Once again, you have beaten another sadistically difficult Konami arcade game, Jail Break. After 2 decades, i finally get to see the conclusion! Once again, CONGRATULATIONS!

One of the best games ever made lol.
This is a very hard game. I remember playing it at a cafe in Italy - spend a few coins on this one.
You'd think that cop would call for backup.
But hey, the escapees are all wearing ball and chains!
Memories ! My saturdays afternoon in arcade room when i was teen.
This game was ridculously difficult, I never got past the first level when I used to play it in the arcades years ago. Preferred Green Beret and Yie Ar Kung Fu though, only because I was better at it
This & Gun smoke were two of the hardest games back in the 80`s, best I did was level 2 on Jail break.
Eventually reached level 10 on Gunsmoke & when I finally defeated the Wingate family, just a static screen with a white horse saying CONGRATULATIONS was a bit anti climatic, but the buzz I got was unreal.

I am gobsmacked! This game is hideously difficult but you breezed through it like it was Tetris! Great job! As usual for these 80's games though, the ending is always an anti-climax! Just a quick animation and the credits roll.
Nice. Never got past the first stage when i played the original game in the arcades.
I like the detail that the ruffians shooting from the windows turn into pacifistic transvestites after being shot.

Irochi Yes when i played this as a kid i always made the naked girl appear lol
+Irochi The sprites are recolored in the Xbox 360/PC version available in Game Room so that they wear blue dresses.

Me and my brother used to play this at our local arcade. we did beat the game couple of times. its amazing to see how it lags at the same point exactly as i remember. btw stage 3 cleared perfectly as soon as you rescue the lady. I used to love killing the shooters on the ship's windows.
One of the hardest arcade games that i now enjoy on mame 32.

Thx for putting this video up Mameplayer and taking my challenge, this is one of the hardest games at the arcades i've known. To date nobody i know has ever completed this and ive tried countless times without luck. You truely are a gifted player.
Ended this game so many time , there was a glitch in the game if you hit the warden with the tears gas he was going to die.
I would have been cool if they would added Thin Lizzy's jailbreak song to this game.
I remember playing this game at a pizza place in Santa Barbara when I was a kid.
used to work in a bar late 80's and we would play this game daily. eventually did the whole thing back to the beginning!

I remember this game as a kid, the most difficult part was changing guns fast enough to shoot down the crims, but at last, I could just move the officer in a fashionable order, and just war with the jailbird's ha ha ha xo xo xo xo xo
Thanks for posting,,,this is the first time i"ve seen this game since i was a very young boy,,,i remember me and my friends standing at the arcade game seeing the "breasts" appearing in this game,,,"wow" as we stared at the screen,,,,strange how you remember seeing this games after all the years.
Definitely has a Rush N Attack vibe aka Green Beret to our friends across the Atlantic (I think the Green Beret name was used in some computer ports here in the USA, but I may be mistaken) .
One of the hardest action Arcade game ever made even the AVGN should have a look.
Weren't old arcade games great? Assuming you could make it through to the end, this game only last ten minutes.
As for me, I can't make it but 20 seconds in, I'm pretty horrible at this game.

Was there a setting with limited ammunition? I seem to remember not being able to shoot after a while when I played this as a kid.
daveincognito There's no limited ammunition however if you accidentally shoot a hostage you'll lose one of the special weapon you got.

SIX prisoners broke the jail after killing TWO officers and then ONE officer starts killing all the criminals in the city to capture FOUR with a bazooka and grenade launcher (standard issue weapon)
