Living in the US vs Spain (10+ Years Thoughts)

  • Some things I learned about the US after living 10+ years in Spain are that it's a great place to work, sports are huge, amazing nature, variety of choices... Overall, I chose to stay in Spain because I feel it's safer, more socially developed, and at the end of the day we need social interaction more than big skyscrapers. We need to be around people more. If you have ever wanted to travel, JUST GO! The two things I recommend is 1. Positive Attitude 2. Open Mind.
If you have those two things you'll discover stuff you never knew existed.
Thanks for your time and your attention! Have a good day,
    Ross

    Malagueña!
Andalucia in October is sounding pretty tempting again...

US is the most beautiful country in terms of nature or natural beauty.

In business, the USA is the land of freedom, but not only for you, but also for everyone else. That means too many people are competing to do the same businesses. In Spain with €40 you can start your business in 48 hours. It is not a big problem.
That there is a barrier to entry is good, because it leaves out many competitors.
In Spain there are more fees, but you receive services such as quality healthcare, which in the USA has to pay more money than the fees you pay in Spain, to receive the same service. Health insurance in the USA, which gives you the same as in Spain, without co-payments, without pre-existing diseases, and without deductibles, could cost more than $2,000 per month.

Yes, thank you for your comment and for watching. I forgot to mention the healthcare in Spain...a huge plus! Un saludo

Hey Ross! Really dig your videos as I can relate to this same experience of leaving the States and living in Spain for almost a decade. So glad supermarkets have started stocking pb! 🤣

Thank you Shola! Glad to see a fellow expat, we are a rare breed :P The weird thing is (you'd probably agree) I've gotten so used to pan con aceite y tomate that I tend to eat that more now haha

@ I ate traditional Spanish breakky during the first few years, but now I'm back to my American bodybuilder style meals. 🤣 I much prefer proats, avocado or pb toast.

The United States has all kinds of nature, but the problem is that it is very big. Not many families can travel that far to see some of the beautiful places in the USA. Spain is the country with the most biosphere reserves in the world, and one of the most varied climates. The country has the only desert in Europe, it is the second most mountainous country in Europe, and the one with the most blue flag beaches on the planet.
The advantage is that it has a quality public transportation system and you can go from one part of the country to another in an hour by plane, or in 4 hours by high-speed train and at very low costs.

I would love to see more natural landscapes in Spain. What would be your #1 recommendation?

Hey Ross, especially Spain has a lot of grand natural landscapes, mountains and pastures. Obviously You have never been outside of towns. When You stay in New York, you never see the Grand Canyon.

    •  4 місяці тому +1

Hi Fernando. Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, I see your point and you're right - I think maybe I didn't explain it well. I meant to say that within towns at least where I've been there's more nature, and in general the vastness of the wilderness seems bigger there, but that's just my take. Thanks again and have a good day!

Hacer pausas.😅
