They both had a great sense of humor. What natural chemistry. Rest in Peace Steve.
Steve Lawrence had, in my view, one of the best singing voices in show business!
Agree! And one of the most pleasant on-screen personalities.
@@rmelin13231 Wasn't he great on Carol Burnett?
Eydie too on all counts.
Amen
While dozens of males sit and chew their nails....
RIP Steve. One of the great crooners of all time. He and Eydie were wonderful together.
I AM TOO, TOO SAD>>>>
YES: I MISS THEM SO MUCH>>>. MAY THE LORD BLESS THEM AND KEEP THEM
RIP Steve Lawrence. He and Eydie are back together again.
Amen
sweet
I WANT SEASON TICKETS FOR ETERNITY!!! 🥰
Based on scripture they would have to believe Jesus Christ is Lord and savior Henry Prince of their sins in order to get to heaven
@jeffreyzeiss1326 except that it isn't true.
Steve and Eydie, the best of the best. We adore you !!
End of an era... RIP Steve😢
Thanks for posting this. It brought light to an otherwise sad day. Hilarious! May Steve’s memory be a blessing always.
My oh my, so many greats are up there, including my
beloved husband. Now Steve is with his beloved & their son who passed so many years ago.
May they all RIP.
Sweet dreams until we meet again.

I had the pleasure of talking with Steve on radio several times. He was as nice as he was talented. Great guy
And the interviews you did were excellent. Thanks for posting them!
I have heard several comments how nice he was which showed. That is so important along with how talented he was. Great there are so many videos forever.
Together in their life and death. Rest in Peace, thanks for great memories.
They had beautiful voices. What a pair!
What a blast a very fun show. Steve and Eydie Gorme what a great couple. And of course Johnny Carson the greatest of all talk show hosts ever.!
They both had such an infectious laugh! RIP together.
He was wonderful. He was great alone and with Eydie it was a dream duo. RIP
I remember taking my mom to see Steve and Eydie later in their career. They were great. We went around back to where the stars walked out to yhe car. Steve went right up to my Mom then went to the president of their fan club of 50 years. He knew her name and he really knew her. She was from Brooklyn. He was a class act. Eydie was in bad pain so she didn't mingle...bad back. Great show though.
This is a clip back to when entertainment WAS entertainment. Thank you Steve!
They were absolutely the Best.
Eydie was a doll……a powerful voice.
Such a talented man with a beautiful soothing voice! Rest in peace.
So thankful we have these clips to relive the past. Thanks for sharing this.
Nobody can be so impromptu like Johnny! One of a kind!
I was too cool to enjoy this in 1976. What I missed.
Actually it was 1979.
They were so great!!! RIP!
I still listen to Eydie's Bossa Nova. Great record.
Me too! Love it!
RIP Steve Lawrence. You and Edie were incomparable! The spontaneity of this interview at the end, the joy in each other’s humor and that beautiful flair legged suit! A great talent and a class act.
Great memories. Feeling nostalgic. That generation was timeless. Thanks for posting these.
Nothing or nobody on TV like that anymore !
grew up with Steve and Eydie....always sweet and fun. Bless their souls.
I saw Steve and Eydie in concert when they opened for Mr. Sinatra during his Golden Jubilee series in 1991 at the Rosemont Horizon. They were simply terrific, ageless, and always delivered on Mr. Carson's show. May Mr. Lawrence rest in peace. Thank-you for sharing.
He was so talented. Miss you Steve…Edyie too!
Eydie
I heard for the past 20 years he'd play golf in Vegas where he'd live and sing as he played. I'd love to have been there. I saw he and Eydie probably 20 times in concert, often in Vegas. They were just wonderful. So sad he's gone, but he left so much great music.
Wow! Best Hallelujah rendition I’ve ever seen! The pan out of the crowd with Steve and Eddie was fantastic! Great couple, will be missed.
RIP Steve Lawrence you and Eydie have reunited in heaven and are singing together
I always enjoyed hearing them sing and entertain! A special couple.
They were a pair MATCHED IN HEAVEN!
Yeah baby!! Good times. Bless you Steve. Go see your gal. ❤
They were adorable.
Excellent musicians and what a lovely couple! Simply amazing!❤❤
I miss this era so much. Those of us who grew up in the years Johnny was on are very fortunate. Nothing today comes remotely close.
We lived in the Best of times!
oh yeah man. when you had to be able to actually SING to go anywhere. one of the last of the crooners from the golden area of entertainers really. thanks again as always.
We were blessed to grow up watching them on tv. Great music and great entertainers. They are in heaven together 😇
Watching Steve and Eydie together brought tears to my eyes. Such genuine people, as was their their love. Lots of fun!
RIP Mr. Lawrence
They are all now in heaven. God Bless Them. The invention of video tape is incredible. The quality is so life like. Thank you very much for posting this video. It's a celebration of all their lives. We will never see this kind of talent ever again.
Yes, it is.
Wow! It is amazing how they synchronize and compliment each other.
This is the reason they play beer pong in today's talk shows. There isn't anyone like this anymore.
Now we get the witches in the View
@@anairenemartinez165 I believe everything changed with the Jerry Springer show. It was that show that brought vulgar behavior to our homes, and eventually made it acceptable. Since television copy one another, other like shows appeared. After so many decades we have become numb to that crass, tasteless conduct that essentially anything goes.
They were both great performers that made for a fun show. I loved these 90 minute episodes since they had time for 2 songs plus some good conversation.
What talent. They don';t make them like Steve and Eydie anymore...
The good old days, good old laughs, class performers. RIP Mr Lawrence
Truly great singing team ! Steve was one of the greatest entertainers of all time !
The couple that sings together swings (and stays) together. What a fun time they brought.
Great angle / shot of studio audience looking out from the stage
OH NO I didn't know he passed on! he and Eydie were pure showbiz and a huge part of TV in the 60's and 70's.
They have added so much music to my life. They were one of a kind...I will miss them😢😢
Missing Johnny !!!🎉😂❤😢
Marvelous singing voice, good actor, great sense of humor -- RIP, Steve Lawrence.
RIP Steve. It's one of the best of Johnny Carson's shows with one of the best legends Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme it was fun to watch them together having a ball entertaining the audience.
RIP Steve! Now you both are back together❤
I'm glad the Carol Burnett show had him on so many times. He was so funny. I laughed every time he said "sure, sure!' May he R.I.P.
RIP Steve Lawrence ....Godspeed
Eydie... one of the all-time greatest voices, IMO.
I saw Steve & Eydie in Vegas. Richard Pryor was their warm up act. After the show, I walked over to see the Lounge Act at Castaways. Richard Pryor was across the street with his girlfriend. I yelled hello to him & he waved back. Steve & Eydie were at their best. Great night. Love you forever Steve.
Thanks for the wonderful memories. They were part of my childhood and many years after. I so miss thises days.
Wow! Absolutely loved this. Thank you so much for posting. That Hallelujah song has always been a favorite of mine.
Oh my goodness, what voices! How I loved Steve and Eydie! Saw them perform in person and they were fabulous. God bless Steve. So sorry to hear of his passing. Those two could brighten up any room.
some trivia...Steve and Eydie were cast members on the Tonight Show in 1954, when Steve Allen created the format of the show...Steve ''discovered" Steve and Eydie and featured them on his show for 3 years until NBC moved Steve Allen to prime time and Jack Paar took over the Tonight Show until 1962, when Johnny became the host
Steve has said many times that when he first saw her on that very first show ,he liked her very much. Then, when he first heard her 🎉singing, he immediately fell in love with her!❤
All back together again 🕊💐🕊
RIP Steve,,,loved you and Eydie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful. What a performance!
Man... Steve & Eydie.. They Were Absolutely Great.. I Tell Ya Those Were The Days ☺☺💯💖 R.I.P. Steve, Eydie Johnny and Ed 💖💖
..Steve is a Nutt He Took The Cue From Eydie and Went and Jumped in Ed's Lap.. Lol... I Can't 😂😂
Popular culture was all class back then.
Feel so blessed to have lived to see these performers & johnny!!
When I was a kid in the Sixties-Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gormé were a thing. Eydie Gormé passed away in 2013; Steve Lawrence passed away March 7th, 2024. RIP! What was so impressive about them was their living a real love story, two people in love with each other. In a place as cynical as Hollywood/Las Vegas, a true wonder.
March 7, 2024
@@ellengutknecht4994 You're right: March 7, 2024! I will correct it!
Only last month!
Rest In Peace, Steve. Steve Lawrence is back in my younger years but he and Edie were FANTASTIC!!!! He will be greatly missed! And THANK YOU for putting this video on UA-cam!!!!
What a terrific song. They were an incredibly talented couple. I enjoyed their music immensely. 😊
Their son passed away before both of them. Now all three are reunited.
RIP Mr. Lawrence he and Eydie were great together❤
Always loved Steve Lawrence's voice. RIP, steve.
Amazing voices!! RIP Steve, Edyie, Johnny and Ed.
The ONLY one left is doc...
Tough to know EVERYONE reaches the FINAL DESTINATION...
Rest in peace, Steve and Eydie.😢❤
I met Steve Lawrence at the crap tables at the Sands in 1968. My wife was a music major and something of a fan Eydie’s stylings. When I told him that he was genuinely impressed that we would come up from LA just to see them. He graciously arranged for my wife to get a chance to meet Eydie. It was a highlight for us and I got the impression they were thrilled to accommodate us. Truly nice folks
They both were alcoholics and were along with Sammy Davis into the occult. Edyie was a drunk
Better than anything on TV today, which is all mind rotting smut!
Thanks for the REMINDER of How good they were !!!
class act
I never got to see Steve & Eydie in person , but I loved watching them on TV shows like Carson for many years. Now they're both gone. They were great singers and entertainers. And it was clear they were good together ❤️. R.I.P. Steve Lawrence.
Edie Gorme put out a solo album called "Amor", with a backing group called the Trio Los Panchos. My late father used to play it nonstop and it would soar throughout our house. I still love that album, she had an amazing voice.
Her best song ever was Dont Go To Strangers.
💐💐🙏🏻🙏🏻RIP Steve Lawrence (born Sidney Liebowitz) (July 8, 1935 - March 7, 2024) (aged 88) and Eydie Gormé (born Edith Gormezano) (August 16, 1928 - August 10, 2013) (aged 84) you will truly both be missed and my prayers go out to you both and family. 💐💐🙏🏻🙏🏻
Oh...
Eydie was a little older than Steve, ah. Great couple
Absolutely BEYOND COMPARE!! What a great show, great host and especially great guests like STEVE END EYDIE!!!
Wow, those were the days of great late night entertainment. Such talent all around. Loved it.
Another singer who was vastly underrated along with Jack Jones.rip Steve
I first heard, their song, 'Hallelujah' during this broadcast back in 1976. Loved their performance of it ever since. Also, got to hear it live from concerts they did that I attended.
I remember Steve Lawrence on the Carol Burnett Show the most.
He was on Carol's show 39 times.
A very delightful clip - thank you!
Both Steve and Edie were wonderful. They will be missed forever by all who knew them, loved them and enjoyed their performances. They were simply a delightful couple.
Bless their Souls. Miss you guys
Talented couple, their songs will live on for ever.
Such a Great Couple.
Steve Lawrence and his wife sounded pretty good even on this Smartphone and they definitely got the audience to sing along!! A very good trait!!!
RIP Steve Lawrence
Rest in peace Steve and Eddie, you were both a class act!
Eydie
Eydie gorme singing don’t go to strangers !! If that doesn’t bring back a long ago love affair to you nothing can. You can’t get it any better than that!!!
