- In this urban sketching session I share how I capture a nature scene in pen and watercolor on location. This is one of my few attempts to finish the watercolor portion of a sketch on location.

Enjoyed watching you paint. Is it possible to turn down the background music as it was difficult to hear you explaining your process. Thx
Thank you - yes I will try it in the next video.
A good video and good painting thanks. It would be great at the end to see your painting together with the view that you are painting.Have fun
Thanks. Good idea - I will try that the next time I finish a painting on location.
AG, glad to have found this video and your channel. Very calming and inspiring. Is there a water color set you recommend for a beginner who hasn't used water colors since he was a child? I llook forward to trying this and seeing your other videos.
Thank you! I’ve had a small Windsor and Newton Cotman travelling set for a long time that I’d occasionally use but only really got into watercolours in the past year. Since then I’ve been using some better paints, and they’re much nicer to work with (the way the pigment interacts with the paper is more interesting and the colours are more vibrant). Good paper is important as well, I’ve been enjoying my sketchbook that has 100% cotton cold pressed paper.
I really enjoyed watching your video. I've noticed that you used FC brush pen to do the initial outline, and I'd love to know whether you use FC Pitt artist brush pens with watercolor to add details or texture.
Thank you. I use Pigma micron pens for the initial outline and after to add more detail. For heavier lines I use a Pigma brush pen - FB
@@AGsBlog_ I see! I mistook the pen for a different product. Thank you for the answer!
