  • Hello beautiful people,
This is a series called Dee Unedited, and my 5th episode is about eczema in honour of National Eczema Awareness Month. This topic will be one episode, and I invited special guest Michelle from Yanyee Skincare to discuss all things eczema. We both live with eczema and discuss our struggles with living with a chronic skin condition, triggers, what helps and learn more about Yanyee Skincare.
As always, I would like to remind people that this is a safe space. Though I actively encourage comments, I would like to request that you are respectful to one another and use appropriate language.
Please don’t forget to give Yanyee Skincare a follow on their Instagram:

So interesting. Both my brother and I had chronic eczema up to our twenties when it subsided significantly. Now that we are both much older we just consider we have extra sensitive skin and take precautions with any products used on or near the skin. Back in the 60’s and 70’s we were prescribed very strong hydrocortisone creams and plastic gloves to wear on our hands at night. As a result we have very thin skin and I don’t think the particular steroid is now prescribed. Having said that it did eventually make a difference after some years. Thank you for raising awareness to this issue especially for those where the condition continues in adulthood.

Hi Amanda, thank you so much for sharing your personal story. I feel that not many people share about living with eczema so it’s refreshing to know there is a community nearby who understand what it’s like. Thanks so much for watching and your supportive comment ♥️♥️♥️

It’s very interesting. My psoriatic arthritis worsens when I eat gluten. Maybe inflammation simply worsens by gluten in some of us. I also get some eczema (contact dermatitis). A salve with calendula in a base of petrolatum (Vaseline) helps. When it flares a lot, I do use a little of prednisone. Mostly I just have to be very careful to always keep the skin barrier strong with La Roche-Posay. And I avoid perfume in makeup. Hugs to both of you. My situation is mild compared to you❤️

Hi Maj, thanks so much for opening up and sharing. It’s so interesting to know your psoriatic arthritis worsens with gluten. I will definitely look into the calendula salve. Big hugs back to you! ♥️♥️♥️
