ok... Making a video and NOT installing a Heatsink, but saying you should is bloody ridiculous. Your Best Buy for god's sake - FIND A HEATSINK WHEN YOU ARE MAKING A VIDEO ON INSTALLING AN SSD INTO A PS5. Take the extra 4 minutes...? to go grab one.
That's what I was thinking, Plus I tested fortnite and it took 48 seconds where before it took 42, I'm very confused and I'm even using an ethernet cable now?
PS5 consoles can't reach those speeds only high end PCs can take full advantage of a fast SSD. Your speeds are fast for a PS5 SSD. My PS5 Pro got a read apeed of 6742 with the 2TB 990 pro.
smh just bought this without realizing there's no heatsink casing. Right when I go to put it in, I open up my Pro to take out the 2TB 980 I have in there, and that thing's already hot as it is since I just turned the system off. No way I'm gonna even chance messing around with this. Returning ASAP. Wish the reviews on the product page that mentioned PS5 had said something.
@kontor170 well you really have to plug it in well enough, i was too scared tk break it but you gotta put it in there so it stays up jn the air while not touching it, idk how to explain but gl!
Am i the only person who didn’t have the screw and spacer inside the ps5?! i’m seeing everyone talk about this screw but my ps5 doesn’t have one nor does one come with the ssd. Thoughts or recommendations anyone?
In February of 2023 Samsung put out update firmware I presume could be installed onto the SSD through the Samsung magician software. Is this the software update you're referring to? I can't confirm, but some online say the more recent run of units come with the updated firmware, perhaps since some time in 2023. So if you bought the SSD in 2024 you may be good without a firmware update. You'd have to install it in a PC to both check the firmware version and to update the firmware through Samsung's software
Yes, the SSD will probably start flopping around in your console if the screw/spacer is in the “110” slot instead of the “80”. This particular SSD is 80 mm tall.
Sony stated that it definetly need a heatsink
Legend only in-depth installation I love u bro 💯
I bought this exact one without the Heatsink, can i buy the Heatsink separately later? And Where?
Thank you for the great review :)

Glad you said it.
Exactly where’s the heat sink
Hi, im a noob, any video guides to install the heatsink whatever this is. Thanks
Is it necessary to update the firmware on this ssd before installing it in my ps5??
I see your read speed is around 6500, I just installed this same SSD and getting the same read speed. I thought the 990 pro should be closer to 7400?

i turned my ps5 on and got no notification, now what
Me too brother.. do you found a fix?

@xian114 thanks bro, gonna try it. And merry x mas
@kontor170 ty, you too brother
Will this work the same way with the ps5 pro?
You need to buy the version with the heatsink, and I just installed it right into my PS5 Pro. Faster then my last seagate ssd.
@genepadilla7754 awesome thx!
@@genepadilla7754what about lexar 790?

I got the ssd but it’s not fitting for some reason I can’t tighten the screw down it hits the ssd
Do I got to update this thing before I install it in my PS5?

guys important question, will my saved data from other games be lost when i install and reboot the ssd or everything is going to stay the same??
also nice vid thank you for explaining!!
Should have to reinstall all games but your profiles should be saved on psplus if you have it.
The inside doesnt look like this on mine. Its just a Grey Iron plate and its up side down to place it😂
And when I put it in the best I can it doesn’t pop up
It is functional for PS5 Slim?
It works on all consoles, You should look at a different SSD because this one does NOT have a Heatsink which could damage the SSD
Why would you not explain how to take the top off the ps5
Its not difficult it slides down very early.
@@e-rix1792 you’re right I was just in a grumpy mood that day, I figured it out eventually
i've buyd it with heatsink. Can I install it with heatsink?
No
It takes seconds for it to over heat
My PlayStation didn’t have that 80 screw on it so I don’t know how well it’s gonna work
That’s a you problem
That’s what happens when you buy a used ps5
My screw was not on the 80 but the 110. Is this an issue ?

No heatsink is it not required
Hi, a heatsink for your SSD is highly recommended. The purpose of this video is to show the install of the SSD as is.
He put the non heatsink included version. You can get it with or without.
No need to get this; I looked up the GM7000, and the specs are almost the exact same, no big difference, and that cost $50.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ without a radiator it won't work properly.
