For that amount of dough, you don't need it. I just got back from a wedding where I was a guest and for fun shot it with my Olympus PEN E-P5. Bought it used for three hundred bucks, two lenses included. The pics came out amazing and were often chosen over those of the pros shooting with full-frame Sony rigs.
Just turn the focus ring to zoom to 50mm when you need it vs. the 50mm adapter in order to keep the compact profile. With the zoom mode and the two adapter lenses, I find it to be a very versatile camera.
5:34 What you really want is the Lumix S9. I understand. I have the Fuji X100VI nearly in and I am contemplating selling it as soon as it comes in for the S9!
I don’t need S9 drama on my channel 😂😂😂 S9 is cool, but not for me. Personally looking at the S9, I would probably look at the S5iiX with the deals they have going on.
@@MadefromJava lol I have the S5IIX it’s an amazing camera! I was suggesting the S9 if you’re looking for something compact. I personally was going for the Fuji as well, but I’ve been waiting for a long time for Lumix to drop a full frame compact device. I’m at a crossroad because I may want to bring a flash with me on the go, the S9 doesn’t have that ability, but for everything else I think it’s winner! My Fuji based off projections should be coming in three weeks and I’m thinking about canceling! I ordered 9:00 am the day of release.
@@amthemusic7632 I understand the “hate” on the S9, but I think Lumix has a winner on their hands. If you have already have S5iix, I see the S9 as a great compliment to it. I think I’m just looking for something other the “normal” mirrorless. I know, it’s just me having too much time on my hands 😂 I appreciate the suggestion.
I had also an X100 camera, and I also don't like the focal length, and the adapter makes the camera ridiculously big . I replaced it by an xe3 with the 35mm f1,4. Much better lens and smaller combo. I only use this setup when I want to travel light. If you are after image quality, your full frame Nikon is much better
Nice work with the music and sound fx! And bro you and me both. I am torn too. As much as I love the form factor, there are so many tradeoffs. I ended up picking up the X-T5 before my trip to Italy and took that along instead. I didn't feel like I could rely on it for the trip. AF was hit and miss for me. I still have it because like you I know I will never be able to get it again but I am not sure if that will be long term. We shall see.
@@MadefromJava I've loved the images I've gotten from it. Hoping to get one of those videos out this week now that I'm back in the US. AF seems more reliable and the shutter is so satisfying haha. I know what you mean about the leaf shitter on the X100VI. Lol.
@@MadefromJava The "digital teleconverter" crop will give you DOF and "background blur" identical to what you'd have using 50mm lens, or the physical tele adapter. Absolutely identical. If X100 had interchangeable lenses, when you'd put 33/2 onto it, you'd get absolutely identical image to the identical "50mm equivalent" crop from the 23mm f/2 lens. Also, and many folks still don't understand that, even APS-C and fullframe provide the same DOF and absolutely identical background blur if we take into account the crop factor... so 33mm f/2 on APS-C will result in absolutely identical image like 50mm lens set to f/3 (33*1,5, f/2*1,5) would create on fullframe sensor. There isn't any "fullframe look", that's pure myth, debunked so many times, yet even so many popular UA-camrs get this wrong (I guess it's because they're in photography not because they like math and science, but because they like taking pics, and arts). I recommend everyone who doubts this to go borrow some equipment and do comparisons. Hope this helps...
lol. You don't want the leaf shutter and want to feel the vibration of a big SLR mirror slap? SLRs are cheap these days... but after seeing blur from mirror slap on my old DSLR, i'm totally ok with tiny leaf shutter click.
What do you really want? I have both q2 and x100vi, q2 is way better in terms of build quality and sharpness, but not quite worth 3x the price…maybe 2x the price
Q2 is an awesome camera, but I’m convinced another fixed lens is not for me. I’ll continue to have fun with the x100vi and see where my GAS situation takes me.
So, after that clicking, bro. Taking, as all the other influencers do: ordinary pictures of ordinary subjects. WHERE does this camera virtues begin to shine? All those takes: stills & video, could have been done just the same with a cheaper priced camera. At least you didn't drool about the sexy and oldie looks of the camera. Thanks for that. Keep on sharing!
Sell it while it is hyped. There are desperate people on ebay who wants this camera for their 2024 YOLO vacation. I am sure you will still get more than you paid for it, even used. People have gone crazy this year.
The way is to get the x100f of this series. use it for street photos and have fun..anyway, I'd not get this series if I needed to choose 1 only one camera
It is a leaf shutter, and they are silent in all cameras (e.g. Leica and large format)

Why not use the digital teleconverter and keep the small form factor. With the 40mp sensor it should be fine no?
Digital teleconverter is cropping in. But the difference for me less about image quality but more so the look from the depth of field.
