I turn my morning coffee into a filling breakfast - I dilute a tsp of instant coffee (vanilla, maple syrup or chocolate Little's are my favorites) into hot water, add either milk (1% fat) or oat milk, sweeten with hazelnut flavoring , caramel syrup, sugarfree vanilla suryp or cocoa drink powder, and finish with 100-150 ml of unflavored or vanilla flavor whey protein. I blend it up and drink it on the way to work. I rarely eat before 9 in the morning so this super tasty coffee keeps me going without getting hangry. I never feel guilty over it and with my ED background that is saying alot.

Yes!!! I don’t like mukbangs. From my perspective, if I’m trying to recover for my health, why on earth would I want to swing the opposite way and still be unhealthy, and majorly trigger myself? If I’m bothering with recovery, I want to be healthy. And I certainly don’t want to see someone doing what I fear most and binging on the foods that I don’t allow myself for fear of doing the same. This video is so helpful.

If you eat just the whole tub of ice cream, you wont be satisfied but still want more. If you add just some things to a few scoops it changes the game. I really appreciate you and your channel Abbey. I must say, this is an eye opening video. I took a decision yesterday to try my very best to try to live a healthy life style without obsessing over calories, nutrients etc, just doing what feels right to my body and what give me more energy (well honestly also while trying to use/freeze the fresh produce so it doesn t spoil, i hate to throw food away). What I especially love is that you don’t vilify any particular food but instead find ways to build a healthy meal out of many foods that have been triggering or misused. Nicely done. I’m literally watching this after I had started binge eating chocolate chip banana muffins I had made. I was upset but I find your videos so soothing. And I realized I needed to ask myself Why I did that and I think it’s because I rarely bake and I also have food allergies (eggs, dairy, nuts) so regular baked goods from stores and bakeries are not accessible to me so I think it may be because I am not around delicious baked goods on a regular basis to normalize them being around and not in scarcity for me. Kinda crazy I’m just realizing this.

@leah I don’t eat these so much in the white version (sometimes I do) I just use alternatives so wholewheat pasta (keep you full for longer), sweet potato (again no white carb crash & full of vitamin c), rice either brown or if white I add a stock to flavour and peas/sweet corn/etc to make it healthier choice! At times I just want white bread for toasting or a big white jacket potato (the jacket/skin is good fibre) but mostly I choose healthier alternatives. This helped me battle anorexia and I am now healthy in mind and body with a healthy attitude to food. Hope this helps x

One more combination that I personally love to do is cake with Skyr on the side! It's super high-protein and very fluffy, so it's a lot like a slightly tangier and denser whipped cream and goes particularly well with chocolate cake.
Cake used to be a huge fear food for me, specifically at social gatherings (well, it's been a while), however since my family or my partner's family are usually the ones hosting and I tend to have some Skyr around and a small slice of cake with a dollup of fluffy white stuff on the side doesn't look weird to anyone. If there's fruit (from the garden) I usually also take a piece on the side to add a bit of fibre as well!

Pasta is easy. Make the pasta the small part, and you add chicken or tuna (protein), parmesan (protein, fat), tomatoes, onion, spinach, etc. (fiber). Don't overcook the later. Chips are harder, though you can do tzatziki sauce (yogurt, cukes, olive oil) as a "dip". I go to restaurant that serves fries (okay chips), tzatziki, with olive oil and vinegar.
