Once I fully funded my Wise account I had the E-Wallet option and could send money over to gcash . Makes sense. Also, my interface looked a little different where I didn't put in the Country Code but just my 11 digit phone number for the account number. Probably something I did. Anyway, thanks for putting this video up. I for sure appreciate it.

Ive found it cheaper and faster to fund or add money to my wise account and then send it to the recipient or myself. Simply click on the currency of your choice, in my case its USD and select add. This will load money to your wise account for pennies. When you go to transfer it to the other person or yourself the fee is less than what you would pay for an ACH or Debit transfer from your bank and it will transfer the money much quicker from my experience.

Alex D, I think I like your technique. My US credit card offers free cash advance if paid before the billing cycle ends. Seems like I could use my credit card to fund my Wise account for free, But I would still be charged a fee from Wise, would that still be pennies? With Gios example fees total $1.36 to move money from his US account. to Wise, then to Gcash... Your method seems to suggest that that I "prefund" my Wise account and transfer the money later? Gios is charged $1.36, How much less would you guess the fees would be If I just prefunded and used the money later? Apparently its cheaper to carry a Wise account balance and transfer from that balance as needed.

Then I take it it’s like a gift card when you go to the store or where ever you hopefully have
A balance remaining? Also they scan your phone to pay the bill is that right? And is the sky the limit as far as how much money you can deposit into your account thank you

If I get a PH (smart or globe) eSIM, will I be able to setup a GCash and/or Maya from US before going to PH? I don’t want to be stuck setting things up while I’m there

Do you really need GCASH in Phil ? It seems that everything can be done with a WISE account and WISE ATM card which can hold amounts in pesos and then use those pesos to buy things either in cash or using the card. Can also transfer money etc. So I don’t see what GCASH gives me other than a secondary way of payment in case I lose the WISE card . Am I missing something?

      You don't necessarily need it.

@@GiointhePhilippines Maybe something for another video is having an offshore bank account and using it to invest in funds or stocks which pay dividends which can be received offshore tax free. For example HSBC does an xpat account which allows investments in Luxembourg which pay dividends with no tax liability etc
