Urban Sketching with Sailor's Fude Fountain Pen 🎨 Ink and Watercolors on Location

- Hi everyone, today I'm sharing with you my morning finding inspirations at Deville Coffee in Downtown Vancouver. This cafe has a compelling view of the Waterfront Station building right outside the window. I grabbed that perfect seat by the window and spent nearly 2 hours drawing and painting the brick building and the downtown ambience. Please watch the video until the end for my full process composing this sketchbook page using pen and watercolors.
🎨 Materials I used:
- Sailor's fude fountain pen (Bamboo Green)
- Noodler's Brown 41 Ink (to fill the fountain pen)
- Mungyo watercolors
- Etchr Mix-Media A4 size Landscape Sketchbook
- Holbein Water Brush (large tip)
- Holbein water brush (medium tip)

I got the pen! No idea how to use it... and I need waterproof ink for it. I love your sketches... the coffee and food, people in the foreground, and the buildings as the background, although they're what we're looking at. I so enjoy your work, thank you

I like that you use brown ink. I recently started using Noodlers #41 brown.
Will you recommend using this fude fountain pen rather than other fountain pen?
yes. The bent nib can create more expressive lines that regular fountain pens don't. ☺️
Wonderful video! The sketch & watercolor is fabulous. I used to go to the zoo and sketch. 🦍🦛🦓🦩But then I got a job and it’s hard to fit it in anymore. I’m inspired to make a plan to visit again.
