Steve: *staring down at a box full of decorations* *reaches in* Okay we've got some glass ornaments some red, green, nice; Flour ornaments- shelf stable, nice. String lights- standard. Oh This one's a snowflake, heh. Alright! Let's get this out onto a tree, *jumpcut to fully decorated tree* Nice!
Some of us who played too much hockey prefer the softer jerky. It's hard to eat the tougher stuff with summer teeth. summer there, some ain't. I used to make teriyaki squirrel jerky all the time and I'd make a batch of the tougher stuff, and some softer. It's just a matter of how long you leave it in the dehydrator. I imagine the tougher stuff lasts a lot longer having more moisture removed.
steve i dont know why but i feel the need to comment on every 1 of your vids just to show my gratitude. keep making them dude and we'll all keep watchin........
Everything smells like maple… Even our money smells like maple. And the thing to do with the jerky is hold it in your mouth for a while and some juices out of it before you start chewing.
Its funny to hear him talk about jerky hahahaha im not sure he even likes it hahahaa jack links isnt jerky..... this was one of the best jerkies ive seen on here. Proper jerky. #CANADA
Same. I usually have some on longer hikes to gnaw on-- it keeps your mouth moist and gives you something to eat while you're moving. I expect that's the idea behind the ration, too.
Hey Steve, just a little insight: In the CAF, while rat heaters aren't given with the meal, I've never been out with a unit that doesn't have them. We issue the same ones as the American MREs have, and sometimes green bag ones.
Boomabanga sweet meats, the way to go. I've done the same with jam and spam. Dick's Wings has a raspberry wing sauce to die for, especially if you mix in a little ground pepper.
SigEpBlue C'est une langue commerciale , concue pour etre simple et pas avoir trop de mot dans leur vocabulaire , chose qu'on peut facilement se rendre compte en comparant avec le francais :P
I have driven to Canada several times for the specific purpose of buying pork breakfast sausages. They are absolutely fantastic with a light maple flavor and better than anything in the US.
I read a comment on another UA-cam video that said that the particular species of rat the McRib was made from has been driven to extinction, hence it's absence. Sad.
Why do I like these MRE videos so much? I can just sit and watch them all day. I've never been in the army, I don't watch unboxings or anything, Just these MRE videos!
this is by far the best breakfast item for the IMP. We always tried to get these when I was doing my infantry officer course. I traded two packs of smokes for this once...
I never got beef jerky on any IMP's that I ate, as an Air Cadet. And the peanut butter came in a tube....same with the honey. Then there was the loaf of bread. Loved the Beans & Weiners, Chilli Concarne and the Salisbury Steak.
Legend has it that mustard packet still roams around Steve's house at odd hours of the night, even to this day, eerily chanting "open meeee, open meeee and add me to sausagessss"
I would take that stale jerky and put it in the beverage bag with about a tablespoon of hot water and put it in an inside pocket for a while, to rehydrate a little. Jerky only stays "fresh" (moist) for about 6 months on the shelf, though it is obviously still edible. Great review!
Man, you're really cranking out the content Steve! It's like an early Christmas present for everyone! I loved this look at a modern IMP (especially since I still haven't had a chance to try out one of the breakfast menus yet). Also, you made a great off-the-cuff remark about the sports drink that I've never thought of actually mentioning in any of my reviews. I like to add less water than recommended because I actually like to taste the flavor and don't really want it watered down. It's partially because I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but also, like you said, since it's a review you're not as interested in or concerned with hydration as much as wanting to describe the taste to the viewers.
Oh man, I can't wait to see the Poutine review! That's right up at the top of my IMP wish list (along with Chicken Cordon Bleu). I only had poutine for the first time last year while vacationing in Canada and can't wait to see that the IMP version is like! I'll be staying tuned in for something new...or old!
If you're American Seamus, you have NO goddamn right to mock ANY other country's leader. And our PM is about to legalize weed nationwide, so stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it. Literally. ;-)
Exidy YT key word... about... to.... I'll believe it when I see it... so far he's the pm of empty promises and a tax over load....is didn't vote for him.... fuck that guy
idk what it is about these videos, but I love them. I guess it's because they got kind of a 90's feel, and I like the element of opening a gift that comes from opening the packages and the weird kind of funny way Steve talks. Either way, I love it. Good stuff. Cheers
Those IMP Breakfast Sausages is my favorite thing to have for breakfast when we went out on the field when I was apart of the Royal Canadian Aircadet Program.
1. That jerky actually reminded me of how jerky used to be in the seventies, dry and tough. 2. I think Steve's camera wishes it had taste buds. Except for other MRE videos where it is thankful not to have them.
Canadian MREs definitely look like they'd be my favorite.. plus maple is basically my favorite flavor in the world.. all that plus Trailer Park Boys make Canada definitely seem like a dope place to live.. 😁👍👌✌
Steve I really appreciate these videos..wanted you to know. You have me really intrigued and just wanted to say thank you..LOVE THEM ALL. My partner and myself are BIG fans.
Thank you so much for all your uploads i enjoy watching, the way you film videos and your commentary is relaxing to me yet descriptive and entertaining your channel is the best.
Your videos are really great, and your voice is so relaxing I really enjoy listen you describing this food like it's some gourment food. I wasn't really into watching MRE but way you are doing it is really awesome, keep on !
Next time I have breakfast sausages, I'm putting them on a toasted hamburger bun with honey. You come up with some great and unique culinary ideas almost every day, Steve.
Love your videos Steve! I'm 62, and growing up in the 50's, 60's jerky was always dryer than a popcorn fart. It's only been the last few years that jerky became 'moist'. Been watching Steve for about a month now and I just wanted to say that I love his reviews. Steve you really provide knowledgeable and concise explanations. You draw me in with this nice guy demeanor that I believe is true. The amount of shout outs you do is impressive but, one of my favorite things is the music. It's my understanding that you made the music yourself. If so that's truly impressive. One word to describe it would be "Nice". Please keep up the good work and know that it's appreciated!!
"Army Mocha" - we used to make those in the breakroom at the office too. Never called it army mocha before, but I will now. Because mocha brings comfort when you're trapped in your cubicle and being forced to print out TPS reports.

@gayle do you mind if i share your comment on facebook, best comment i've seen in a long time and is it flour or flower ornaments?
:D I don't mind, thank you! It's flour ornaments, like those kind you make with flour and water as a kid, bc they remind me of hardtack lol!
thanks gayle and you're welcome i see @ flour ornaments
@@Gayle1661 you look like what I like to eat!! Nice I'd love to get you onto a trey!!😘
thank u
Canadian here chiming in on the beef jerky. Oddly enough, that's how most of our beef jerky is like and how we like it!
Yeah, exactly. Where did this "dried beef jerky must be soft" cult come from? In my experience the real deal is hard and chewey.
Beef jerky is SUPPOSED to be dry!
Yep. I’ve never had wet soft beef jerky. Steve might be thinking of a Slim Jim.
@@tcschenks just gotta bite with the grain

Everything smells like maple… Even our money smells like maple. And the thing to do with the jerky is hold it in your mouth for a while and some juices out of it before you start chewing.
everything here in argentina smells like dusty urban city at night for some weird reason.
OUR MONEY SMELLS LIKE MAPLE????????????????????????????????
happy bandaner
As in maple 🍁 syrup. At least when it's new.
That's oddly specific.
Its funny to hear him talk about jerky hahahaha im not sure he even likes it hahahaa jack links isnt jerky..... this was one of the best jerkies ive seen on here. Proper jerky. #CANADA
I actually really like super dry jerky.
Same. I usually have some on longer hikes to gnaw on-- it keeps your mouth moist and gives you something to eat while you're moving. I expect that's the idea behind the ration, too.
Me too, much prefer it.
dacasman with beer, right?
geeeeeenius!
No kidding. Its typical Canadian beef jerky.. everyones shocked when its not soft like a pepperette
Hey Steve, just a little insight:
In the CAF, while rat heaters aren't given with the meal, I've never been out with a unit that doesn't have them. We issue the same ones as the American MREs have, and sometimes green bag ones.

Perktube1 Aye Gotta agree. Fucking love chompin' on Dick's
jason walker Maybe add wings to that. Or dont all power to ya mate.
Sweet and salty is the best taste combination of all time.
I always put honey on sausage.
I love that "Hamburger Bun" in French is "Pain Hamburger".

We called that menu item the Bag of Dicks. There were rumors you could rehydrate the jerky in warm water, but I never had time.
Bacon Snot I always enjoy the colorful nicknames, lol.
Bag of dicks lmao
"Lets get it out on a tray" Nice!
Wayne Taylor I love how he says that
Leave it to Steve..wrangling IMP weenies on a shelf stable bun and topping it with honey...doing it up right!
Cool! Those apple slices were no slouch either! Not all dripping with sickening sweet sugar and cinnamon...Canada is...nice!
Steve1989 MREinfo The mustard would have put it over the top. After all, who doesnt like honey mustard?
Who doesn't like honey mustard? ISIS, that's who!
Leather boot consistancy? I wouldnt be suprised if Steve knew what leather boots taste like
I friggin love your videos man, you're the best :D
Yeah, he does a really good and entertaining job. I enjoy his videos as well.
Love them too, really 𝓝𝓲𝓬𝓮!

Steve1989 MREinfo thanks!
Steve1989 MREinfo Ill be sure to catch em, thanks for the response steve.
I have driven to Canada several times for the specific purpose of buying pork breakfast sausages. They are absolutely fantastic with a light maple flavor and better than anything in the US.
I love how you just love this stuff, it's so pleasant to see. I follow a lot of MRE reviewers but you're definitely the most enthusiastic one!
Hello from Canada
John McPherson same here
Were you guys hoping Steve gave it a good review, because Canada, too?

Who else is amused that it's in a brown paper bag?
That perfect rectangular shape is what gets me every time.
We like our bagged lunches up here :) . The beans and wieners and fantastic as well .
Ruby no
It's fake. Real ones aren't in brown paper bags, but in baskets weaved from dried maple leaves.
I'm more amused by the pain hamburgers.
Lets get it out to a tray!
Nice
He's almost like the Mr Rogers of MRI unpacking haha
OH MY GOD. That's what it is about it that made me feel comfortable watching these videos! Thanks for reminding me, Daniel!
neon NICE
With a slight Clint Eastwood undertone.
Am I the only one who finds his videos relaxing? If I am having a hard time falling asleep this is one of my go to channels. Love your content!
I can't believe you didn't make a honey-mustard sauce to go with your sausage sandwich...

WHERE’S THE MCRIB?!!
I figured they did. I love your videos, man. I’ve seen all of them at least a few times each. I’m so glad your channel is doing well!

Hi Steve ! glad u found some Canadian IMP , good video as always , hope you enjoyed our meal :)
"Individual Meal Pack, or IMP."
