SPECTRE | Guinness World Record Explosion
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- On this day in 2015, the scene from SPECTRE where Blofeld’s base is destroyed was filmed in the Moroccan desert. The stunt used 2223 gallons of fuel, 72lbs of explosives and was all captured in one take - it became the biggest explosion in film history and a Guinness World Record holder.
Greatest mastermind top 3 tasks:
1. Hire security that can't aim
2. Build a highly vulnerable base of operations built on a huge pressurised gas system
3. Give the man you want to kill a few seconds of secret talk time with his partner so that they can make an escape plan
Cheap labor isn't skilled....
Skilled labor isn't cheap.
@Thanos What in the world?

Looks like these henchmen are also proud graduates from the storm trooper school of professional shooting
They couldn't even hit a stationary target! And they waited with shooting Bond till he kicked the guard down and picked up a gun!
Actually, they're really good shooters, easily capable of hitting a target. The only problem here is that the target is James Bond.
Nothing new there, it's happened in every scene where Bond's been shot at since 1962
Yeah bond henchmen can be worthy rivals to stormtroopers when it comes to inaccuracy
I’m giving you the 1000th upvote.

Wtf 😂

I think Blofeld accidentally unlocked aimbot inside Bond's brain by those tiny drills.
XD
Blofeld more like Blow feld
Hahahah
I think Bond should owe a bit to his *augh* "adoptive brother" for actually re-awakening his shooting prowess after what had transpired in Skyfall.
this is like something I would have written as an 8 year old.
If you think that, then you are a complete fool. But hey, prove it, write something much better, get funding, and bam. If not, shut up.

@@appleskum6520 well it kind of is
@@appleskum6520 well it is not really good. Typical movie clishe. They hold their hands while running out. Christoph waltz leaves him lots of spaces because of the plot armour. And of course the security personal whose only Job is it to protect the facility can't hit a job cuz they only have low range pistols. The secret headquarter exploded while the hero can save himself is like the biggest film clishes, and that's how a James bond film has to end? Not really creative.

That's assuming he's not doing it on purpose...

That's ain't a puny 9mm but cz SA Vz. 58 in 5,56mm
But yes some engineer in the bond universe got "punished" for that.
So, Galen Erso? He's the one that worked on the death star, and created that design flaw.
@@Dumbrarere Yes, when he's not under his alter-ego Hannibal, that is.

that moment when you realize in Skyfall Bond failed the marksmanship test and the other tests on purpose because in this scene he's shooting like he's using aimbot
He had also spent an unspecified time away from MI6 to be an alcoholic in some foreign country, and was clearly in withdrawal during the testing.
I guess the needle treatment he recieved was quite beneficial

Skyfall: James is getting old, he no longer has the same aptitude.
Specter: James is aiming well. The enemies dont. James even drops an helicopter from a distance with a pistol. LOL
A clock explodes: The chair opens, all doors are unlocked, all security fails at all.
A bullet and the entire facility explodes.
Quantum with James personal revenge was much better than this.
Wish that they spend the explosion money on script.

Two records, actually. The biggest and the most anticlimactic explosion in film history.

It still looked awesome!!! Better than the hospital explosion from The Dark Knight which was basically the same exact thing used with the same exact type of explosives & similar detonation sequence 👍

James bond : biggest explosion
Michael bay: weeps in disbelief
This was a massive waste of a Bond villain's lair. The last act of the movie should have taken place here, not back in London. The movie lost so much momentum as a result, and it was just an unnecessary choice.

You are 100% right.
Yeah, I felt this was the weakest, somewhat dumbest scene in this movie.
So, Bond gets these things done to him that's supposed to damage his brain, right? But then it simply... doesn't. No explanation given, it simply... didn't work for "whatever" reason.
Then he goes out and kills all the goons like they don't even pose a marginal risk. I mean, he barely goes for cover and shoots them with aimbot. I know James Bond has had shoot outs while being outnumbered and won, but at least they made it look like he might so much as risk injury.
Then the whole base explodes.
Why?
Who the fuck even knows!?
He shot a gas canister pressurized pipe thingummy and... that's supposed to make the whole thing explode? Like... what?
They obviously blew the base up themselves after the location was compromised
He shot a gas line I'm pretty sure. Do you really expect James Bond films to be 100% based in reality? It's a movie, not a documentary.
Spoiler alert: Everything happening after the brain surgery is not real and is happening in Bond's head. That's why everything ends so easily and fast.
The brain surgery things had improved his abilities lmao

Imagine being paid millions to write this as your epic Bond escape scene.
We need some security guards... but we can't afford to train them to use a gun or use cover.
I mean - i can see a reason why. You can't trust bad guys - even among the bad guys there is no honor. So never hire someone who can aim better than you - or if you have to hire legions of henchmen you should go for people who cant shoot you in the back ever.
The biggest splosion and it served no point in the plot. Nicely done!

"Stop holding my hand." -Rey, episode 9
Seriously, he is shooting long distances with 1 hand only because he has to hold her hand. What?? Also she keeps standing like right next to him while the henchmen shoot at him. So either the bad guy shots are so far off, they are missing two people. Or it's Hollywood magic.

The explosion looked so CGI every time I watched this... Was the explosion real but the building CGI?
Michael Bay, whose legendary appetite for destruction has introduced the term ‘Bayhem’ to the blockbuster lexicon, argues that his recreation of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor makes Spectre’s big bang look like a summer barbecue. ‘There was dynamite everywhere,’ he recalls. ‘Stuff was rigged on so many ships. Real boats, 20 real planes. We had 350 events going off.” John Frazier, who rigged it all up, agrees. ‘We blew up 17 ships over two days, each with 3,600 litres of fuel - 61,800 litres in all - plus 6,800 feet of primer cord - equivalent to about 680 sticks of dynamite. It was over the top.’

“World Record Explosion”
Hiroshima: “Am I a joke to you?”
After watching this scene, Michael Bay is preparing an explosion scene that would be way bigger than this for his new movie 😂
There is a fan theory in a youtube channel which predicts this entire event from here to climax is just bond's imagination while going thru the procedure in the chair. It kind of made sense. The stunts up untill this sequence was very impactful and believable to some extent!
whats the channel called
Filmento I believe.
For me this scene was the full stop on a lazy, basic, diluted version of what used to be something great... the Bond villain cliche, the effortless murder of professional henchmen, all the while they cannot make rookie shots, and of course, some random gigantic explosion enough to send you flying, leaves an unfazed James and bimbo counting the seconds before they meander off to somewhere else. Le sigh.
James and bimbo hahahhaha.
I just watched this movie and had to come look up this scene because the explosion was impressive. I also was watching this whole scene like it was straight out of a 1960s Batman episode. Easily escapable torture device, the villain has no security with him in the room, the guards have worse aim than Storm Troopers, and so on. Pathetic.
A new difficulty level added for senior citizens intending to game: Extra Easy, or something of the like, you know...
Pretty sure the USA still holds the record for biggest explosion

@@TedShatner10 if it got blown up, shouldn't the cuffs just freeze coz they can't be controlled anymore which would trap Bond anyway?

Beirut explosion : hold my shawarma
Bond is the human version of when you turn the aimbot on.
They forgot the part where the shock waves from the massive series of explosions knock Bond and the doc on their butts and tip the helo on its side.
Not really, since this explosion was entirely practical
Shockwaves come from explosives not gas, this was a real genuine explosion with mainly gas so no shockwave from that distance.
@@JCJW101 So you're telling me there's no shock wave when one ignites a fuel-air mixture? Seems to me there are dozens of pieces of video evidence to the contrary (2007 Nevada rocket fuel plant explosion, for example).

This scene felt weak, even as a Bond fan and mildly in love with those blue eyes myself the completely lack of so much as weaving stance after the needle drills and the way the guards fell one after the other. It was more like a cut scene from a video game than a Bond film. One thing that stood out for me and one of the reasons I like Craig Bond is He Bleeds, we see his vulnerability and we see him push through it and kick ass anyway. not here though.

I lost my watch at a Party once.
An Hour later I saw some guy stepping on it while he was harrassing some Woman at that Party.
Infuriated, I immediately went over, punched him and broke his Nose.

Then the man turned to you in anger, drew a Shard of Dragon Glass from his Armour, and thrusted it deep into your Timepiece.
'And now...' he says building a funeral pyre '...your watch has ended'.
I usually don’t like “it was all a dream” theories, but it’s the only way this scene would ever make sense
Daniel Craig is my favourite bond❤️
The problem with the explosion is the lack of a shockwave and poor sound design that doesn't have any boom-y impact and shock. It sounds muffled and slow, the opposite of what a massive explosion should be.
Dont hire guard that cant aim well bruh
Dude got drill into his head, was near exposure to a grenade, escaped and aimed bot all the henchmens, finished with an massive explosion
Talk about plot amor
Bond, when you escape, make sure you are on "Agent" setting and not "00" setting. You will not have enough bullets to kill the bad guys otherwise.
Skyfall: Bond is shown to have difficulty aiming at close range to the point he isn't cleared for service
Spectre: Bond can now use an assault rifle with sniper accuracy after almost being lobotomized
The henchmen's Union rep should demand desert camo uniforms when they renew their contract.
unfortunate, the building is CG, but it makes the real life explosions look fake.
