Just want to give you a compliment. You're such a good planner and charming :). In order to make a video complete from cutting, showing different ways of propagation until they turn to a fully mature plant, you have been waiting and used up 4 months to share this with us. Really appreciated. You make videos with heart. Thanks!! ( other UA-camrs most probably would have split it into few clips ) and we have to wait at least 1 month to see the result of propagation.....
Whoaaa thats cool. I just threw away a bunch of cuttings 🥹 they become too much after a while and no one wants them here. I wish I could give them to you.
Once again thanks and glad that you have moved into your own place now, freedom to leave you plants anywhere and know they are safe, no more oh no dads emptied my propergations ! Would be great to have a tour perhaps a before and after getting organised in your grow area. Love from australia. 🌿
As usual. Love your videos that show from beginning to end on a successful propagation. Thank you so much. Now I know how to take care of my Florida ghost.
Your passion for the plants in your life is wonderful. i have a 2 meter tall Florida Ghost which is a year olsd and has just flowered for the first time. it gets low light. 2 flowers died before opening and then I stared misting the plant 2 times perday to increase the humidity and the first of 3 new flowers has opened. it opened for 48 hours and now it has closed up again. Awesome love for this Phily in our lives who lives next to our bed. Cheeers and keep up the good work. love ya show! Suzan
I love how Sean's videos show not just successful propagation but failed ones as well. And getting hands-on with dirt and stuff. Welcome to Real Gardening!
I just got my P. Ghost and was sooo excited this video just came out! You are my go to on plant care. Thank-you for the Amazing content. I really appreciate your approach and the follow up on propagation.
This video is fantastic! Best propagation video I've seen so far. You have great, clear shots and give good descriptions of the critical plant anatomy, as well as great advice. Thank you so much!
Congrtas Sean on your new home/nursery, thank you for giving updates on your plant life (and everything else). The florida ghost is on my wish list, hopefully soon i will have one. Mabuhay from the Philippines.

You’re videos are always so helpful! Thanks! I have a new bud that hasn’t turned into a leaf and the plant has not grown in 4 months but roots continue to grow.
Wonderful video and just in time because I was planning on cutting up my philodendron Florida Ghost because it's collapsing from the weight of the big leaves and has not been putting out new leaves
Hi Shawn, Florida is cross between Pedatum which has green petioles and Squamiferum with the hairy petioles and they produce tons of extrafloral nectar ! Mine does at least

Wish to get one in New Zealand. So beautiful. Unfortunately, it is a crazy price here. Was Sold one baby NZD$12500😬. Not sure how much in Jakarta. Hahah😆
I always love Philodendron Florida Ghost, very easy to take care of, thrive in neglect plant, great for beginners! I also love the Florida family of Philodendrons (Squami, Pedatum, Beauty), Florida Beauty Variegated is one of my favorite.
To my knowledge: Philodendron Pedatum is the other parent of the hybrid (the other one is squamiferum as you said). The Florida Beauty has the same parents as well. You can differentiate the Pedatum and anything Florida (Green, Ghost, Beauty) by looking at the petioles. The Pedatum has smooth petioles and the Floridas have bumps. 😌

Great! I just traded one of my Hoyas for a mature Philodendron Florida ghost, and I was wondering what I should do with it because it will get too big for my space soon

Do they have to have aerial roots to propagate? I got a big one that’s grown out really awkwardly, I’d like to cut it back some but I’m not seeing any good aerial roots
You might live in lower humidity if the aerial roots dont form. You can propagate it and I actually recommend water propagation if you dont have much roots yet
Hi Sean I have a question please . So I bought 2 small PFG and have had them growing in water because I’m so scared to put them in soil . However the water has tons of algae Is this harmful to my babies ? And advice is helpful thank you so much 🙏🏽 🪴
You should change the water when it has algae, as it might compete with nutrients from the plant. But also most plants cannot live long and meaningful lives in water, do consider transplanting it in soil, or propagate it so you have a spare thats in soil.
Hi Sean. I've tried propagating Florida green twice. First time only 1/3 cuttings made it. The other 2 rotted off. That was half a year ago so I thought I was perhaps inexperienced. Probably stuck the stem too deep into the soil or watered it too much. So this time I cut the stems and did water propagation. I took care to seal the end of the stems with some bonsai wound healing paste on the place end of the stem cutting. Even let it dry out for an hour or so. But when the end of the stem got in contact with water, many cuttings still rotted off. Quite frustrated with this as the green version should have been one of the easier ones.
Heyyy, try to fertilize the plant about a week before cutting it, so its stored enough nutrients. Also do give the cuttings excellent light to maximize success.
@@onlyplants ok I will try again! The first attempt might have rot due to lack of light. My cuttings have long primary roots. Do you think it would be better to grow the cuttings in damp spaghnum or straight into aroid mix?
