So many great tips from Marcellus. Definitely going to try his set up. I'm sure I was retracting, not depressing my scapula in my set up. Kinda mad that I already benched this morning!
This womans smile is everything.... authentic energy is why this channel is great
I’m so glad he talked about the wrist position. I’ve always been a little unsure on my bench form and I saw a TikTok video (I know…not the best place for accurate information) and it was to keep your wrist neutral. So I started to try and make sure I had a neutral wrist…I hated it and it felt so unnatural. Definitely going to go back to extending my wrists. Love how he explained the reasoning behind it also.
He’s amazing!! Having both of you in this vid was so insightful and inspiring. Can’t wait to bench again next week! 🫶🏽
YESSS, more powerlifting videos pls !
ANYTHING FOR YOU EMILY!
Love this! The video I wanted!
You’re so sassy, I LOVE it!
I tried this set up today and it worked so well! I am excited to keep using it
Great video. Going to try that set up when I train today. THANKS FOR THE GREAT COLAB!!
This has been one of my favorite videos. So informative and useful!! Thanks for these amazing tips
Some of the best information on the flat bench I’ve seen. Thank you
Great tips!!! I'll be using them for sure! I want to gain more strength with my bench press. Thanks for this video Meg! Have a great day!
Bench Baddies 🎉🎉
such a great and informative video!! perfect timing for me as i’m about to hit a bench session 😌
I totally know what you mean, Meg, when you say rocking the shoulders makes you uneven most of the time. I'm excited to try this setup tomorrow!
Gotta get Samantha Calhoun once here too, she's a beast and is a coach of a great team
OMG we love Sam!! Ok we'll get her here ASAP
@@Megsquats great 👍👍👍
So many great tips. I'm gonna try that setup next time I bench. 😁
Oh I can't wait to try this set up after my next meet! Just 10 days out!
Educated queen who knows not to mess with it before the big day. HAVE A GREAT MEET!
@@Megsquats thank you SO much! It's an Ed coam classic meet! I'm so pumped yo go have some fun!
this was an amazing lesson, thank you both!
These tips are exactly what I needed. I’ve been looking to fine tune my bench form.
Oh I have to try this bench set up! Thank you!
This was amazing to watch! Definitely gonna do it this way! Tho I have started to naturally slide back so I wasn't far off.
Amazing video! 📝 excited to bring this info into my Bench Baddie work 💪
I was able to instantly lift heavier by adjusting my form to this one. THANK YOU ❤
This was a gem!!
Great tips!! Trying it this week!
This is the best bench tutorial on the internet
Great video, but what is up with the sound!
AYYYEEE MARCELLUS & MEG!!!! This was a video I didn't know I needed but thank you both!! ❤️💪🏿 I actually have bench today 😂😂😂😂
Edit: "DAMN SHOTS FIRED!" got me weak 🤣
I will have to try this set up and see if it feels right for me. I have issues with leg drive and I'm sure i can lift heavier with a good drive.
This video is so cool, I'm kinda disappointed that I will not be able to implement the cues today as it's "feet up close grip bench press" day 😅😅
This is some.... stereo audio I guess
Exercise not only changes your body. It changes your mind, attitude & mood
My biggest problem is that my rang of motion makes it so hard to get it completely down to my chest. I almost feel like my scapulas have to cross over each other to get it so far down.
Great energy!
Right on point 💯 Stay 💪👊
Im going to try this
I see a lot of people (in powerlifting specifically) who keep their butt off the bench until after they unrack. What are the benefits of doing this? Should I be trying to do this?

8:09 - back to blue 20kg plates.
Dunno about how Marcellus' setup helps with lifts, but seems he can teach some magic :)
* consistent touch point - noted.
Just another comment and a Like for the algo.
Stay shredded brahs (and brahettes), we're all gonna make it.
Peace.

I’m super prone to shoulder injuries and barbell stuff (bench and OHP) seems to be the culprit…neutral grip lifts with dumbbells feels a lot better. Any suggestions? I’m scared to do anything upper body with a barbell after recovering from bilateral rotator cuff impingements 🙁
I tried this setup, but it wasn’t for me. I did apply and am going to keep a few of the little things though.
👍
what are these shoes? 🤩
CAN I GET UH, "HOHHHHH YEAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!"?

My back just doesn't bend that way lol. I'll never understand it
The sound is a little weird. It’s like y’all are talking out of different speakers
I wasn’t understanding anything 😢. I guess I need to go to the beginner videos
/furious note taking ensues
Lot of good advice but the sound quality makes it really uncomfortable to listen to

70 years old, bench 320, so a decent bench for an old man. Your hand separation is sub-optimal. You should be 2x your biachromial distance. And your talk about leg drive is misleading. Sure, you plant your feet into the floor but the force vector should be driving your body horizontally along the bench. Your leg drive is essentially wasted because it just wants to lift your butt up off the bench.
No, no, no, no, NO! Arching your back when bench pressing is CHEATING! Arching is like doing a DECLINED Bench Press and uses some of your Lats to press. NO, NO, NO! You need to keep your back FLAT so you isolate your Pecs better and use your front deltoids for the bench press the way it should be. If you want to increase your bench press alternate INCLINED 45° angle bench presses with FLAT Bench Presses. You will have a much better Pec definition and more stability with that formula.
They should seriously change the rules for women bench pressing, because the way they cheat in power lifting competitions is just painful to watch. Often times they mostly mastered cheating and barely learned how to bench.
