Last year, I watched this video, with only enthusiasm for the talent of these singers. Throughout this year, I have gotten a singing voice! I appreciate the nuances of singers so much more these days! Thank you, Fairy Voice Mother!
I get the distinct impression that your new headphones have awakened an entirely different musical beast within you. This reaction has taught me more about music than all of the other musical reactions I have watched online combined.
I dearly appreciate your unique analysis of the monsters of acapella majestry (Voiceplay/Home Free/Pentatonix)! They are so incredibly amazing and so are you! I am amazed at how low you can sing for a woman. Wow. I can't wait to see your next reaction. Perhaps Silent Lucidity by Queensryche or Honeybee by Steam Powered Giraffe? Also looking forward to more collaborations with Julia Nilon or a future collaboration with the Charismatic Voice or Beth Roars!
One of the best reactions I've seen to this, maybe any. Notice of all the technical details but, really feeling your emotional reaction as well. I've listened to it at least a dozen times (with headphones) and I hear new details each time. Its a masterpiece of an arrangement IMO. I'm a big Metallica fan and I think I prefer this version.
Oh Miss Lolli , I LOVED 💜,LOVED💜 ,LOVED💜 your insightful analysis, physical reaction and enthusiasm of this masterpiece of production of song from Voiceplay. It made my day. You ARE the Voice Mother.
Wow Lolli!! You sprinkled magic pixie dust on this one! Lovely reaction! I was first captivated by your reaction to Voctave's Disney Princess Medley. Now another amazing acapella reaction! Keep doing what you do my dear, you're on a roll. Along with the many good suggestions listed in these comments (like Voiceplay's Dream On), I'd love to see more Sohyang reactions. She does an amazing duet with The One (he really calls himself that), of "For A Thousand Days", which I think you would like. Of course, her performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water is iconic. Keep being you! You're a star!! 😍
@@lkayh I can't wait for Lolli to explain all the things I can feel, but my untrained ear cannot hear! Better yet, she understands the music theory behind it. 💜
Layne is beatboxer, baritone and violinist. Loved your reaction/analysis. I have listened to nearly all 800+ of VoicePlay's videos - I'm sure I've missed a few. This is my absolute favorite - it feels so perfectly done. I hadn't heard anything by Metallica so after I heard VP, I listened to Metallica and became aware of how much they honored Metallica while making it their own. WOW - I couldn't believe my ears. If you want to hear more of Cesar, try "I Can't Make You Love Me".
I found these two songs by Voice Play done back in 2015 & they are amazing. I don't think many people have heard of them. 1. One Minute Musical ( Miley Cyrus ) music & lyrics are by Geoff Castallucci & it is hilarious. 2. One Minute Musical ( Light Bulb ) music & lyrics are by Eli & it is a fun song. Take a listen to them. I have been requesting them from just about every reactor but so far none of them will react to them. I guess that's because they aren't getting any request for them other than mine.
@@marshayoung9387 I must have found those 2 fairly early in going through VPs stuff. They are funny and definitely worth watching the science classes. I hadn't seen Stuck in Traffic. I'll help you spread the word.
It wasn't the headphones. ;) Of all the 'vocal coach analysis' type reactions to this cover I've watched so far, I think overall I've enjoyed yours most. Not only were you very appropriately blown away by the arrangement and the vocal skill on display, you let the song play in decent stretches and focused on the highlights instead of stopping every few seconds to pick each tiny element apart, which can very quickly become infuriating. And you scored some extra brownie points with this fan by noticing and appreciating Cesar's (fourth from the left) brief but lovely solo line. Too many reactors breeze right on by without even acknowledging it. Thanks for sharing your reaction, it was fun and engaging! I look forward to seeing more.
I absolutely agree with your comment about Cesar’s brief moment. It doesn’t get talked about enough. It’s one of my favorite parts and integral to Geoff’s contrasting part directly after! So I was so happy that she acknowledged and truly appreciated that moment!
I know nothing about singing or music, but I do so appreciate what appears to be YOUR ability to hear so much going on....and you seem to know what you are on about....you appear to have massive technical knowledge of music and singing. It's so good to find a "Reacts to...." person that knows so much and can hear so much going on. Thank you
I am so thankful that you not only say what is happening vocally, you also give examples. I have not had any vocal training, but I have a passion for learning. Other vocal coach reactions are great, but are clearly geared toward people who have experience and training vocally. You are teaching me by coming to my level, which is very low, and breaking things down in a way I can understand. Then you add actual audio examples to let me connect the explanation to the overall experience. You have gained my deepest respect and my subscription. I can't wait to check out more of your videos! ❤❤❤
You have no idea how enjoying is watching you enjoying the music..🙂👏👏👍. I am still waiting for your reaction to "Hoist the colours" and "We don't talk about Bruno" by the VoicePlay.
I swear I'll watch anything you post, just saying. Your humor, cuts, and personality makes your videos the best. Throw in how you use words I know and explanations that can follow (since I have zero rhythm and can't carry a tune no matter how hard I try).
Your meticulously scrumptious breakdown of that incredible performance was truly a masterclass. Whew! It is such a pleasure to incorporate more knowledge into my ever expanding musical lexicon. Austrian Audio is an awesome company. Glad you got yourself a pair of great headphones. Personally, that's the only way I will listen to music. Also, I just love your reactions.
The detail you go into reacting to this song is insane. It's like other reactors give you a headline, or good ones give you an abstract, but you give us the whole article!
A few weeks ago I randomly stumbled upon the beatboxing world and a few days later I found your reaction channel! And I'm super glad I did. You truly are the best vocal coach on this platform and I love your style, your energy, your thirst for new experiences. And you know what sets you apart from other content creators? It's your sheer knowledge of music production, harmony, anatomy and vocal technique! And your interest in lesser-known, exotic techniques. Not only in beatboxing but here too, for example, with subharmonics and all this pharyngeal talk I love so much. All this flattery aside, I come here to ask you for more beatbox reaction videos. Hehehe. Shameless, I know. But as a phonetics/linguistics graduate, I'm super interested to hear your opinions and analyses on those otherwordly sounds and techniques. Especially so that I can better transcribe and reproduce them :) But anything would be highly appreciated, really. You content is marvellous. Thanks for reading this lord-of-the-rings-unabridged-edition-long comment and I hope you have a great Sunday! Kisses from France
Awhhh you darling human thank you so so much!! I do love a bit of pharyngeal talk 😍 there will be loads and loads more reactions to beatbox performance. I make a new analysis every week 💜 lots of love always
You are such a great professional, natural teacher and gorgeously comfortable presence on camera, I always learn something from your reaction, thanks!!
I really enjoy the analysis that is musically technical, but explains it simply enough for non-musicians to understand. (or those like me who are/were musicians but maybe not that good at theory. :) )
I love your reactions, FVM, I really find your excitement while watching and analyzing to be quite entertaining in and of itself. I am sure that you will find other Voiceplay covers to be quite incredible as well, especially Hoist the Colours, The Dragonborn Comes, and In the Hall of the Mountain King, to name a few.
You’re the only analytical reactor that I can rewatch your analysis and not just your reactions, because a) you always seem to see a different side of it than other analyzers, and b) your personality is so delightfully quirky it reminds me of the surprise jelly-beans in Harry Potter 😂 Also, as an aside, in case you didn’t know (though you probably did) this arrangement was done by Geoff-and the main arrangers of the group tend to be Geoff and Layne-(Layne arranged Oogie Boogie) and I think that’s so cool, mainly because they both have their unique style that is so FREAKIN beautiful and somehow always suited for the song they arrange.
I've been hoping for another VoicePlay reaction forever! Worth the wait, though. Highly recommend VP's Warriors (more VioLayne!), Hoist the Colors and Queen in 5 Minutes!
This is the second time I’ve watched your reaction to this, and I appreciate it all the more for having seen your interview with Peter Barber. Terrific content. Thank you.
You are an absolute delight to watch..and I'm stoked you are diving into VoicePlay. Theyvare the gift that keeps on giving and it's ridiculous how talented they are!
I love how you hear, react physically, recreate and explain the yummy complex chords in different songs. Those chords really add so much to the feeling and impact of songs, even though most of us really don't get the how or why.😊
hey what a great reaction! you've done a very good job making me understand what is going on! Geoff is not only an incredible singer but also an amazing arranger!
I love this since I first heard it, and watched most of the reactions. Yours is one of the very best, and also fun! I couldn't stop laughing since you said do-do, towards the beginning. I love your reactions!
I enjoy 3x more watching your reaction than the very video your reacting to. Your edits are killer! Your commentary is beyond dope! And the entertainment value is righteously sick! Keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep watching with glee!
Another amazing review!!! Very detailed and instructional video done in the most funny and entertaining way! Great voice with such range, too.No one else on UA-cam like you. 👏
Great stuff! When you were talking about Geoff's solo, you mentioned he slips into his vocal fry on that G1. Truth is, that was a G1 in full chest voice, but Geoff likes to compress his extreme low chest notes so much that they almost have that "robotic" thickness to them. It's really some amazing stuff.
I love your reactions, so much heart and soul is given to us viewers, and you truly break down the pieces better than anyone i have seen. You really should try the In the hall of the mountain king that Voiceplay did some time ago (No words, of course as it is a orchestral work by Edvard Grieg) It is also a hoot to watch as they are all dressed for the occasion.
FVM, in "every sense of the word" ( 🙂), what an insight! You provide us with so many details about the nuances that this amazing group of individuals have introduced into this production. You are a superstar! But I also have to mention the individuals in this performance. I am humbled by their collective talent. If Zeus and Jupiter had kids together, collectively they would be called "Voiceplay"! Geoff. Gmphfff. Mind blowing. J None. Amazing. Eli. WTF dude??? Cesar. OMG! Layne. You are the master of beatbox and the bloody fiddle???? If reincarnation is real, and it works 🙂, I would love to come back in life as a Voiceplay member. I stand in awe (and in jealousy to be honestly fair) at the amazing talent on display here! Keep on reacting please! Of all the reactions out there, yours are the most detailed, informative, entertaining and superb that I have come across. With thanks!!!!! PS. A final note. Arrangement by: Layne Stein, Geoff Castellucci and KATHY CASTELLUCCI (well done girl)
14:24 I love the way Geoff shows off his range singing the entire "All these words I don't just say" starting from right up there with the others and down to that low chord you loved so much.
Dear sweet Lolli, I keep coming back to this one. You're knowledgable, funny, expressive and genuine. But that bit toward the end... Well, if watching reactions is like watching a video with a friend, I definitely need more friends in my life who can get a twitching, welling eye and a catch in their throat over a beautiful piece of music. You're just the best, aren't you?
Definitely do more VoicePlay videos. Even if you have heard the song by them, the way you break it down ( because I’m a bit of a music nerd ) helps people learn how music is written to bring out certain feelings and emotions.
I first heard your reaction to this almost a year ago (when you did it). I liked, but didn't comment. I have come back to this a few times since. Today your obvious glee just hit me in the feels. SUCH a wonderful reaction and analysis! I always enjoy your metaphors and simile. REALLY an incredible reaction to one of their best vocal performances (which is saying something!)!!
Well, I thought it was a lovely tutorial on syncopation! 5:24 And if you want a real 'acapella train' treat in a VoicePlay cover, give The Little Mermaid Medley a go. Geoff does something pretty special and unique toward the end of his solo that, in terms of the vocal mastery, will give you 'Oogie Boogie vibes' (not to be confused with 'boogie vibes')! 🤣
Oh this was great! I did a reaction to this as well, but I can’t talk to singing. (I’m on the audio engineering and composing side). I love hearing your explanation of the vocals! That was fun. The low notes killed me! So fun to react to! Cheers! Hope all is well!

Your so good at analyzing. I really enjoy how good you read music.. plus you are gorgeous!.
Fantastic reaction as always! Truly are the pinnacle of reactors.
You always make me smile with your enthusiasm :)
You are so smart and soo beautiful and love your reactions
I dearly appreciate your unique analysis of the monsters of acapella majestry (Voiceplay/Home Free/Pentatonix)! They are so incredibly amazing and so are you! I am amazed at how low you can sing for a woman. Wow. I can't wait to see your next reaction. Perhaps Silent Lucidity by Queensryche or Honeybee by Steam Powered Giraffe? Also looking forward to more collaborations with Julia Nilon or a future collaboration with the Charismatic Voice or Beth Roars!
Watching her and Elizabeth happily geeking out over a piece would be SO much fun! LOL
@@SeliahK Toss Julia in there for even more fun. A Trio of Red-heads who actually know what they are talking about. :)
One of my favorite Metallica songs is fade to black... great reaction
I'm waving you back with my leg, now ❤ Great reaction!
Brilliant analysis of a Brilliant rendition of a Brilliant song... Thanx!
Came to this channel for the music and continue to watch for your passion and smile. Keep it up gorgeous!
That was just glorious! Nothing else to say 🤩
Surprised at your lovely alto voice - great examples and analysis. Thanks.
I like that you don't just hear the music. You feel it with your whole body. Shows that you know what you're doing. :)
This was fantastic!!! Please also consider reacting to their version of “Dream On”.
💜💜💜
I second this!
@@lkayh I can't wait for Lolli to explain all the things I can feel, but my untrained ear cannot hear! Better yet, she understands the music theory behind it. 💜
I concur!
What a show this is. So happy I found you.
once everymonth, i come back to this reaction, just because of the feelings. Thank you.
Voiceplay did a "Wicked" medley. Geoff did the arrangement. He worked on it for around 2 years. I think you would be very impressed.
Loli, your emotions are very organic. Feel... petrichor 😁 by your reaction (in addition to performing artists, of course)
Thank you
1.2k likes and 0 dislikes as of writing this. Most positive vibes of any channel on this website, I swear
I’m so lucky!! 🥰
Glorious edit work, and vocal analysis, and reaction, and nerding out, and overall video. You glorious specimen!
Your meticulously scrumptious breakdown of that incredible performance was truly a masterclass. Whew! It is such a pleasure to incorporate more knowledge into my ever expanding musical lexicon. You are simply the best my dear. Your sheer joy was so contagious .. . So fun! . . The very best wishes for you! the double hair flip at the end . . .Vous êtes belle 💓 . . ✌🙏👍🇺🇸🇩🇰🏴☠️. Addendum. . . RECHENKA
You are so lovely Frederick, thank you for radiating so much love and positivity all the time 💜
Was waiting for you to experience VioLayne! Not disappointed...
I so love your joy and enthusiasm.
I enjoyed your reaction and analysis ALMOST as much as watching VP's masterful rendition. Brava!
Great, as always, your enthusiasm is infectious. You make me smile the whole time.
Especially so that I can better transcribe and reproduce them :)
But anything would be highly appreciated, really.
This was such a joy to watch!
Your facial expressions alone told of just how deeply you were loving this musical performance.
I always for each and everyone of your reactions!! Well done!!
The editing on your videos is just amazing!!
Your energy is infectious , thank you for this video.
You’re the only analytical reactor that I can rewatch your analysis and not just your reactions, because a) you always seem to see a different side of it than other analyzers, and b) your personality is so delightfully quirky it reminds me of the surprise jelly-beans in Harry Potter 😂
Also, as an aside, in case you didn’t know (though you probably did) this arrangement was done by Geoff-and the main arrangers of the group tend to be Geoff and Layne-(Layne arranged Oogie Boogie) and I think that’s so cool, mainly because they both have their unique style that is so FREAKIN beautiful and somehow always suited for the song they arrange.
I've been hoping for another VoicePlay reaction forever! Worth the wait, though. Highly recommend VP's Warriors (more VioLayne!), Hoist the Colors and Queen in 5 Minutes!
Best reaction/analysis of this performance. Loved it. Thank you for making this.
When u explain the music, it is so awesome to listen to U. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much James 🥹
Respect & appreciation for your enlightening
6-minute joyous musical excursion 🔥
And if you want a real 'acapella train' treat in a VoicePlay cover, give The Little Mermaid Medley a go. Geoff does something pretty special and unique toward the end of his solo that, in terms of the vocal mastery, will give you 'Oogie Boogie vibes' (not to be confused with 'boogie vibes')! 🤣
This is absolutely the best reaction to this VP song I’ve seen. The enthusiasm is wonderful. Thank you.
Oh this was great! I did a reaction to this as well, but I can’t talk to singing. (I’m on the audio engineering and composing side). I love hearing your explanation of the vocals! That was fun. The low notes killed me! So fun to react to!
Cheers! Hope all is well!
I love your reactions. Technical, excitement, appreciation and just the complete love of your music.
Your are also a very lovely singer xx
