I'm so happy you girls finally reacted to this. The look he gives at the end when he opens his eyes to take a deep breath is priceless. The interesting thing is at the beginning he said someone was trying to sell him Lead Belly's guitar for $500,000. Turns out the guitar Kurt played during this performance auctioned off at $6 million!
I literally LOVE that part and always force ppl to watch it, some who aren't in love with nirvana as much as I am think I crazy, but that look just goes right into my soul!
I was in college when this came out and my roommates and I were sitting around in the living room drinking beer and watching and for most of this whole show we were just speechless, but when he started singing this song you could hear a pin drop. We knew we just witnessed something memorable.
So happy you all reacted to this. I’m 34 and I remember seeing this when I was 8 or 9. I didn’t understand what I was watching. But I knew I was drawn in. For a man he valued his privacy, he put every single emotion into this performance and this song shows it. That moment he opens his eyes, just letting you in to see into his soul and feel that pain. Amazing, heartbreaking, and one amazing performance. Now as I wipe my tears away lol, amazing job ladies, as always. You rule!!! Always listen to a band recorded before unplugged, there are so many great unplugged performances you have to see!!!
If you imagine that some songs, like this one, You Know You're Right, and Heart Shaped Box, are probably about Courtney, then you can feel that his emotions are real, and it's not just a song.
And just in case your wondering at the start who they were talking about. David Geffin is the CEO of their record company and is a multi billionaire. And Ledbelly is the guy that wrote and performed this song back in the 1920's I believe.
Great reaction ladies you totally got the intensity and emotion of the track. I saw them live in December 1991 on the Nevermind tour. They did about an hour smashed the equipment and went off it was an amazing show. This song always brings a tear to my eye as it brings back memories of Nirvana and Kurt. It is 30 years since I saw them live but will never forget Kurt. Amazing reaction thanks for sharing.
You two HAVE to listen to Hotel California by the Eagles. One of the most iconic songs from the 70s. If you don't I will hold my breath until I pass out!! :D
Thank you for another great reaction! Sadly, I never got to see Nirvana perform live, but at least I get to see you reacting to their songs, so that is almost as good! Keep on branching out like this, exploring more and different music - you do very well at it! And since I know Juliet likes voices please give "Mmm Mmm" by Crash Test Dummies a try. When you hear Brad Roberts sing you will just melt! And don't forget to update your opening photo montage one day! Peace to you both - stay safe!
I was into Metal but wasn’t a fan cause I liked other bands at the time. But after he passed I listened to some of his others songs and I got attached. RIP to him.
I've seen/heard this performance a hundred times and I still get chills everytime he opens it up at end. I bet you'd love this whole MTV Unplugged performance of you watched it. Widely regarded as one of the best performances Nirvana ever did.
Great reaction girls. This whole unplugged is incredible but this track is so emotional because of what soon followed. .... and that background is fantastic.
When he starts screaming it showcases the pain and torment that he was really unfortunately dealing with. And his last gaze at the camera or audience was very emotional for me personally. Kurt was truly a beautiful soul..RIP Kurt!
Epic end to that show 🔥 underrated best cover ever 🔥 ♥ ♥ ♥ I play the entire album of this unplugged every morning on Sunday's it's not the only cover they do on this unplugged special ♥
This concert was done almost 6 months before he died and Kurt said in an interview just after the concert that he was completely sober during that performance for the first time in a long while.
Y'all do a great job with your reaction videos. My daughter's about your ages and she loves the great classic rock from my generation and it's great seeing younger people experiencing the music i grew up on. I'm early 50s now and the music i was brought up with was from the very beginning of rock n roll in the 50s til the early 90s and that's the best music ever! I'd like to request a song from my favorite band ZZ TOP- "My heads in Mississippi" please . All of their music is great. They're a Texas band with a combination of rock, blues and a little country and They're a phenomenal band. I know their music, I just want Y'all to get to experience and enjoy it as well. Keep up the great work and keep on rockin! Thanks much, enjoy!
Loved it girls! It's such a shame MTV has drifted so far away from its roots. You got to see and get up close to some of the greatest bands as was with Nirvana. I remember that Unplugged Episode. It was truely one of the best. Luckily with video you are able to do with your AWSOME channel. I would love to see you react to more unplugged videos. Excellent Reaction as always..❤❤❤⚘⚘⚘
Watching you enjoy these moments all over again brings a smile to my face. It's great to know that Kurt is still appreciated just as much as he was when this first aired. I remember hearing his voice on the radio for the first time. It was so unique. I'd never heard any other voice like his, and I never have since. It drew me in right away and has never stopped. He was such an amazing person and will forever be missed. I almost can't remember what it was like while he was still here. It was too short and too easy to take for granted. Your appreciation for his music surely helps him to live on. ❤️
Goosebumps...every time i hear this song. So powerful. What a performance ....Please do "The man who sold the world (the same concert, a great David Bowie Cover). Great Reaction young ladies.
This song has such a special place in my heart. I was 14 years old, it was 1995. I was painting the side of a house with my mate (my first paid "job") and all we had was the Unplugged album and Vitalogy by Pearl Jam on cassette (!) and we listened to the two albums over and over for hours while painting. The first time I heard this song, I can't even explain how it made me feel

This is the song that brought me to tears during this set! Such a raw, emotional performance from Kurt here.. literally sends chills down my spine every single time
Nice reaction to a such amazing song, still to much to discover from Nirvana, I'd like to suggest for the next: "Lake of Fire" from the same Unplugged Show. Greetings Ladies.

Just as it was seeing their video smells like teen spirit in MTV in '91, i was 10 years old then but it made me feel as you do now. It's amazing to see that how i felt as it was happening, still resonates today.
This was the last song. Kurt was asked to do an encore but refused saying as long as I live I will never top this. He died 6 months later. You have to do Man Who Sold The World next.
This was a Leadbelly song. Go back and hear him sing it, and Gallis Pole (that led Zeppelin covered on LZ III). The story and history of modern music is an amazingly rich mosaic across cultures and decades and people and movements. I've been following it for fifty years and discovering gems even now.
