    Saying goodbye to my 300e today. What a great piece of machinery it is. 250k miles on the clock. Still runs like a new car. I'm donating it to a veterans organization that helps our current and past service members. Thank you for all your videos. They've been extremely helpful.

    Hello, where is the oil pressure switch located? I couldn't find it or does it only have the oil level sensor?

  • @detrock

    Hello, is it possible to replace the switch without draining the oil?

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  10 місяців тому +1

      It might be possible if the car was lifted only on one side so the oil was away from the opening. I cant confirm this though as I have not tried it.

    Would you please, comment on what size copper crush washer, you used on oil plug.
    I have the 92, 300e 2.6l
    I read some use a copper washer with rubber in inner diameter.
    So, far I have 14×20×1.5
    Copper washer. With no rubber in inner diameter.
    Would, appreciate your help...
    Thank you, for all your great videos, have learned, a lot from you!!

      i just buy the recommended crush washers when ordering the filters from FCP euro. I ordered a bunch with my new sump plugs too. Have never put a lot of thought into them as havent had any issues. If you are having leaking issues and battling with leaks and experimenting with washers, the problem is almost always either the plug or the sump itself.

    Why didn't you replace the o-rings on the sensor?

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  Рік тому +1

      because that’s not where the oil leaks out from.

      @@MMWA-DAVE where was it leaking from in your case?
      I am in the process of dealing with the same thing myself and i am debating if i should just change the two o-rings or just buy the whole sensor and be done with it.

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  Рік тому +1

      @@arismidos4326 the plastic core that has the electrical pin on it, has an o-ring around it and is staked in, ie never meant to be removed. This is where the leak comes from commonly. This makes the sensor a throwaway item unfortunately. You might be lucky and it be just the outside but this inner one wont be far behind if it is.

    Now an interesting scenario happened to me.After fitting the new part putting some new oil i woke up with a leak it looks like its comming from the part where the connector goes in the pin but its hard to say...Any ideas

      @@MMWA-DAVE Well ill just order a new hella unit.I dont like that I have to take the oil out again but still better than a leak...Does the rubber o ring do anything than sealing the connector to the sensor because that part on my connector is missing (its broken) until i find a new/used one.

    Theoretically, couldn't you just replace the seal ring ? It's not criticism, it's a genuine question :)

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  2 роки тому +2

      the o ring that is leaking is the one around the staked in plastic pin housing. You have to drill out the stake points then resecuure it some how to do that. it wasn’t designed to be disassembled

    hahaha why did hella sells the original mb part , but grinds op off the mb logo and part code ? how strange ! LOL

    • @MMWA-DAVE
      @MMWA-DAVE  2 роки тому

      This is very standard practice when OEM’s sell parts in their own boxes. They are the same parts MB sells but they are not allowed to display the MB logo or part number. MB makes very few parts themselves, most are made by third parties, ie Hella in this case makes this part for MB.
