Came to your channel for the MPC content. Subscribed after this video. Downloaded Koala on the imac. Looks like its designed for the iPad - Great work, Great skin as well, must purchase.....
Haha! This just came up randomly after some other video and I was like "hell yeah, I'll watch it again!" It's like UA-cam suddenly gets it! It was like "And now on BBC2, something else interesting you'll like." That's the UA-cam experience I want!
Defiant worth a try, it’s cheap and one of the quickest and easiest ways to get things going, I own multiple hardware samplers, MPC, K.O.II, SP404 MKII and this little app is still the quickest way for me to put beats together! 👍
Thanks, I do know that (hold edit), I was initially thinking of pitching at different rates per pad so I did it manually in this one but I appreciate the heads up! It’s a good tip. 👍
Hold edit and select the pads you want. This also works for most of the editing tools, attack etc. Unfortunately you can't keep them selected so you can try multiple pitches without having to reselect them all if that makes sense but I'm hoping that is introduced as an update.
@@nervouscookscan I ask why you use an audio interface with the iPad? Is that because you are using the Roland SP as well? Sorry, I’m just learning these things )
Nice! I imagine Wendy approves, as it's just as ground breaking as what she originally did at the time! As time goes on, I'm becoming more baffled as to why Marek hasn't implemented mono with glide, as if Koala is just an audio editor without the synth aspects of most samplers. It's the one thing I could use the most in Koala, since I've used it!
@@aikighost Interesting. I've made single cycle sounds just out of snippets fine without a filter envelope. I'd much rather be able to record a synth line or something as per a mono synth with glide, as an MPC does.
I’m not sure I’m breaking much ground but I do hope she would like it! I love that soundtrack and I love old documentaries on how these older sounds were created before today’s modern tech. I’m sure you have seen it but there is one called the ‘The new sound of music’ (1979) which shows some real early sampling with splicing tape amongst other things. Truly fascinating stuff! 👍
I used to stem out to Ableton and then mix from there, but to be honest I’ve started to just get as good as I can in Koala, bounce it down to one stereo file then open it up in Logic Pro (iPad version). I then use the auto mastering tool in there and do some very subtle tweaks to the high and low. I really just aim for simplicity these days. As long as it’s “good enough” I’m happy otherwise I dwell on it for too long! I’m actually surprised at how good the Logic master tool is. 👍
Good info, I hear you on the simplicity. I cant get into hardware I’m just more conformable on the computer. But man I need to get off it at times, I’m artist as well, so making physical art helps and when i want make music off the computer i find myself using the ipad more then any other hardware i have. Funny you bring up Logic Ipad, its amazing, been using for just a months now, by far one of the best music apps i have ever used. I never thought of just bring the koala track in to Logic ipad to edit. “just get as good as I can in Koala” well would love to see your processes on this sometime, My raw koala tracks seem to always sound little dull....Well thanks Brother!@@nervouscooks
in Koala, how can you record live the effects that you are using at the end of the video -when you are adding the effect to the entire song- and create a new song with the effects baked in? is it possible or do you have to run it live via a digital recorder a la Zoom R4 (in oder to remain dawless)? Great vid by the way.
Hey there you need to go to the main menu, press ‘Record Song’ it then waits for you to hit play before it records. You can then play your song in whatever format you like, one long sequence or multiple sequences whilst adding the effects like I did in the video. This is all recorded in to the final recording which you can export as a WAV file. 👍
Wow.....thats amazing.😮
Mom can we have a K.O. II?
Mom: No we have K.O. II at home
😂😂
Hahahahahaha
ha….love the Skin.
Thanks man 👍👍
Ya where is that available
Enjoyed that - thanks!

Gotta love that Clockwork Orange sample
I knew it .. great movie awesome sample
Haven’t gotten back to using Koala for a while, and this reminded me just how good it is! Nice work!
Thank you 👍

First time I clicked the bell tab in literally years
Well done as usual bro ! Super nice beat 🔥

Nice job 🔥
Thank you! The fader definitely works! 😂😂

Thank you! 👍👍
Brilliant as always. Even picked up a few tips from this one 👌
Thank you! 🙂
So inspiring man! Cool!
Goodness gracious me! How intuitive! Think I may of found the sequencer I'm looking for.

Just in case you don’t know you cam select multiple pads on the sample screen to adjust pitch all at once (or other parameters, buses etc).
Thanks, I do know that (hold edit), I was initially thinking of pitching at different rates per pad so I did it manually in this one but I appreciate the heads up! It’s a good tip. 👍
Pretty cool to see your process. Actually learned some things. The beat is tough too.
THe koala king 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! 👍
is there a way to pitch all auto chops at once, so you do not have to choose samples and change pitch for each individually?
Hold edit and select the pads you want. This also works for most of the editing tools, attack etc. Unfortunately you can't keep them selected so you can try multiple pitches without having to reselect them all if that makes sense but I'm hoping that is introduced as an update.
Nice good to know 🤙
The skin is crazy!
It’s sooo dope! What’s hub or audio interface do you use with iPad?
Thanks, I use a Kingston Nucleum hub 👍

The no1 thing Id like to see on koala is an adsr envelope on the filter, would be very appreciated for making single cycle based synth patches.

what mixing do you do before you export beat/stems to daw from koala, you have a video like that?

Just as dope as Necro's version... I can see Cage on this... right right!
Dope sample and beat cookup, I love the KO2 skin for Koala, too bad I have an iPad mini lol I need that for my phone and iPad
Thank you, unfortunately I can only build them for devices I own as I can’t get access to the user interface for other iPads etc.
Is this skin available for 11" iPad? Just got an iPad Air@@nervouscooks
@@DelainoBarris sorry, no. I can still only build for the 12.9 at the moment. 🙂
Broh! Whered you get that skin for koala?
I made it… you can find it here www.nervousville.art I have a bunch of skins there 👍
Hi your skin is compatible with ipad 10.2inch,
No sorry only 12.9 👍
Juste for 12.9 and 11 i was sée in urr website... Thanks man and great job... Peace
Can I get a skin like that but for a 10.2 inch regular iPad plz!
Sorry man I have no means or plans to make them for that size currently. If anything changes though I’ll let you know! 🙂
This one is only 12.9 right? I looked up the site and did not find the 11 one. I bought you a while ago an 11 one and adapted for my iPad. Thanks!
@@jerecurci yeah man, I lost access to the 11” versions so I can only build for the 12.9 just now. 👍
🔥🔥🔥
how does your skin look on ipad mini? don't wanna waste $
Probably not good, it’s not going to line up properly. I can only design for what I own and at the moment that’s only the 12.9
Im gonna put it in the universe You will make your own koala based app in 2025 or 6
That skin 😂
