This was such a beautiful film; the characters and the scripting were very deeply moving. The Sith are in general more interesting than that of the Jedi. The Sith evolved over many centuries while the JEdi remained practically stagnant and unchanging.
An interesting character must have flaws. Something to overcome, to fight against, or something to be driven by. The Sith lend themselves to this more easily because they often don't pretend otherwise. The Jedi are harder to make interesting in that way because of the focus on a kind of serene perfection. Look at all of the memorable and "interesting" Jedi. They ALMOST fell, or they struggle with their duties, or they failed in some way and must atone. Few people remember the Archive Librarian, because she wasn't very interesting. An average Jedi. But if there is a named Sith, even if they died quick, the often go out doing something terrible and flaw-filled. If Disney hired Anthony Pietromonaco, he would be as much a slave to their agenda as anyone else, and if not, they would fire him. yeah, creative control would be non existent, so many check boxes to be filled so a project being released is greenlit. Its like hiring great directors like Nolan/Kubrick/Tarantino/Villeanueve but have crap writers, producers, actors and studio executives telling you what to do.
I’m a musician...25 years ago if one wanted to create a pro grade recording, it was time to hire a producer and head off to a commercial studio. Big bucks. There were an exceptional few that had a special something that allowed them to work in a, by comparison, primitive home studio and be commercially successful. Now most anyone with some effort, $1000-$1500 in gear and adequate self education can create a pro grade EP or album if they are committed enough. My point? This fan film, an amateur effort, is proof that one can craft a professional level film, albeit a short, but a quality production nevertheless. Technology is a great equalizer and democratizer in the right hands.
This was indescribable. You conveyed more through her actions and desperation than words could ever have done. Also not placing a red blade on the master's lightsaber was very disconcerting. You started out not knowing if he was Sith or a Dark Jedi. No matter which he was in your mind he was definitely unhinged and insane. I would love to know more of their backstories. Thank you and your group for a great story.
This is easily one of the best Star Wars fan films ever produced to this day. Definitely goes in my top 5 favorites of all time. That's saying a lot, too, considering the numerously large amount of SW fan films that exist which of seen. It's far and few between when we get a gem, like this one.
🌟 *The gang of emerald lightsabers looked impressive, reminded me of the Nazguls.* But, the design of the emerald lightsaber, tho. The tiny partical effects around the laser. Very satisfying. 🤤🤤
Wait is the Master speaking ancient Sith!? Also the kyber saber is just amazing, I wish we could see a force user control kyber to that degree, most duelist's and force users alike depend on technology giving them an ease of control over the kyber. Another thing I really like is that she had multiple burn marks on her body, making her failures known along her path of her training. DUDE, even the master has the same marks as her, he was training her as he was trained!
I'm not entirely sure how so many fans have overlooked this particular gem. It's one of the most solid Star Wars fan films out there - really great costumes and setting, it really makes me wonder how you pulled it all off. Terrific work on this, guys.
There are dozens of star wars fan films out there now, so I could see how many would miss it, fortunately "The Force is strong with these 12 fan films" lead me here
Wow. This is one of the best fan-films I've seen. It gives so much in so little time. I love the visualization of the Sith mantra, the fight itself was creative and innovative. I love when they both turn off their lightsabers. It shows how she learns and adapts her strategy. And it just worked visually. Everything about it was great.
@@buddhafollower Your, genius bar, is mighty low. Lucas is depressed because he knows he's just a hack that got lucky. He hasn't made anything remotely good since 1985. TRUTH!
This was brilliant! Everything was done to perfection. I've watched SO MANY of these and this was near the best. Second only to Darth Maul: Apprentice. I really hope we get to see some future exploits of Kia.
I am speechless. Usually I find something wrong with most Star Wars fan films but this is the most amazing one I’ve seen so far. This should be expanded on. I want more of this please.
“Perceive that which cannot be seen with the eye.” -- Miyamoto Musashi, A Book of Five Rings: The Classic Guide to Strategy. Excellent film, excellent story, excellent acting!
Very well done you guys! It feels like star wars. Not something from the inner circle of planets but something that would take place in the outer rim. Some hermit type Sith searching to teach a new apprentice. Very cool
The effects specialist KILLED it! Amazing choreography, amazing effects, fantastic story for a short film. Blown away. THE FORCE IS STRONG WITH THESE CREATORS!
The producers of Star Wars need to seriously consider hiring the creators of this fan made short film because it is beautifully created! The 11 minutes of this film was better than the full scale Hollywood production of some of the Star War prequels in the Phantom Menace series. It was also interesting seeing the training if a Sith as opposed to a Jedi. If your a SW fan this is definitely worth checking out!
Wow! Am VERY proud to have worked on the Conceptual Designs of the Sith, Jedi Costumes and Storyboards and working with the Director. But the cast and crew also did such a fantastic job! Thank you Kendall for such a great compliment to the Director and his fine Manifest Crew ^_^.
I agree but unfortunately, the same company that owns Mickey Mouse now owns Star Wars. Star Wars will never be as dark as it should be. There always be a bad guy, but the dark side of the force will never truly be shown because it would alienate 70% of its audience target.
The master's movements were so bloody awesome. There was something so unnaturally fast, and intimidating about them. That, coupled with his tattered attire, and voice...
Damn good. Summarizes the pinnacle of the Sith Lord and Apprentice relationship. Cruelty, mystery, subtlety hidden inside layers of violence and endless trials of will.
Amazing quality of all parts. Cinematography, acting, script, score... well done. Star Wars truly belongs to the fans now. Disney isn’t canon. The fan films like this are.
It's so well done you'd think this was a produced pitch concept for studio heads to consider but it is in fact a fan film. Perfect execution. I thought the music was already existing Star Wars but it's original!!
I love how I am not able to tell if the master is a sith or a jedi, because they are both the same, an extreme side of the force. When a force user is too much of a jedi/sith or a dark/light side user they are both out of balance and only in the middle is when a character is truly good. Anakin/Vader needed to experience both sides and master both of them to bring balance to the force as the chosen one, he needed to destroy the jedi council because they were "corrupt" during the clone wars, so the empire needed to be born so that anakin can not only bring back balance from the dark side but the light too and after him Luke could restart the jedi council as something closer in balance and make them what they should've been.
A 12 Minute Fan-Film was more intense, real and entertaining than the 3 Sequels from Disney. Impressive! Hopefully I will find more of these Diamonds on UA-cam....
I loved the lightsaber effects and the way in which lighting was used, in the making of it and in terms of how it was used in the lightsaber choreography, which was also believable.
See the credits of all who worked on the Choreography at the official website which is listed in the page details above :). - MAVIII (Conceptual/Storyboard Designer for the film)
Great effort. I liked how you focus on two characters. Some interesting ideas were the Sith wielding non-red lightsabers and the Sith master being able to become one with the Force.
Andrew Lim Hey, funny finding you here, my fellow Quoran and Star wars fan! I am Diego. So, did you ended up enjoying this one more than Threads of Destiny for one reason or another? I seem to recall an answer of yours from last year or so that said that was one of the few Star Wars fan films you have seen. So how does this one compares?
Great Star Wars Tale! Loved the Grey/Dark side theme! The lead actress does an above the duty performance, made me crave to see her in more of her adventures. Great Work, please keep making Great Star Wars!!!
I can't believe the Sith Code was recited! (This is the Sith Code) Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
Congratulations on the great work! The only thing that did not stay true to the canonical universe of Star Wars was the luminosity of the sabers. But do not compromise the quality of your work. Beautiful tale.
Somehow a few passionate people managed to show a far better character arc in 10 minutes then a bunch of overrated and overpaid moviemakers in 2 whole movies
I’ve watched this a few times now and I love to think of it as a legend that’s passed down to generations of Jedi and Sith, a legend older than even the Old Republic. That’s my little way of making it fit into canon, just imagine a Master of the Force reciting this whole film to you. It’s straight up a Force Legend.
I am not accustom to watching a Star Wars fan film without loosing interest or fast forwarding some parts, and I don't ever remember commenting on a fan film before but this merited an exception. This film kept me interested thru its entirety. The story had me questioning how she came to be there and under what circumstances, and who the nemesis was (rouge Jedi or Sith); which gave it an intriguing mystery (a weakness of mine). I enjoyed your use of the darkness not just as an element of the fight but as an added depth of the situation. Also, the CG was used very effectively in the detail of the fight scenes, showing "sparks" or remnants of sparks after each clashing of the light sabers, and the formation (and the imperfections) of the blades of each one. I am not film critique nor do I pretend to be. I'm just an old guy, who's a Star Wars fan ever since I watched the original film (Episode IV) in 1977 at my local theater; multiple times. Content creators like you keep adding to the Star Wars universe with these fan films and I, for one, say "Thank you".
This was a damn good fan film! The quality, costuming, storyline, all of it came together well and gave a look at the Sith that isn't normally portrayed.
I've been on a SWU fan film kick lately and this by far is the best one I've seen yet.. If I didn't know any better I'd sware fencing was both actors hobby .goat damn they were good!!!.. Awesome film, and thanks for putting it up
Thank you! :D I'm the Conceptual and Storyboard Designer on the Film! Mo Meinhart (Makeup/Special Effects), Hannah Athena Lawton (Costumes) and Jaremy Aiello (Sculptures) did a fantastic job giving life to the designs me and the Director (Anthony) came up with :). Thanks again! - MAVIII

yeah, creative control would be non existent, so many check boxes to be filled so a project being released is greenlit. Its like hiring great directors like Nolan/Kubrick/Tarantino/Villeanueve but have crap writers, producers, actors and studio executives telling you what to do.
The main meaning of this movie is that you don't need to have a lot of money to make a good film :)
Someone actually managed to pull off a convincing and well made example of Sith Illusions. Hats off to you all, it was frigging great.
Join to Kickstarter to produce the full movie, just beautiful.
Where is the Kickstarter link?! I want to help!
This is what happens when Star Wars is done with love:
Dark Legacy
Excellent job! One of my favorite things, among many in this film, was the wisps of sparks emanating from when the sabers clash. Bravo.
This was THE best fan film I've ever seen. The acting, the effects, the writing. All of it!
This is easily one of the best Star Wars fan films ever produced to this day. Definitely goes in my top 5 favorites of all time. That's saying a lot, too, considering the numerously large amount of SW fan films that exist which of seen. It's far and few between when we get a gem, like this one.
🌟 *The gang of emerald lightsabers looked impressive, reminded me of the Nazguls.*
But, the design of the emerald lightsaber, tho. The tiny partical effects around the laser. Very satisfying. 🤤🤤
no offence but i think you're colour blind cuz im pretty sure that was turquoise
@@scare-crow3863
*"Colour blind"...*
@@scare-crow3863 this one does not realize that turquoise emeralds are a thing
@@Gunth0r i think he was talking about the colour mate
Wait is the Master speaking ancient Sith!?
Also the kyber saber is just amazing, I wish we could see a force user control kyber to that degree, most duelist's and force users alike depend on technology giving them an ease of control over the kyber.
Another thing I really like is that she had multiple burn marks on her body, making her failures known along her path of her training.
DUDE, even the master has the same marks as her, he was training her as he was trained!
Every now and then I return here to watch this
This is fantastic! I love the primitive lightsaber!
This was just excellent. A flash of light in the current darkness of this franchise.
George Lucas should’ve never sold it to the evil mouse…
Great job! Kinda wish this was the intro to the next official movie...
dude rey would get her ass handed to her by this chick lol
In 10 minutes you actually got me more invested than most of the entire franchise, and yeah including original trilogy.
@@buddhafollower Your, genius bar, is mighty low. Lucas is depressed because he knows he's just a hack that got lucky. He hasn't made anything remotely good since 1985. TRUTH!
@@buddhafollower Facts straight & mind is in order. Sorry that you continue to be so confused.
This was brilliant! Everything was done to perfection. I've watched SO MANY of these and this was near the best. Second only to Darth Maul: Apprentice. I really hope we get to see some future exploits of Kia.
Kenobi is even better. If you haven't seen it, you really need to.
I am speechless. Usually I find something wrong with most Star Wars fan films but this is the most amazing one I’ve seen so far. This should be expanded on. I want more of this please.
How does this not have more upvotes!? Super high quality production.
“Perceive that which cannot be seen with the eye.” -- Miyamoto Musashi, A Book of Five Rings: The Classic Guide to Strategy. Excellent film, excellent story, excellent acting!
need to see more about the Sith... brilliant bit of work this, hats off to all involved. 🖒🖒
Very well done you guys!
It feels like star wars. Not something from the inner circle of planets but something that would take place in the outer rim. Some hermit type Sith searching to teach a new apprentice.
Very cool
Well that was time we spent. Kudos to the creator/s of this masterpiece
Thanks, Kendall, we appreciate it!
I tend to agree. There are some amazing people doing great work.... who are not in Hollywood and (practically) editing from their desktop.
Kendall Williams thank you!
Anakin/Vader needed to experience both sides and master both of them to bring balance to the force as the chosen one, he needed to destroy the jedi council because they were "corrupt" during the clone wars, so the empire needed to be born so that anakin can not only bring back balance from the dark side but the light too and after him Luke could restart the jedi council as something closer in balance and make them what they should've been.
if there was like an oscar type thing for fan films this would be the best picture
Damn! Thank you :D There you go Anthony :).

And I like Pie too!
Star Wars is golfing for Donald Trump or not make American great again
Extraordinary Film! It's a mystery that I have not come across it. The music, props, the zoom in establishing shot--all a masterful composition!
Darth Bane!!!! If these guys made the Darth Bane Trilogy......wow...just...wow. This was amazing.
What ??? this came out 3 years ago and UA-cam NEVER recommended it to me ??
MASTERPIECE
Magnificent. Wonderful. Epic, Perfect. This must be a "star wars story". Disney: Hear us.
Me: Mom, can I have some Star Wars?
Mom: We have Star Wars at home.
Star Wars at home :
Me: I'LL TAKE IT!
This is underrated.
Bruen Astralith that made no sense at all bro
Great effort. I liked how you focus on two characters. Some interesting ideas were the Sith wielding non-red lightsabers and the Sith master being able to become one with the Force.
Andrew Lim Hey, funny finding you here, my fellow Quoran and Star wars fan! I am Diego.
So, did you ended up enjoying this one more than Threads of Destiny for one reason or another? I seem to recall an answer of yours from last year or so that said that was one of the few Star Wars fan films you have seen. So how does this one compares?
It’s 2022 and this fan film is still better than anything Disney has done
Fantastic, what a movie! I wish you could make a whole serie based on this film!
Great Star Wars Tale! Loved the Grey/Dark side theme! The lead actress does an above the duty performance, made me crave to see her in more of her adventures. Great Work, please keep making Great Star Wars!!!
loving the hum and shimmer of the green saber
The dark master is a combination of Darth Revan and Darth Bane🤯
Brilliant job and thank u!)
It's the strongest stars have hearts of kyber, however this idea of Jedi hearts becoming kyber is super cool
I can't believe the Sith Code was recited!
(This is the Sith Code)
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
I love how the green dude recites the sith code while they fight
That was gorgeous. Thank you!
I love the way the green saber looked
This short film is just Brilliant, Bravo!!
i love that both of the lightsaber beams are imperfect and unstable
I'm kinda sad you killed the Master... he did a fantastic job of making me like him. Plus.. cool voice.
He did not die, he joined the Force.
For a moment I thought he had used force transfer unto her, you can see hints at it after his body dissapears
Also guessed he transgerred his mind. And took her over.:) nice twist.
Somehow a few passionate people managed to show a far better character arc in 10 minutes then a bunch of overrated and overpaid moviemakers in 2 whole movies
Artūras Komarovas three
this should be a show.
Watched this 5 years ago...think of this often...best Sith blade ever!
"Impressive, most impressive." Btw, loved that you added the Sith code in the film! Keep on the good work!!! :D
There are few fan films that are actually good, with good choreography and intelligent and well-delivered dialog/monologue. This is one of them.
"not intended to compete with or undermine any existing or forthcoming material".... but does so anyway much to my and many other's delight.
He is not a sith this is not the sith code this is the code of the gray Jedi of the balance in the force this is a balanced Jedi
Impressive. The Dark Side is indeed strong with this one.
I must have watched dozens of Star Wars fan films over the years. But Dark Legacy, so far, still remains my favorite!
This is absolutely incredible!! Love it!
Uncle_Bob thank you Uncle Bob. It’s comments like these that keep me going
This was mind-blowing. Among the very best of fan films! I applaud you!
I'm just going through all my old liked videos and this is still one of my favourite fan films ever! Amazing work.
excellent work!
My hair stood up 7:35 and got chills several times . I have been loving ALL of the independent S.W. films but this is IT ! EXCELLENT
This was a damn good fan film! The quality, costuming, storyline, all of it came together well and gave a look at the Sith that isn't normally portrayed.
This was amazing! They should make a sequel.
Im pretty critical of fan films and this is by far one of the tops. I hope you guys do more
I've been on a SWU fan film kick lately and this by far is the best one I've seen yet.. If I didn't know any better I'd sware fencing was both actors hobby .goat damn they were good!!!.. Awesome film, and thanks for putting it up
Awesome work! Beautiful design on the Sith Lord. Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you! :D I'm the Conceptual and Storyboard Designer on the Film! Mo Meinhart (Makeup/Special Effects),
Hannah Athena Lawton (Costumes) and Jaremy Aiello (Sculptures) did a fantastic job giving life to the designs me and the Director (Anthony) came up with :).
Thanks again!

Very nice effects!!!!
You all did a wonderful job guys, Breathtaking figth and intense feeling around both Character !! luv it!
