It's crazy how we went from "we know pretty much nothing about the mechanics of the game outside of making assumptions based off of its source material" to "we'll be able to play the game in less than a week" in such a short time span lmao.
Honestly, we still don't know much about its mechanics, so it's going to be even more interesting Beta than most. I just hope, they will be some kind of training/versus CPU mode, because I don't have PS Plus for some time and I don't intend on buying it just for 3 days beta

Unfortunately the KOF XV open beta required PS Plus to even open the game to the main menu, let alone enter versus CPU/training, so I'm hoping that even if multiplayer is PS Plus exclusive, they'll at least allow non PS Plus members to mess around with the characters in training mode or something along those lines.

uuhmm.. the cool in the characterers wasn't arcsys work, it was Dungeon Fighter Onlines and DFO's ones are way cooler because the awakening splash arts lmao.
The class I wanted the MOST was hitman, but I thought Secret Agent would get in over him. SO hyped rn.

Imma be honest, Hitman has the worst super amongst the current revealed cast. We went from summoning a blood dragon and burning witches at the stake to just "double machine gun goes pew pew"

I've been playing the original DFO game a lot recently in anticipation for DnF duel, it's got me so hype
that's exactly my reaction two days ago when I looked up the DFO roster after discovering this game, and I already know who my favorites are and who I want to main.

Finally, we got the other Dante who will Stinger you. Hitman was one of the ones I expected, hopefully we get Dragon Knight and likely Witch in there.

The characters are all just nameless classes from a game I never played or want to play, yet I want to main them all! Loving this roster.
bro i feel that, never played DFO before but these trailers and the game's style has got me hooked already
It’s because the game is called Dungeon & Fighter which is a mix of Dungeons & Dragons (hence no proper names for characters, just their professions) and fighting games.
DFO isn't for everybody obviously, but if you take away the MMO aspects of the game, you pretty much have a RPG/Beat Em Up with combos like a fighting game.
That's just how cool DFO is, your'e missing out. Basically every single class is awesome in some way and deserves to be in this fighting game, which makes me really hype for every reveal but also kinds sad that a slot got taken.
@K Y the pvp is really fun in dfo but you really do need to just play with friends that have good internet because the peer to peer netcode can get bad sometimes

Judging by the character silhouettes I’m predicting that the four characters coming in currently will be dragon knight, vanguard, kunoichi, and avenger
i think u might be right about vanguard cause dragon knight is the only one with those shaped horns, kunoichi is the only one with pointy ears and that hair doo, and im still torn on with its crusader or avenger cause both have hoods but i am leaning more towards avenger cause they got inquistor
I think it's swift master instead of kunoichi. They look more similair with the outlining matching his wind going around him

Dragon Knight(horns and hair), Vanguard(hair), Kunoichi(hair and ears) and Avenger(it's literally the same pose he does on his DFO portrait).

Gotta say that whoever is behind the community / social /marketing effort on grabbing and building audience engagement is absolutely _KILLING IT_ with the way these reveals and the shadow dropping content is going to hook hype and keep a hold of it. Hats off to ya!

From what I can tell (left to right) the next 5 chars are Dragon Knight, either Vanguard or Dragoon, Hitman obviously, Kunoichi, and either Male Crusader or Avenger. We could very well find out in the coming week!
it is 99.9% Vanguard and Avenger respectively. Dragoon doesn't have that single strand of hair going forward that Vanguard and this picture has. Crusader and Avenger may both have a hood, but the cross of Crusader isn't as thin as the shaft of Avengers Scythe, just like the shadow.
That last one is definitely avenger.

I’m guessing this game is dropping either in the spring or summer. They wouldn’t be showing this much and launching a beta. My guess is that they’re probably gonna wait after KOF XV cools down a bit to release it.
how can a new fighting game based on another one that I have never heard of until a few days ago, and with no real names for the characters except their classes/jobs, still somehow make me so hyped for it and want to play as *all* of the characters?

Same. Far left is clearly Dragon Knight, no other 1st Awakening class has horns iirc.
Hopefully Crusader! I feel that the Avenger isn't as emblematic as the other three lines for male priest, but what do I know? I barely played the mmo.
3rd is for sure swift master, you can see the ear popping out in the char portrait. the second one i think is demon slayer bc of the fluffed sleeves

Swift master looks nothing like that, and you forget Thief who turns into Kunoichi is also an Elf like Male mage who turns into Swift master.
You can tell thats Kunoichi tho from her updo hairstyle.
So I believe I know 3 of the 4 silhouettes and they"re all First Awakening just like the rest.
Pink Silhouette: Knight - Dragon Knight, the horns match.
Orange Silhouette: Thief - Kunoichi, the hairstyle and I can see a bit of elf ear.
Yellow Silouhette: Priest (M) - Avenger or Crusader, stocky character in a hood.
Blue Silhouette: Mystery, but I believe (more like hope) it's Demonic Lancer - Vanguard

WOW! They took my post down with my predictions! I must have been right. I know I was right about the Dragon Knight as the video is out for that one now. My other predictions are (from left to right) Blood Mage, Kunoichi, and Avenger (possibly Crusader).
Ranger: Dante without sword
Hitman:Vergil with a gun
So from the silhouettes it seems like the next ones to reveal are:
-Avenger (far right). The hood is a near dead giveaway.
-Kunoichi (right of Hitman). You can see the elven ears and her distinct haircut.
-Vanguard (left of Hitman). It's a bit difficult to make out, but he does seem to be sporting his trademark hairstyle.
-Dragon Knight (far left). You can see her horns, though curiously it seems she's appearing as her 2nd Awakening "Dreadnaught" instead.
Of course, I could be wrong on the last 2 and they could be any of the mages (male and female) classes too.
From left to right I think I see Demon Slayer, Vanguard, Kunoichi and Crusader.
Everyone except for Vanguard was on my list (I wanted Skirmisher so bad I'm low-key devastated) including Hitman so I'm thoroughly looking forward to this week.

2nd from the left is definitely one of the Demonic Lancers, but I think it looks more likely to be 1st ascension Dragoon, possibly Skrimisher. Seeing as every character's appearance thus far has been based on 1st ascensions, the hair style and some of the visible edges have me leaning that way.
I agree with the rest of those predictions. Definitely looks to be Dragon Knight and Kunoichi, and I'd say Crusader as the silhouette indicates a "polearm" grip so that's likely the cross/hammer. Avenger's scythe looks to be shaped like a blackened bone and would be less of a straight protrusion.

Going off the fact that all the characters have been the 1st awakening of a subclass, the far left silhouette seems to be Dragon Knight as its the only class with horns of that shape.
There better be rollback netcode in the beta. That aside, Hitman looks awesome.
EDIT: ASW said that we should expect rollback to be the default for future games a while back when asked about DNF Duel, so we should be good to go.

My guesses for the silhouettes at the end are: Dragon Knight, Dragoon, Mystery Female Character that I just can't place for the life of me, and Crusader.

Dragon Knight (Knight), Kunoichi(Rogue), Vanguard(Demonic Lancer) , and Avenger(Monk/ it could be priest too but there's a sword so more likely avenger) are looking like the silhouettes in the trailer. I don't know the characters so correct me if i'm wrong, but those were the silhouettes that looked the most similar to the portraits from the site.
Kunoicihi (Thief) and Avenger (Male Priest). Rogue and Monk are another subclass of the Thief and Male Priest respectively

Yep yep that pretty much what it looks like no doubt. Except for the Monk and Rogue. Like Debi said those two are definitely Kunoichi and Avenger. Which is not too shabby, though aesthetically I would have wanted Rogue to be honest. But not a bad selection.

Pause at 1:01, the character on the far right with the yellow background is the Avenger or the Crusader.
For those who play the game we instantly recognize the outlines. But saddened female mage isnt shown yet.

Oh we getting dimension walker, male crusader or avenger(depends on if they want to show that they'll add different sex same classes), what looks like vanguard and outside of everyone expectations I think witch instead of kunoichi because not a single of kunoichis portraits have hats(unless they decide to show that they gonna change some stuff visually).
Well someone else who can be instead of kunoichi is blade master, but I don't know if they'll show Neo classes yet.

Avenger, Kunoichi, Dragon Knight, and I believe Vanguard.
The Hidden Characters are Demonic Lancer (Vanguard), Knight (Dragon Knight), Priest M (Crusader), and Thief (Kunoichi). Look on there website to see the characters and look at the outlines. They are the same.
The amount of people saying it's avenger is baffling and making me think it's wishful thinking on their part, looks like it's obviously male crusader, the shaft for the base of the cross is the exact same.

Cool so we might get 10 or maybe 14 or 18 characters in the roster, but really awesome gameplay imagines on DNF Duel, or maybe 12 characters so for the rest of the new character's could be DLC for 6 more characters as a amount of 18 character's, I can't wait for the Beta test for DNF Duel come out
There is 14 base classes and 2 special classes being dark knight and creator. So right now based on who we can see coming, the next next batch of characters will be a Female slayer, female gunner, male/female mages and maybe 1 or both dark knight and creator
I have a feeling it’ll be a 15 character roster starting out, I think the Creator might be difficult to implement, but the basic 14 classes+Dark Knight sounds really nice

I really hope male mage is next, specifically my class of choice: Freezypop. basically turning a caster class into a melee class... which makes it very unlikely choice because we have so many close-range options
I'd be ok with letting Glacial Master show up, poor kid keeps getting the short end of the stick in the original game. Although for a fighting game I'd want Swift Master or Dimensional Walker. Blood Make and Elemental Bomber would be too broken in a fighting game, unless they pretty much destroy his skills like the PvP mode of DFO does
Theres kunoichi right beside hitman being the ranged class and female gunner whos left with only ranged advancement. And witch has a much higher possibility to be in the game than battlemage. So male mage is probably melee and probably ice boi or wind boi, cuz we have berserker for the blood already

Going from the mysterious shadows.
From left to right, it seems to be Dragon Knight (you can see her dragon horns as well as the ahoge), the next is Vanguard due to his messy slick back/laid back hair, the next is one from the thief line, can either be kunoichi or rouge but its def a thief since you can spot out the pointy ears and scarf, last one is male crusader since you can see his holy cross axe (altho cut off) and can see he is wearing a coat hoodie.
edit note: It could also be avenger. Seems more avenger, hmm

@@melon5627 I feel its crusader too due to the weapon but it's been a long time since I played DFO/DNF so I can't remember if crusader's weapon was still the holy cross axe (but with a circle around it) or it was a hammer. So I'm more to say avenger but the avenger scythe has more like this bone thing on it and you can't see it in this silhouette. So its either avenger/crusader, leaning more to avenger, but I hope i'm a bit wrong and it's actually crusader.

those silhouettes look like dragon knight (knight) Vanguard (lancer), Glacial Master(male mage), Avenger (male priest), and Shiranui (thief). Was hoping for shadow dancer V_V oh well, game still looks amazing will def play this weekend.

And man this game is so much more easy on the eyes than Strive is. Not implying that Strive looks bad but it has too much shit going on at times and this game looks so much more cleaner in that regard. Can see myself binging this game from a visual standpoint.

@@ZuranMyllhor Originally I thought Avenger too but changed my mind. The Scythe of the Avenger has a curved shaft with ribs sticking out of it. The Hammer of the crusader has a straight and smooth shaft, just like the shadow here. I'm pretty sure it isn't monk, even thou I thought they would go with monk too, but I don't think they would even bother with putting in the totem for the monk, just fists, so the shaft pretty much makes it certainly not monk.

Dragon knights design might use 1st Awakening horns as it looks like they aren't broken but looks like she has the shoulder ribbon from 2nd? Avenger might use 1st awakening outfit but with 2nds weapon? I think its Kunoichi but in a weird pose? They have only used 1st forms so far but that doesn't mean they couldn't use the others now.
They're only using 1st advancements for all the characters.

Oh my god I just realized it's 4 days till the beta starts and there's a good ass chance we get one character a day until it releases, so we could already be kicking things off with a 10 character open beta, god honestly this explosion of news and hype is so much more satisfying then if they had spread it out across months

I don't know a lot about DFO, only started playing it when this game got announced, but Dragon Knight was instantly my favorite class, and I'm so glad she (probably) got in!
