Miss you fabulous Eydie. Your work with your man Steve was so moving; the harmonies, the power, the heart, the incredible range and your wonderful musicianship. RIP and continue singing for the angels.
I guess I had recorded it off the TV and still had the tape. There were other videos of them on UA-cam but not this one so glad I was able to post it for people to enjoy. They were both great singers but together it was something very special.
Thanks for posting this. Love Steve and Eydie and they loved performing Irving Berlin medley. It's so rare to see them performing. So many videos are in private collections and I have seen all you tube ones. This a treasure!!!!
Thank you for that, Ellen, I agree they were so good together, and the Berlin songs are the greatest. I had thrown most of my VHS tapes out of old TV recording but kept a few and I found a device that lets you transfer them from a VCR to a computer, so after checking if this particular clip was on UA-cam I couldn't find it so thought I'd share it. There is one they did of his 90th birthday though.
@@ellengutknecht4994 Yes, hard to find as it doesn't say 90th on the introduction but does in the video , it is at ua-cam.com/video/FBmFN3qJ9CE/v-deo.html
For sure, Kathy, I was thinking the same thing watching the various firewoks/music shows. The music (if you can call it music) sounded all the same and was terrible, same with thye "singers" The audience seemed to be really enjoying it, but only because they don't know any better :)
@@robertjohnevansSr You know, funny you should say that about the fireworks show. That is EXACTLY what I happened to be thinking about when I wrote this. That show was horrible. I actually turned it off midway and didn't watch the fireworks anymore. Besides, they hardly showed the fireworks.
Beautiful matched set. Rest in love together beautiful singing lovebirds. ❤❤❤

Rest easy Handsome Steve Lawrence! Your fan since the mid 1960's.

So glad you saved this fantasic tape! My favorite performance by them!
Thanks again!❤
Mr. Berlin, I hope you've watched this tribute. They do your songs so, so well. You're still the King of Melody.
Beyond great!!!!
Gob bless this great man. Thank you so much for sharing this classic moment with us.🇺🇸

Matuse (sp)! Memories!
Ever notice that Steve Lawrence looked like Christopher Walken as he got older...😂
When music was music and singers were singers and not screechers.
