you for the recommendations :) is it your favourite?
yes one of my favourite..the place is big too@@hungrytoexplore
Hiya Joe, epic post
the meal was epic in itself haha!
That kunafa looks amazing! It reminds me of baklava with the crushed nuts on top. Can't wait to give it a try next time I see it on a menu!
it was really tasty... but I must admit, you cannot beat it with thick cream inside.
Well done…great video, but you forgot to share the price for that generous meal (that could probably feed 3 ppl) 😎
Haha that’s because he didn’t charge me so I don’t know what it cost 😅
@@hungrytoexplore Ah! Lucky 👌👌
Because of this video I'm craving for hummus and flat bread 😂
hahaha sorry about that :)
Yummy
😋
The restaurant shows permanently closed on google maps
oh no!!! It was so delicious
maybe it was closed during covid and now re-opened..
It's closed down. What a shame. The food looks amazing.
Are u going to make a trip to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur?
ah, not this time. I have been to Singapore before and love it though
สวัสดี ครับพี่Joe น่าเทียว มากครับ
thank you :)
สวัสดียินดีต้อนรับ
Thank you
Are you giving up posting videos from Thailand?
I’m not giving up, there will be more videos in the future. I have about 15-20 videos left from Thailand. But I’m not a Thai channel so inevitably it will end
@@hungrytoexplore when will you release them?
@@starkfamily898 probably after Malaysia, Taiwan and South Korea now
@@hungrytoexplore what a pity! That's too long.
