I love how you say you need to feel comfortable with your technique. My snooker coach told me that your technique is the foundation when you start learning how to play. And once your foundation is set, you will build a wonderful consistent routine. Love your videos man!

Believing you will make the shot really does increase your chances. I was just at a wedding and the night before, we all went out for some snooker. No one else had played much so I had this extra confidence and in all honesty, I really wanted to show off. I was potting everything. Dead straight blues from close to the corner pocket, screwing it back to the same spot. Long shots, tight to the cushion. I was smashing everything in with all kinds of spin.
Also, I appreciate the wireless mic. It really makes it easier to concentrate on what you're saying, not being distracted by the audio volume and quality changing.

Thank you so much for making this video! I asked recently about aiming and this is perfect. I can’t wait to try these out on the pool table (no snooker by me)

the part about keeping focus is so true. sometimes i’ll be playing in rhythm and have a nice run going, then come up on a shot i’m not as comfortable with and will start thinking “i’m probably going to miss this shot” even if i’ve been able to make it before. sure enough i miss every single time that happens

Man, what is the name of a long shot in snooker with backspin than ends up with the cue ball rotating forward. The shot I'm referring to is also a soft or slow hit. IT IS THE FIRST SHOT OF THIS VIDEO BUT I DON´T REMEMBER THE NAME.

    James from Fareham here!
Thanks for the great videos! They have helped me get a 31 highest break in match play and 80 in the line up. I only bought a snooker cue 2 years ago, and I'm a top 3 player in my local club league.
I have a question about selecting the potting angle and focusing. I have a weak myopia/short-sightedness (just -0.75 right and -0.25 left) and I still struggle to pot thin cuts and half ball shots.
I try to imagine a dot or an edge as appropriate as the point furthest from the pocket on the object ball, but when I move back to the cue ball, it's hard to keep focusing on, and I'm often unsure that its the correct angle.
Wearing glasses feels a little unnatural, though it does make my eyesight clearer.
How important do you think having completely crisp eyesight is?

Where do you look while delivering the cue on the cue ball or the object ball?

Another great video mate, thank you. Got a question for you. Im just starting to take up the game. My issue is I'm pretty good at pool but I'm not finding that my skill set is carrying over to snooker. Any tips on dealing with that or ideas on how to transfer those skills to make me better?

Mostly it will be just knowing where to put the cueball to make a break without a lot of effort

Hi, I saw one of your videos which promoted a mirrored cue ball, the video was from 2020. I tried to click on site but it was not working any more, I would like to get one if possible and wonder if you can direct me to a supplier? My searches have not found anything. Thanks and Cheers Rob

Practice and careful attention to detail is one thing, and if you tell yourself to concentrate, you probably won't do it, as you will be concentrating on keeping your concentration..... remember to abandon the rules and have fun playing too.

Hi, sorry to write this question in this video, but why snooker players never use closed bridge? I mean, beyond the shape of the cue, that in snooker the diameter thickens backwards. In my case that I am a pool player, I try to rescue elements of snooker technique for my body posture and cue action, and it is very difficult for me to stop using closed bridge, because I feel more firmness. That's why I'm wondering if maybe there is some important reason to only use open bridge and I still can't perceive it. Thank you, best regards.

It’s just not something that most players think of. I know Joe Davis used to but it’s just not something I ever see to be truthful and I don’t know why

It's an acuracy deal you can see more of the shot and cue line without your index finger obstructing the view.
I guess it doesn't matter if you don't have your chin on the cue.. but again that affects acuracy you won't see many good snooker players with their chin even an inch off the cue.
To feel more stable with an open bridge put some real pressure between your index finger and thumb at the v.
