Almost 2 years ago, at 65 yrs young, I had a major health issue, ended a relationship, sold a home and moved to a new state all in 1 year. I can truly say that everything that occurred was God's will and by his grace that I was able to not only survive but am now thriving in my new environment. I will admit that after the dust settled, I was a bit emotional about all the changes but also grateful for all of the blessings bestowed on me in the process. Ladies, be encouraged that whatever circumstances you face, God will always be there with you.

My son was on life support for 10 days after a cardiac event, at the young age of 39 .It was a gut wrenching decision to sign a DNR, but we knew in our hearts he was gone.I don't know how I made it through that time and his memorial, it;s a blur.I know I pulled strength from my strong faith and upbringing. I move forward every day for him, count my blessings , and give a wink to his pictures throughout my home. You must move forward.

I’m in a journey at this point of to major things. My granddaughter is very sick, she needs a liver. Drs. have said she needs a liver transplant in order to live. The other , my Son was sentenced to 50 years without parole on a crime he did not commit. He has served eleven of the fifty. If I allow this to control me. They would have a funeral very soon. I have refused to let that depress me because God has given me Peace beyond measure. I love your video it has inspired me to keep up the faith and like you said, “one day at a time” or I would missing the moments he has blessed me with. I’m am asking for your prayers. As a Christian mother of 4, married for 21yrs. The most difficult task and change for me was a personal tragedy, the loss of my Father.
Whatever our circumstances maybe in life, tests and trials is inevitable. So when they come to you, it is used to evaluate your knowledge of something, but it will also test your endurance. I learn to preserve through it with much FAITH and tenacity.

Dominique one day as I was feeling challenged by a family member, I felt the Holy Spirit tell me to “pivot”. I responded by plugging my attention and contributions into a different direction. That way I wasn’t stuck and frustrated and feeling unappreciated. So that’s my new mantra whenever I feel depleted in one area or dealing with challenging people, I just Pivot and put my energy, time and attention into a fresh outlet. It’s truly been so freeing and inspiring.

I voluntarily changed my whole life after some involuntary life changes had occurred. One of the changes included moving continents.
I actually moved to Dallas. (Never felt 'at home' there.) Accidentally, I flew back to Europe for my annual visit 2 days before the declaration of the worldwide pandemic. Traveling back was not possible for another 20 months or so. What seemed like yet another involuntary circumstance turned out to be a blessing: New-found gratitude for & appreciation of my true home, my roots & my identity.

Hi Dominique. My name is Tammy and I live in Tennessee. You inspire me everyday. I turn 60 in June of this year but although I turn the big 60, you keep me thriving that life does end. I have nothing holding me back but myself. Your confidence and love of life show me that life doesn't end when we at a loss of words as to "what am I going to do now?" You have helped me in knowing that, "yes, she is gone, but I'm not". Thank your daily (I pull up my big girl panties and I get to living or I get to dying"). Thank you everyday for inspiring me not only keep living but live like there's no tomorrow. You are beautiful inside and out. My God bless you everyday for inspiring me to keep on keeping for me. God bless Tammy.

Best wishes and I hope your country will not be at war much longer. My mother passed away over 20 years ago, but when she was a widow, all of my sisters wanted her to move for they lived. She chose to stay in her own home in her original city because she said you cannot follow your kids. She said if I moved where they are, their jobs or their lives could change and they could move somewhere else and there I would be stuck. That’s a piece of advice that I would like to share with you. But do what will make you happy. ❤

I was literally thinking about you yesterday and how you've gone through similar changes and handled them with such grace and excitement. I just turned 56 last week and have followed you for years. I was taking care of an elderly parent who was full of life and didn’t at all seem like 95 years old. He lived alone just less than a mile from me in his own home and suddenly went downhill. He ended up passing in September and it’s been devastating to say the least. My beloved mother passed when I was 30 and that was my first experience with major grief. I was previously with my ex husband since I was 15 and got divorced when I was 36 for a multitude of reasons. He recently passed away with our two children by his side. It’s another devastating blow. I have gained a little weight and overthink everything!! Your message tonight when I watched this brought me hope and uplifted my spirits. Thank you so much for being real and sharing your experiences. Love from Wyoming 💕🙏🏼

I have watched your platform long enough to appreciate the changes you have been through. I see that some comments on this video are really nasty. I'm sorry about that because you don't deserve that. Things that keep us on our toes so to speak. What matters? Sharing and caring. Yes, being a light. Trying to be there for someone else. I try to keep my eyes off myself and keep them where God wants them to be. From what He lays upon my heart to pray about, what to do, whatever, wherever He is calling me. At almost 75, remembering He has it all under control and I just need to follow His lead.

Every change in my life has always led to something more beautiful and fulfilling than I could ever imagine. Didn't feel like it at the time, but the pure joy came eventually. And I think many people feel that way or could feel that way, if they reflected on their past with a bit of "la vie en rose." I appreciate it so much, Dominique, that you are addressing this topic. Aged 50, only child, Dad died (elderly after years with Alzheimer's), husband of 20 years facing losing a job he'd been in for 33 years, marriage a bit rocky then Mum died 9 months after Dad. 3 weeks before Xmas. 2 weeks later, husband left to be with someone who'd dumped him 31 years earlier. The question - what do I do? How do I take responsibility?? Well - once the dust settled from the shock, realised I was looking at a blank page with limitless possibilities. Had a good friend living & working in Thailand. Went to visit her & saw a way through. I re-trained to teach English as a foreign language and with my BA (Hons) degree was able to find work easily. Didn't want to live in Bangkok so moved 100 miles south, found a lovely flat right next to a beautiful beach & had 3 amazing years working and playing hard. I'm spiritual but not religious and I know many of you find your faith in God a great comfort. My faith is in me, in my resilience and I celebrate that. I'm now 71, thriving & hoping for many more fulfilling years.

Losing my mother when she was my age (67) and I was 32 was the hardest thing to date I have been through. She had cancer and I lived 4 hours away. It pained me not to be there all the time. I had 3 little girls at that time to care for ages 7-11. The last 3 months of her life I would go down every weekend just to be with her. That has been almost 35 years ago, and I still miss her.
I think you are right when you said you probably were born with a positive mindset. I'm more of a realist and my husband of 48 years is an optimist. In our entire marriage I never once heard him say a negative thing about any situations we were facing. In fact, his favorite story in the Bible is when Joshua and Calab said, "We are well able to take the land!" That's how he has always lived his life.
I loved the saying, and I have been repeating it since I watched this Monday as I'm facing a physical issue: "It is what it is, until it isn't." Thank you for that and your wonderful thoughts. BTW, your profile is beautiful! God bless!

You are such a light Dominique. I have followed you for years and have always liked and related to you as we have been going through some similar changes (divorce, age, etc) and felt like we could be very good friends, and yet you also serve as such an inspiration and mentor in how you articulate your thoughts, feelings and perspectives. Navigating major life changes can be scary at times (while I also see the silver linings and opportunities in it as well) and I think we can all "loop" into those fears sometimes, but your heartfelt 5 points really reminded me to live in the present and not get caught in that loop as much. Thank you for all you do, how you show up, and articulating your grace and perspective with the world. I appreciate you!

Endometriosis, Late Stage Lyme Disease and Valley Fever have kept me in bed and there are often more bad days then good. The biggest changes that were almost forced upon me was embracing a minimalist mindset and solitude. Both make me feel surprisingly abundant! Less is more IS real. I have let go of so much stuff because you are kind of required to due to health reasons. My joints ache all the time and my brain is fried. My husband has been a huge help in understanding my need to downsize and eliminate clutter, chaos and an unnecessarily busy social calendar. I don't know why people associate downsizing with down grading and solitude with loneliness. Now I can rest completely guilt free & chaos free while enjoying my own company, even on my worst days. Self-care oftentimes gets put on the back burner when you are drowning in too much stuff, too much square footage and too many activities (including so many doctor's appointments). Make the space that you spend the most time in when not feeling good or recovering from treatment your sanctuary. Don't let the world (television, mail, bills, to do lists, etc.) raid this space of rest and recovery. That was the first immediate change I had made for myself. Nurture yourself and be gentle with yourself.
      🦋🙏💙

Thank you for being so candid and sharing what happened when literally watching your mom die. I just lost my father last October 2023. It was a long process, he had Lewy body dementia and I was his caregiver for his journey through it. As a result of stress, side effect cortisol levels spiked higher than ever and I’m going through menopause also. They don’t play well together I bloomed from 140 to 190 pounds. Mind you at 5’8 not bad but still overweight. In the multilevel of grieving process with new body and the shock of it. My mind is on a wild ride. Fortunately, long time ago, I went on a stubborn journey of creating my bedroom for my sanctuary, my safe place, free place to just be. My self care thing that I knew in advance and prepared for it. I love I just heard you say,”stinking thinking.” That’s a phrase we say a lot in recovery modalities. I constantly have to be aware of that. Thank you for the reminder. I can go down a rabbit hole of that stinking thinking of I’m fat, I’m this but then I have to pivot, as Pastor Rick Warren say, “ change the auto pilot”. Whenever I start to go there God is so amazing and brings me to a picture of my dad’s smile even when he was really sick. As sad as it is that he’s gone, he and God reached beyond to me and tell me, “ it’s ok!” It makes me stop. Take a breath. Acknowledge the feelings but not let them dictate where I’m going. I truly believe that those feelings are important to acknowledge and feel but not to let them take over. Remember who has the power … I do! And with God all things are possible! I will overcome. God made me that way. This too will pass and as far as my dad. I miss him. Yes…. But it’s time for me to carry the torch for God and to pass on whatever I learned from that loving person God gave on earth to others.
Thank you for being you and sharing your life with us.

Dominique, this one resonated with me.
I'm 61 and have changed careers 4 times in 10 years. Yikes. This one is my fit's just. I'm feeling the age thing and my healthy lifestyle changed and my healthy eating habits have changed. Not drastic or horrible, but enough to feel it in my body.
I like you try to concentrate on sleep eating right and exercise.
One thing I do get is regular walks/hikes with my dog, which helps with quiet time, and that is a priority.
Thank you for the reassurance that change is inevitable, and I feel the bad will turn into the good. Just wait!
Thank you for this content and being real.

Finding fault in a new place, no matter how wonderful it is, is part of what is known as "culture shock". Nothing is like in the old place, food is not as good as in my old place, the sky is not as blue..etc etc I should know because change was a way of life for me and my family for 33 years. I am so glad you are adjusting and finding new things and places to enjoy. The overly planning for the future, resonated with me. I must learn to trust that God has indeed a plan even if it is not clear to us right now. Trust, for me, is the word especially because no matter how much we worry, plan or over think, it is out of our control and totally in His hands. Thank you so much Dominique for this timely podcast. Blessings.

Fabulous podcast. Most of us grow up with so many idealistic ways to live - having a certain job, getting married, having children etc etc, having to (happily) compromise along the way, that we can feel lost when alone as well as having less time in front of us than we’ve had. However life is for living, with lots of options and ways to engage as much as we want to and it’s so great that positive people such as you D are happily helping us live our best lives. Uk fan!

LIke everyone else, in my 83 years, I have had many changes, opportunities and challenges in my life. I think I handle challenges and change well. I am a survivor at heart, something my Mother taught me. However.... first of all I have a 5 minute pity party and wonder why me??.... Then I look to see how I can do what I need to do to move forward in a positive way. I also am glad I have that ability. It has served me well. Thanks Dominique, for laying it all out there and sharing it with us. I appreciate that about you so much. Dear Dominque!!! Love you! I'm moving to downtown Austin in a month. I'm excited but this will be the 3rd move in 4 years. We lived for years in a little town in Wisconsin...raised our family there, and thought I'd be there forever. I love the Midwest. I felt like a fish out of water. Literally because there is not much water in Texas compared to Wisconsin. It took some time but I have come to accept it and embrace it. We have kept our lake house up north and live there in the summer months. Way too hot here LOL. I finally understood the need for some therapy and it's been life changing. I love change too but this is a lot of moving. At 63 years old I'm finally beginning to accept who I am and getting out of my comfort zone. I am empowering myself to take risks. I was stuck but am doing so much better...finally. What a journey this life is. I choose life and contentment over self pity and resentment. Thank you for always being transparent.

As a child I went through so many changes. Because of this for a big part of my adult life I feared change, I was negative about change, I felt anxious about any changes.
And then I learned to let go a bit of the control feeling and God showed me that change is most usually something you need in your life therefore people will many times refer to changes as good for their lives.
I’m still not where I’d like to be as far as change but thank You God for helping me to get much better day by day♥️
