A nice easy oil change. I use Castrol Magnatec in my Micra its good oil. I always liked how the Merc bonnet would open right up, it makes access so much easier.

It sure was. Would have been even easier if I had found my vacuum oil change tool… Castrol is great: MB approval, available everywhere, not that expensive, quality brand.. And I can use it in all my cars.

And that bonnet is a nice premium feature, old Volvos also have that function. I also really appreciate that it locks in the upright position - won’t hit you in the head if its windy…

@@ccrepairchannel I never serviced my Mercs, always done at MB (hand money then 😆). You will see in my Micra service video I used the same oil. I have used it for years and as you say not that pricey

@@ccrepairchannel I remember my neighbour freaking out when he saw mine up like that, he was sure it would come down on me even when I showed it was secure lol.

What is the suitable oil for automatic transmission for Mercedes 163 ML320 W model 1999, is this code 236.14 suitable for it? What tips can you give me? I want to change doing it myself. Greetings to you

I believe 236.14 is the current recommendation. Maybe consider buying a full service kit with oil, filter, electrical plug, gasket etc. - especially if no full service history. Otherwise, changing only the oil is also good. I’ve been told that ~12 liters would be needed if you do a ”flush change”, which might be the best way to do it.
