With that said, if it was due to the sound of the toilet seat moving, that proves my point even more that the perpetrator is a monster. Of all of the things to complain about! I thought my relationship with my neighbors was strained . . . but clearly, not as bad as it can get.

A friend of mine is married to a cop in my hometown . One Thanksgiving he was working and got a call to a house and it was stated a baby was left at their front door step . When he got there he noticed the teen girl in the home was behaving strangely . In short- the girl was pregnant - made it full term and her family did not know . She gave birth in her room by herself - family didnt know and I guess were busy with the holiday festivities . When the baby started crying , she panicked and snuck out , again unnoticed , and put the baby on the front porch . I dont recall which family member found the baby and called the cops . I think about this every time I hear a story of a baby thats harmed .

Hm, I’ve never been anywhere near that shithole state and never will yet I’ve heard about the story… sometimes info is right there for the taking, media can’t force you to read every single article about every single atrocity taking place in our country. Especially in a place where literacy rates are so woefully low and poverty rates are right where the elite within the state want them to remain.

Because something kind of like this happened where I’m from and the only news of it was on a Facebook post from the police and people shared it because we went to school with her and she had some sort of mental disorder so everyone was so shocked. While arrest records are public, it's again ridiculous to expect ppl to check the police website on a daily basis. This is the first time I've heard of this story in detail. If that monster of a "mother" had just taken the baby to a hospital, police or fire station...they don't even require your name. You can have your baby at the hospital, use a fake name, have an epidural or medication, and then leave. I worked in the hospital for 10 years. I have personally gone in to draw a mother's blood and they were gone. I notified the nurse and the woman is in NO trouble. Well she doesn't have to worry about money or bills now. That poor baby. Gives me a horrible feeling 😞 😪 knowing that precious child's last moments. I have 3 kids...so I've had 3 newborns. All they want is milky and to be near you. 😢Ugh it's so frustrating and infuriating because she could have just dropped the baby at the hospital.

I at first thought that too but I come to learn that if the baby has any drugs in their system that mother that leaves the baby at the safe haven is charged and can go to jail so I think that may often be part of the problem. I feel like trash compactors should be equipped with some type of sensor that can sense signs of life: like body heat, maybe a heartbeat, something like that. I know most compactors would never need a sensor like that as it's not a common thing for living things to be inside a compactor but on the off chance that some horrible person throws their baby or an animal. Or even if someone gets trapped in one trying to retrieve an item, death by compactor is so horrific (imo) I feel like it's a expensive /safety feature that's worth requiring.
I love when the family or friends do all the work and the police swoop in at the end and take all the credit! And you can be squeaky clean and smoke pot, it's the violent predators and narcissists who can never be.

I am on methadone. It is a very potent synthetic opioid and should not be taken by anyone who isn’t addicted to opiates or who doesn’t need it for chronic pain. I have toddlers and keep mine locked tightly and would never let them even touch a bottle. If you’ve never taken it before and don’t have any tolerance to drugs, it’s extremely surprising they did not overdose. The fact he was able to make it into a gas is wild as well. I’m so glad they’re ok. Edit: I’d like to disclaim that I was on heroin when I found out I was pregnant with my twins. I went to the doctor, terrified. He advised me that a new methadone clinic had opened in our town, literally a month before, and that methadone would be the safest for me while pregnant. Being preggo with twins is already high risk so I was told that cold turkey heroin withdrawal could have really hurt them. Methadone also immensely helps my cravings. My baby boys were born healthy with no withdrawal symptoms. I’m truly blessed. I hope this man is terrified for his life every day in prison doing such an awful thing to a family.

Regarding the first story: even if the ban did influence the actions taken, I won't be surprised if the prosecution and media chooses to ignore that fact. Doubly so if that girl wasn't aware she COULD take her baby to the hospital. I'm unfortunately a resident of the south, and people don't like giving mothers options down here. Sex-Ed, Safe Haven laws, adoption -- what are those? Who knows! The people who are supposed to be teaching and protecting us sure won't tell us. You get knocked up down here, you apparently better buckle up for 18+ years of responsibility whether you can handle it or not. That ABSOLUTELY doesn't excuse trash-compacting a newborn, by the way. I know people get crazy when topics like this come up, but whether or not the mother was aware of or wanted to access her options will hopefully be brought up in her trial.
We live in the information age. There are ways to educate yourself. A 2 minute google search would give her options to leave it safely at a hospital. Instead this animal killed it

If you have to actively dig for your options when it comes to something as important as motherhood, I personally think that's a signal of deeper societal flaws at hand. Yes, the mother is guilty, and the fact that she possibly did not make an effort to seek out other options would condem her further, but we appear to have a rather narrow view of the situation at present.

However, if she somehow legitimately believed that was her only option (hormones and negligent education are a hell of a drug), that *should* at least be mentioned in trial. Regarding the last story- if the pilot was told to go into a “holding pattern” by terminal (or “orbit” by the tower controller), it’s typically an oval, circle or a racetrack shape, he/she doesn’t get to do whatever he/she wants without ATC permission LoL So either the pilot was in uncontrolled airspace or ATC gave them permission to do so in low traffic. In uncontrolled airspace, the pilot would have had to announce on the en-route frequency every turn he made. Even when dumping fuel, they fly in a specified pattern, but I highly doubt this pilot would do that since Italy & Malta are so close to each other & he/she would have taken enough fuel to get to their destination plus a little bit for possible diversions & missed approaches.

When I worked at a call center my coworker is part of the LGBTQ+ community and asked me if I was okay with her putting the flag on her cubicle (our cubicles were right by each other) I told her I had no problem with it some people can be so ignorant it's really sad😢

The first story is so anger inducing as a mother. She could have easily dropped off the baby at the fire station if she didn't want anyone to know about the birth or take care of the baby. In her state she can even wait up to 45 days no questions asked. SO many families want newborn babies and that baby could've had a long and happy life.

Because something kind of like this happened where I’m from and the only news of it was on a Facebook post from the police and people shared it because we went to school with her and she had some sort of mental disorder so everyone was so shocked. But it wasn’t on any news.

I'm disabled and have lots of free time to keep up with current events. Most people have jobs to go to and don't have the time to keep up. I'm the most informed person I know and yet I only know a fraction of what's happening around the world. While arrest records are public, it's again ridiculous to expect ppl to check the police website on a daily basis. This is the first time I've heard of this story in detail. I think Phil DeFranco mentioned it, but it was only talked about for about 90 seconds at the most. You should also know that keeping up with the horrors of humanity takes an emotional and mental toll. I have no love for the state of Alabama, but OP didn't choose their place of birth! 🤨🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
If that monster of a "mother" had just taken the baby to a hospital, police or fire station...they don't even require your name. You can have your baby at the hospital, use a fake name, have an epidural or medication, and then leave. I worked in the hospital for 10 years. I have personally gone in to draw a mother's blood and they were gone. I notified the nurse and the woman is in NO trouble. Well she doesn't have to worry about money or bills now. That poor baby. Gives me a horrible feeling 😞 😪 knowing that precious child's last moments. I have 3 kids...so I've had 3 newborns. All they want is milky and to be near you. 😢Ugh it's so frustrating and infuriating because she could have just dropped the baby at the hospital.
This is why abortion should be legal and segs education should be mandatory

I at first thought that too but I come to learn that if the baby has any drugs in their system that mother that leaves the baby at the safe haven is charged and can go to jail so I think that may often be part of the problem. I feel like trash compactors should be equipped with some type of sensor that can sense signs of life: like body heat, maybe a heartbeat, something like that. I know most compactors would never need a sensor like that as it's not a common thing for living things to be inside a compactor but on the off chance that some horrible person throws their baby or an animal. Or even if someone gets trapped in one trying to retrieve an item, death by compactor is so horrific (imo) I feel like it's a expensive /safety feature that's worth requiring.

You are at this rare nexus between the world of the free and the world of the imprisoned.

I am on methadone. It is a very potent synthetic opioid and should not be taken by anyone who isn’t addicted to opiates or who doesn’t need it for chronic pain. I have toddlers and keep mine locked tightly and would never let them even touch a bottle. If you’ve never taken it before and don’t have any tolerance to drugs, it’s extremely surprising they did not overdose. The fact he was able to make it into a gas is wild as well. I’m so glad they’re ok.
Edit: I’d like to disclaim that I was on heroin when I found out I was pregnant with my twins. I went to the doctor, terrified. He advised me that a new methadone clinic had opened in our town, literally a month before, and that methadone would be the safest for me while pregnant. Being preggo with twins is already high risk so I was told that cold turkey heroin withdrawal could have really hurt them. Methadone also immensely helps my cravings. My baby boys were born healthy with no withdrawal symptoms. I’m truly blessed. I hope this man is terrified for his life every day in prison doing such an awful thing to a family.

Regarding the first story: even if the ban did influence the actions taken, I won't be surprised if the prosecution and media chooses to ignore that fact. Doubly so if that girl wasn't aware she COULD take her baby to the hospital. I'm unfortunately a resident of the south, and people don't like giving mothers options down here. Sex-Ed, Safe Haven laws, adoption -- what are those? Who knows! The people who are supposed to be teaching and protecting us sure won't tell us. You get knocked up down here, you apparently better buckle up for 18+ years of responsibility whether you can handle it or not.
That ABSOLUTELY doesn't excuse trash-compacting a newborn, by the way. I know people get crazy when topics like this come up, but whether or not the mother was aware of or wanted to access her options will hopefully be brought up in her trial.
We live in the information age. There are ways to educate yourself. A 2 minute google search would give her options to leave it safely at a hospital. Instead this animal killed it

If you have to actively dig for your options when it comes to something as important as motherhood, I personally think that's a signal of deeper societal flaws at hand. Yes, the mother is guilty, and the fact that she possibly did not make an effort to seek out other options would condem her further, but we appear to have a rather narrow view of the situation at present.

However, if she somehow legitimately believed that was her only option (hormones and negligent education are a hell of a drug), that *should* at least be mentioned in trial. Won't absolve her of any responsibility, but I imagine that could be used to aim away from the death penalty.

Regarding the last story- if the pilot was told to go into a “holding pattern” by terminal (or “orbit” by the tower controller), it’s typically an oval, circle or a racetrack shape, he/she doesn’t get to do whatever he/she wants without ATC permission LoL
So either the pilot was in uncontrolled airspace or ATC gave them permission to do so in low traffic. In uncontrolled airspace, the pilot would have had to announce on the en-route frequency every turn he made.
Even when dumping fuel, they fly in a specified pattern, but I highly doubt this pilot would do that since Italy & Malta are so close to each other & he/she would have taken enough fuel to get to their destination plus a little bit for possible diversions & missed approaches.

The first story is so anger inducing as a mother. She could have easily dropped off the baby at the fire station if she didn't want anyone to know about the birth or take care of the baby. In her state she can even wait up to 45 days no questions asked. SO many families want newborn babies and that baby could've had a long and happy life.

This story happened in such a place. Lack of access to abortion leads to infant deaths 100% of the time.
No excuse. They have baby drop-offs as well, so abortion restrictions/bans have no bearing. Also, there are social services in Alabama that can provide her care and transportation to another state for an abortion. She really has no excuse
