@xXTrueSShotX @gweflj On BMWs that little knob is there for the ventilation feature. Basically it brings in outside air or heat from the engine bay, and those dials are there just to control what vents it comes through and how fast, etc. This car doesn't have A/C, but they kept that there so you can at least get some fresh air at speed :-)
BMW's act of building this thing is a proper way to celebrate 25 years of M3. Yeah, I would probably stick with a GT3 RS for the money, or excuse me for a saying it but, a Nissan GTR would certainly suffice. Can't wait to see that orange blur down the streets lol.
@riorin8829: Reasons: -1) normaly aspirated engines (GT3 RS + BMW) vs turbocharged on the Nissan GTR. -2) RWD on both german cars vs 4WD on the japanese Either way, it is all about driver involvment, handling, throttle response... in other words just how good they feel to drive. That's the reason why a GTR with all its nannying electronics will never come close as a driver's car. Light is right!
@kisseryeap its gts (Grand Tourismo Sport) dude. everything goes on a diet to focus on the performance for GT races and not the daily driven facilities of a normal bmw, Some companies have it "RS" some others GTS some others Type Rs. basically it means "Racing Spirit or Sprint or Sport" for the S on different companies. That allows them to build almost the same looking car but with lightweight pieces on it, better suspension and gearbox, more grip and stability. GT acceleration and no...a/c :)
Somehow i think they should have made it ligther +1500 KG that still a bit to much for such a big pricetag IMO. Looks great thou. And yea a 90 sec review seems a bit too less for a real road burner.
So they went from the old CSL that cost 41000 or so, to this new version, that admitidely is faster and a bit more focused, but have increased the price to a staggering 116000?! They went on the same principles as the CSL, less weight, more power, better setup in terms of chasis... So how does this car see it's triple the standard cars price tag? Porsche have given you a better car at a cheaper price tag?! Plus you could get any host of exotics in this price range!
i love this car... but makes me think, why not just buy a normal M3 (if you can even put the word normal in front of M3)... and just strip it / supercharge it for probably less than this, for more power, and more customizability? maybe even keep air conditioning...
90 second reviews on something like a Renaul Twingo (still an awesome little car) are fine, but a BMW M3 GTS??? Seriously this car needs more time than that.
I'm going to have to disagree. I'm sure it's fun, but the price is a rip off. Not only is the GT3 faster so is a GT-R both of which will show this thing their tail lights all day. This is a 3-star car.
i don't understand.. why does car companies like BMW and the porsche needs to reduce weight .. to make it faster?... loook at the GTR!.. it's so fast.. but it isn't a light car. it has AC and everything..
90 seconds is enough, 4.5 stars is too much, yes it is a great car but the value for money and practicality should bring it down to around 3 stars... i mean who in his right mind would choose this over an 911 GT3 RS
You could achieve the exact same thing yourself by stripping out an M3. Why pay such an obscene amount for a mildly tweaked M3. Besides, the GT3 RS is a quicker, better value car. I'm an M3 fan but the price is silly.
It would have be 5 stars if BMW (as much as I love them), weren't so greedy, in the end they took much more out of the car than they added and if it came with A MANUAL F***ING GEARBOX. It's the same shit with the CSL... Why doesn't it have a MANUAL. It's not that f***ing difficult to make a good fun sportscar. And BMWs have the best layout for that. I hope it makes sense. I'm really high right now
if you are after a driving experiance ariel atom supercharged would jizz all over this for a quater of the money why make the sacrafice then you can still have a gtr for pottering about in
Good to see you back making videos, Steve! I love this video!!!!!

@gweflj No, on the knob you can see the BLUE which indicates the cooling of the air conditioning im pretty sure.
Chrome wont get you home. BMW M3 GTS is a perfect example of that - pure racing.

M3 for fun time in circuits!!
@Chil1i the exclusivity of the M3 GTS is worth more than your extra 10k you have to spend over the GT3 RS... it's a bargain in that sense.
this car is very nice. bmw is perfect! m3 too!
i hope this car is in GT5 released Nov

@OTKSenior Quality is better than quantity
@DocWolph
The Boss 302R is a race car and not road legal.
dear autocar, which do you prefer the 911 or the m3
Take it to the track and do a full review!
Somehow i think they should have made it ligther +1500 KG that still a bit to much for such a big pricetag IMO. Looks great thou. And yea a 90 sec review seems a bit too less for a real road burner.
German engineering in the house! :D
I'll have me just a normal M3 and take the money I saved and invest in a AA stage 2 super charger ;) 620 hp and enough left to buy another M3 still :b
So they went from the old CSL that cost 41000 or so, to this new version, that admitidely is faster and a bit more focused, but have increased the price to a staggering 116000?! @Molo9000 And you think anyone would actually drive an M3 GTS on the street? They'll all be in collections or trailer and/or track queens anyway.
@kelloggcerealxoxo like the man said. the boss 302 is not street legal.
i love this car...
but makes me think, why not just buy a normal M3 (if you can even put the word normal in front of M3)... and just strip it / supercharge it for probably less than this, for more power, and more customizability? maybe even keep air conditioning...
I'll take the 911 GTS! Porsche's are breathtakinly beautiful and unique, while everyone has a BMW...which looks like a sedan.
@khunopie The 4 seconds was for the intro.
I want to see it drifting!
Why dont they just call it the e92 csl?
90 second reviews on something like a Renaul Twingo (still an awesome little car) are fine, but a BMW M3 GTS??? Seriously this car needs more time than that.
116K Pounds. That's $230K USD. I could buy an entire line of new BMW's with that money, and throw in all the extras.
the spoiler looks like something from halfords
And a Boss 302R would still eat that thing for lunch.
@agello24 nissan gtr does 0-60 in 2.9 seconds this is not getting close to a gtr plus the gtr is cheaper thats always a factor
@kelloggcerealxoxo HA. no its not its actually way different. ive seen the separate engineering to create this car
No AC.?
I have an M3 but rather get a plain GT3 for the money
As much as an M3 fan I am I would take the GT3 RS because it's cheaper and faster.
it would be more focused if it had no t/c no abs no stability and a real maual
Yeah just way too money- I'd even pick the standard 991 GT3 over the GTS- although a 4.0 997 GT3 RS is my dream car. haha
u could buy a 2nd hand F430 with THAT amount of money
90sec review series are too short!!
why not get a nissan gtr for half the price?
why wouldnt u take advantage of this and make it at least 5 minutes
I'm going to have to disagree. I'm sure it's fun, but the price is a rip off. Not only is the GT3 faster so is a GT-R both of which will show this thing their tail lights all day.
This is a 3-star car.
@ViperVenomACR yeh ikr.
i don't understand.. why does car companies like BMW and the porsche needs to reduce weight .. to make it faster?... loook at the GTR!.. it's so fast.. but it isn't a light car. it has AC and everything..
116k for an M3? INSANE!
Autocars copies images from an other video.
0:02 Number plate: M XP 4698
1:22 Number plate: M XP 4699
@ausscare
I'd just get the 911 GT3RS and keep the $10,000 cuz the GT3RS is good on it's own hehe :)
Porsche > BMW any day
90 seconds is enough, 4.5 stars is too much, yes it is a great car but the value for money and practicality should bring it down to around 3 stars... i mean who in his right mind would choose this over an 911 GT3 RS
Just 190 mph (305 km/h) ?! Standard M3 can do moreee...
why the color orange..what is this nickalodeon's race car..lol
@Chil1i but i would still take the 911 GT3 RS haha
wohoo..
porsche for the win
Thumbs up if you love the 4 Bonus Seconds! TGIF!
needs more than a 90 second review.
WTF you could get an aston martin for that!!!
Because only 150 were built.
Half a star.Too expensive,it has a bmw badge, that means the price goes up 200% just because of that.
this is basically M3 with a spoiler and x2 the price...
@TheDawgDEANO Apparently your girlfriend has been telling people that all you need is 90 seconds, DAWG!
they are all sold! :/
@ryanazarko says who? You? Do you own a Porsche? dont think so...
You could achieve the exact same thing yourself by stripping out an M3. Why pay such an obscene amount for a mildly tweaked M3. Besides, the GT3 RS is a quicker, better value car. I'm an M3 fan but the price is silly.
only 2 things wrong : no manual and AC
@ryanazarko I'm 19 and whatever....
I bet it's a 20 year old banger or something
but sure, you don't have to convince me...
no manual. come on bmw!
Mental!
the more you pay, the less you get
Who is the stupid that though 90 seconds for a supercar would be enough?
@jo05dk steve doesnt care about youtube trolls like you, if you want a more in depth verdict buy the magazine
@ryanazarko but it will beat the crap out of a nissan GT-r
I rather buy a 2nd hand E46 CSL
@nikothecrazygreek But that wouldn't make it faster.
it's 94 seconds
i'll take the audi R8 V10, faster and without a doubt as good as for handling and confidence with all the long drand tourer comfort
..or you could get two Nissan GTRs :)
as soon as i saw the price i stopped the video
Autocar missed the chance to bring a good review about this car. 90 sec. are simply to less, so this review was pointless.
I'm really high right now
gas mileage is poor than 5000cc mustang. even not that faster than way much cheaper GT500.
these stripped cars are for rich people :-(
@ryanazarko Ok, make a video about it, then I'll believe you.
track day car...
lol 4.5 for that...
Like they have fucking Prius ad's before this. Worst ever. Oh well. Great car! (BMW).
Who the fuck cares about practicality when you buy the M3 GTS???
A GT3 (RS) does everything even better with radio, sat nav and climate control. Utter FAIL this car.
@TheDawgDEANO don't watch it then you peanut..
you are always difficult to hear!
hOt
@xXTrueSShotX Isn't that just a heater???
1530kg's is too heavy for a trackday special. Just think of the Exige or indeed, 911. that money would buy.
GT3RS wins
1st :D
if you are after a driving experiance ariel atom supercharged would jizz all over this for a quater of the money why make the sacrafice then you can still have a gtr for pottering about in
