Lyrics of the song "Candyland":
We should watch the clock
‘cause we’re hopping on the train
I’ve got the tickets in my bag
Watch the clock
We can’t miss out now, they’re gonna get us anyway
Come on hold on just a little
We will arrive by tonight everything will be alright
Now it’s time
Pack your clothes and take the games, the ones you really gonna need
In Candyland, Candyland
Castles made of sand
Make amends, Make amends
We’ll be the first ones to see the rooms from within
In Candyland, Candyland
Castles made of sand
Through the lens, Through the lens
It looks like we’d be free from evil and sin
We still watch the clock
But now that we’ve arrived, it doesn’t matter anyways
Stop the clock
Cause it belongs to them, like all the things they took away
Come on hold on just a little
We’ve had our lives ’til tonight nothings gonna be alright
Now it’s time
Say your prayers don’t be shy to ask the lord to make you fly
I feel like enjoying the moment by ourselves like it was our last
bye girl
I’ll say your name when we’re gone, tell the stories from our past
I feel like enjoying the moment by ourselves like it was our last
bye girl
I’ll say your name when we’re slaves, we belong to the outcast
In Candyland, Candyland
Castles made of sand
Make amends, Make amends
We’ll be the first ones to see the rooms from within
In Candyland, Candyland
Castles made of sand
Through the lens, Through the lens
It looks like we’d be free from evil and sin

I don't know why I was hesitant about this one when I loved the last 2 songs, I like this one a lot as well. Guess because I loved the heavy stuff so much I wasn't expecting to like these songs as much as I do.
Glad a group so talented/skilled didn't let something so silly limit them but also not just doing things in a more difficult manner for the sake of complexity, less king crimson more gentle giant in that manner. Unfortunately for them a lot of people will never listen to a band after hearing them make a drastic change cause they *only listen to X* so changing to much could be detrimental to them, as it was for bands like cynic in developing a fan base, definitely worth it tho.
You guys are taking out the easy & generic things from pop and making it more complex & lively. I am loving it. Waiting for the new album release. Love from India.
exactly how I felt. I liked their old stuff, but this is just as good
Will this be the heaviest Unprocessed has ever been?
Nah, I think we're gonna get a cleaner, more compressed Manuel solo stuff sound. Like what we've heard with Real and Deadrose is my guess. Seems to be the direction they're going, though I doubt it'll be void of heavy elements. I think it'll be more on the melodic side of things, which (as a metal head) I actually prefer the cleaner sound and vocals from these guys. Even though Manu has killer vocal range with his screams/roars and the band is obviously well versed in prog metal/fusion. I just think we're gonna be on the jazzier side of djent rather than the metal side. AND I AM SOOOO READY!
Heard it on spotify, its not heavy but has a glitchy kind of vibe to it which sounds really cool to be honest. Great song
More like the least heavy if you listened to it on Spotify already
well heavy or not its awesome
That's a joke right?
I really love how they're experimenting with pop. To me, it's like what pop music would sound if it actually had an emphasis on instrumental talent and not just vocals.
yeah. the slyde does that for me, too. way different band, though: ua-cam.com/video/_AaBYNVXyo8/v-deo.html
You mean stringed instruments and natural drums? There are plenty of pop artists that are absolutely insane instrumental musicians, there's probably even more than in the metal community just due to the shear volume of people making pop music worldwide nowadays. Check out Jesús Molina, as just one example.
Dude yes I feel the same way. I could listen to music like this all day but sadly theres nothing quite like this song. Then again it makes it so special to me
Yes, or just obnoxious booming bass from every one driving around, listening to top 40 and the likes 😄
Well and hip-hop and stuff. I dunno' 😕
Exactly.
I really needed this sound to heal my soul
Checkmate pop
I wish people would just take music for what it is. This song is fantastic guys. ❤️
Love the new style so much
Good stuff lads
Solo💕🔥🔥💯💥
Nahhhhhhhh unprocessed going processed?? You break my heart
It's still bloody amazing musicianship just miss the djent days.
Banger
This song fking BOPPPSSSS can’t stop listening to it, pop hasn’t done that to me in awhile
Killer video to go with a killer track! Forcing everyone I know to listen. It can only improve their lives.
Beautiful piece of art!
At first I all agreed with comments about how poppy it went and how it was uninteresting. But 1 month later I changed all my mind and now it's such an amazing experience for the fans.
y'all need to keep this style up, it's so fucking cool. love this so much
Took me a few repeats but I really like it ;)
Eu já curtia o som deles antes, agora ainda mais com essas misturas com o pop. Ficou tudo mto bom!!
Super job. Unique and identifyable sound as always
Super ❤️💖💖😘
I don't really know their older songs, just listened a few of them.. and I like these new songs way more😍 (even though i'm a metalhead and i like heavy stuff)
Great musicians!
Damn. You guys might have actually found a way to get technical music on the radio
Perfect
Pretty catchy! Unprocessed making prog-pop over here
unprocessed changed lot AND IS AWESOME this is great i like this unprocessed more than the heavy one
Damn bro, lovin' that bass groove
I dont like the RnB parts but if you use your instruments you are incredible! Stay tuned! My favorite is still the whole Covenant Album, waiting to see more of this :-). Saw you at the last pre-corona Summer Breeze 2019 and still enjoying...
I love this❤️
Chill metal 🔥❤!
Crap has a new sound, and here it is!
gooooood🔥🔥🔥
This is pretty good but missing the gain on the guitars and djent elements, not gonna lie.
Every band matures and evolves their sound in the end. Will they keep their old fans though, hard to say.
I dont like the pop style at all, but after hearing the solo at the end of the song i am totally satisfied bruh. That shit is beautiful. Edit- changed my mind bruh after hearing Rain coming back to this im hype asf for more new music from them
🤘
Please release an instrumental version for people who are not into this brutal extreme vocals
Brutal?
love the sound, guys! But why Candyland, castles made of sand? Sand isn't 🍭
Okay just pretend it's not unprocessed and it's a banger 😂
przegadane
I love it. Doesn’t matter to me that it’s not heavy I like both and for what it is this song is well made so more pls!👌
Sounds like jonas brothers
No, actually the jonas brothers can't even play guitar. Look it up
Really diving head first into this genre, maybe call it smooth djent? dJazz?
100k of these views are solely mine
Amazing song but god damn I miss the metal.
Decent
I told my friends somebody was gonna figure out how to do polyphia’s pop math thing but with vocals and they were gonna be huge once, guess today’s that day.
Cool to see rock finally entering the 21st century and embracing technology
Nothing about this is rock.
@@coreywhite4073 and people like this who refuse to understand rock must adapt are the exact reasons it died, modern hip hop sounds literally nothing like old hip hop, why must rock continue to sound the same?
dude, it's not about being close-minded or a boomer. This just isn't rock.
@@coreywhite4073 you been under a rock the last 10 years? Lemme explain to ya, they’re pulling from multiple different Genres and meshing it together with a twist of their own. CLEAR underlying tones of rock, and yes very very clear tones of pop. But I think if you believe in music, that you believe in different genres and artists then it is however you perceive it. To me, they’re a rock band who have turned to meshing more genres well in with their music. They’ve worked hard, refined and ironed out their style to a T, so much so you should be able to hear each and every different genre or different tone they tap into. But to the point “this ain’t rock” it very much is, you’re just too closed minded to accept it.
why do people keep talking about math when they mention polyphia? Polyphia has nothing to do with math rock and the same could be said about Unprocessed
Song is literally called candyland and everyones suprised at the sound lol
Exactly, are these guys expecting Hell sounding music when the song called Candyland?
Some of the more heavier songs I know are called "Lucy", "Ben Has A Kid" and "Petting Zoo Justice". The name itself isn't always the best indicator of heaviness... Besides, after Real and Deadrose I think people still expected less of a full on pop sound and more guitar focused cleverness, being that the licks in Real and Deadrose are all extremely driving and the main thing I can hear in Candyland are the excessively processed drums.
I don't want to say that this song is bad by the way. If you like it, that's fair and I won't stop you, since even if it's very much a pop song and I don't vibe with it that much, it's still pretty catchy and I'd definitely prefer this to be the new pop instead of a lot of what is considered pop. But I can definitely understand why people don't like it and are surprised by the sound
@@TerraNovatius i mean with petting zoo its dgd cant expect anything from anything they put out hahaha songs not my cup of tea but sucks to see people hatin so much
@@TerraNovatius VoM, TDWP and DGD?
@@TerraNovatius what do u think about the solo at the end of the song
It's pop but with actually talented musicians.
You don't have to be a shredder to be talented.
@@goodnightosaka I never said you have to be a shredder. I said it's pop with talented musicians.
@@zamatallica7 Yeah but even though Pop is simple, it still takes a lot of skill to write catchy choruses and to produce and mix and master the music the way they do. It's just a different art, it doesn't take less or more effort than any other genre. Just a different skillset. People who make Pop face the challenge of making music that will appeal to the widest audience possible, and that takes skill to do. Obviously the members of Unprocessed are very skilled at what they do, but again, it's just a different skill. Not above any other one. Just my take though.
I dare to say it's a waste of talent. Sorry guys.
It's guitar music that lwts you vibe with your normie friends
To me these guys pretty much fixed pop. They used the same vibe with much more interesting musical ideas and technicality plus less reliance on vocals while still being very catchy. It’s also much more authentic and inspiring to me as a musician since it’s a full band of great musicians. My personal problem with pop is that most popular radio artists seem like just performers, not artists and that’s not here at all. Also I love how even though manuel sings he’s still a guitarist primarily. Don’t let being used to not liking pop stop you from liking this.
This 100%
Even though your points are legit, anything with this sleek "sugarcoated Plini so we dont scare the hoes" aesthetic gets an automatic shutdown on my end. This is just too corny to look at, shame since their talent and ability is apparent.
@@Henry14arsenal2007 yeah I could see how it can seem corny but it mostly doesn’t to me and definitely doesn’t sound anything like plini. Too bad you can’t like it I guess
Another victim of the music industry, or thats what it seems to me. If it was their creative decision I can respect though but it sounds processed af which is really ironic
I agree. I think this song is great for a pop song. It's just not for me. Maybe it'll grow on me eventually who knows
It's cool how these new musicians mix the typical instrument sounds with modern-sounding electronic stuff so uniquely. Unprocessed and Polyphia are pioneers of this new amalgamation of creative guitar approach and music in general. People bash them now for changing their music from metal, but, 20 years from now, they'll be considered legends.
This kind of reminds me of when Polyphia went to experiment and find their sound. Got some backlash for not sticking to the metal roots, but in the end it became something more expressive and cool. Even though I’m not into pop that much, I admire the effort to play around the genre into something different! Still a bop for me!
Honestly I’ve been expecting more from polyphia’s sound, especially embracing more of the hip hop elements. Reinventing the rock/hip-hop sound. That was the route I really wanted to see them go. and I think they were on the right track. I guess they got some slack for their beat producing. Also their new music could maybe be more dynamic. I‘ve also been anticipating Tim doing some colabs with some rappers. I think Polyphia actually has the potential create ripples within the hip/hop community. But that’s just all my opinion.
But I’m rather new to Unprocessed, I love this song though. This is dope. Sad I haven’t heard this one sooner.
@@SuperiorRobyn the new album seems promising, supposedly theyre collabing with trippie redd
@@spo-senpai4560 Yeah Neurotica was pretty dope we’ll see how this goes
Y'all need to stop speculating, and just enjoy the music. It's tasteful as fuck
agree
Ikr
This shid is soooo fucking juicy.
damn they went all-out pop. Can't hate them for it but it isn't for me. Deadrose is a vibe though...I was expecting that their new music direction would be like that song, dark sounding and still had metal elements to it. I'll still try to keep an open mind.
I think this song is good for a pop song tho...it's cool how they mix technicality with simple pop progressions. It's just not for me personally. Maybe it will grow on me eventually who knows
it grows on you!
Hmm I agree it’s too poppy this one I felt the same way with Real but it grew on me but I REALLY can’t stand pop music I’m still hopeful the new album will be a banger NGL I wished they released Dinner over this track to follow Deadrose which is amazing still had that Artificial Void feel I really enjoyed in the last LP
It's marketable. And still tasteful. It honestly goes to show how dynamic they are and the ridiculous range in Manuel's vocals. But it's a smart play on record sales. And unlike many metal bands that sell out, these guys still manage to make excellent music that conforms more to the mainstream.
@@l.gaines5436 I guess so. I mean Real grew on me because of the amazing guitars in the chorus and Tim Henson's (and David's) cool part. I hated its lyrics tho haha
@@flannel_punk i hear you !!!, i was feeling some kinda way until i saw the video, with the visuals it works for me - i understand what candyland is now, and the feeling that goes along with being there, i don't think the heavy unprocessed sound would be able to express that. it's nice when a band can make you feel an array of different emotions.
that solo at the end was soooo tasteful omg
I guess this is more “pop like” but out of all the pop music out there this isn’t anywhere close to me hell if this is pop I guess imma start liking pop . And I listen to djent, post hardcore, rap, r&b. You metal heads gotta open ya mind more lmao. I get it if isn’t your type of music but y’all acting like they just disrespected the gods of metal lmao
Facts this shit bops I could listen to it all day brings my mood up
Ok pop and genericism argument aside, what was the weird stall in time at 1:12. It was clearly a creative decision since they kept it in and timed everything around it but I'm just confused as to why?
just a creative twist that went hand in hand with the lyric i guess :)
Incredible, guys. Honestly, this new direction is so unique and enjoyable... Chill vibes, but complex, impressive craftsmanship.
And enough on the pop spectrum to get mainstream attention which they more than deserve.
@@marshallgoode so, the definition of selling out.
@@hkleider they've been composing in this direction for a while now. "Real" featuring Tim Henson and Clay Gober of Polyphia and "Deadrose" have a cleaner sound. I wouldn't say they're selling out. They're completely self produced with Manuel doing all the production. If you listen to his solo stuff you can hear the cleaner fingerstyle playing. I'm just saying it's more along the pop genre and could get more mainstream play
unique? lmao
@@fftax444 well i really like this band so what other band sounds like it so i can hear it? Or are you just judging for no reason?
the bass on this one is MEATY, love it! Tight job by the whole band! Love the variety in your music, one of the widest ranges I've seen of a band before and it works well every time
As much as I liked the heavier stuff like "Antler's Decay" or "The Movements, Their Echoes" I also like this one. Just gives me chills. Hopefully they'll put the new and old stuff in their setlists!
Love their take on a refreshing sound, it pop yes, but still have very technical instrumentals. Not every “technical sound” bad has to be Polyphia or Animals as Leaders. This is honestly refreshing
I love Unprocessed, Manuel is one of my guitar heroes, but this tune just doesn't do it for me :/ at least they prove they are versatile af so its cool, can't hate on em
It's definitely good and well done but I also felt it lacked that oomf from their earlier works and Deadrose. I was waiting for some type of break drop that never came.
Yeah. This song has a pedo vibe.
Candyland, rollercoasters and children.
Where's Michael Jackson and Spielberg?
Hoping for more Artificial Void type stuff eventually
@@TheNaKio Think this says a lot more about what's going in your brain than it does theirs, considering not a single part of the song is sexual. Pretty shit take.
@@TheNaKio I was just getting gay vibes myself. Tyler Carter esque.
Christ, that solo...
The only thing that annoys me is the fact that I can't give more then one thumbs up. Holy damn, everytime I listen to it I got so stoked, what an awesome song!
Guys I miss the Heavy😭
You are all so big musicians but i like your style from fear and abandoned more.
A couple of listens in and Just because it’s pop sounding doesn’t mean it’s not technical, has layers and has more to it than a first listen. The skill of making these technical elements sound like a pop song is that you think it doesn’t have anything to it.
Conclusion. Sick song, sick half time breaks and lovely outro ❤️
@selenite. I mean I hear this and I think it slaps, you hear this and you think it's bad. Who is to say who is right? Our credentials? How many instruments we play? What kind of music do we like? How lomg we've been following the band? Who is to say....
@selenite. Exactly my point.
Idk why people are not liking this song. I love it! I guess it depends on people's taste in music and what they expect from Unprocessed. Well, it's still good to see that many people are keeping an open mind.
Its a carbon copy of the Tim Henson style. Its just not necessary. Just funny people are saying this is refreshing and so new when its been done. Adding singing doesn't make it ground breaking or good. For most people who listened to this band coming from an album like Covenant to this is a major let down. If this is your style that's totally fine but I'd hope people could understand where their former fans are coming from when they feel a bit dissapointed.
@@SMSRaven54 Polyphia is agressively trap, Unprocessed's sound is closer to late 2000's glitchy EDM. And the only thing Manuel an Tim's playing have in common is the harmonics, Manuel' riffs are rooted in jazz cause of his progressive background, and Tim's riffs come from blues/rock, cause he is a massive Hendrix fan and his his & extreme metal background. He did some djent stuff but it was never prog. If rock/trap fusion and prog/edm/pop fusion sound the same to you, I can't help you bro.
I really dig this song, the vocal melody line is very catchy and I like that they emphasize the guitar parts which more pop groups should do. Well done, hope they stick to this sound.
i swear i cringe at every coment saying blabla pop something something , tf guys it's just music, you all sound really fragile of being taken out of your comfort zone. Also all the people undervaluing pop music , you really don't know shit
Heavy Pop? Honestly don't know what to call it but it doesn't matter what it is whatever you guys touch turns to gold and this is distinctively you.
It’s math pop, same genre that Polyphia invented a couple years ago with GOAT
Listen again. The vocals are the only pop thing here. It honestly reminds me more of that mid 2000s electronic music that never blew up like The Glitch Mob or the later MGMT albums
@@Arcanineisthebest reminds me significantly more of modern 80’s revivalist pop/rnb then that tbh relief with the guitars and bass, the only electronic element is a synth pad that’s buried in the mix most of the time
@@Viper-dz2kw Production-wise, I agree with you. I was more talking about the way they use their guitars. They're very glitchy, layered, they pan around, and the little guitar melody thrown in there feels a lot like the synth melodies in the mid-2000s.
prog pop
I love this new direction of Unprocessed. Before they was amazing, and now they are amazing and unique.
As a musician, I love this. I love heavy music but I also appreciate a good pop/tech song. Its not like they arent shredding or not being technical. Its good to like and be influenced by other genres. Kudos to you guys. This is a great track, hopefully there is a mix between some slow songs and some heavier technical songs.
Djent pop, amazing guitar skills as always, they still have this melodies with the classic sound of the band, spired sound.

What the hell happens on the 1:12 mark? That's one weird-ass rhythmic figure. Me likey 😊
This is what pushing boundaries sounds like. Big respect for not continuing to make heavy stuff aimed purely at djent fans and for growing and developing as artists. You guys are playing an important role in bringing "guitar music" back into the mainstream. Maybe because of your graft we might start seeing more bands returning to the mainstream charts and making real money doing so.
I love Djent and all... It's my home, but DAMN is the scene lousy with shitlibs and libertarian chuds.
How is it pushing boundaries if you make literally pop, lmao.
@@BetterCallThall Who hurt you?
@@wannabeserpento99 when a band known for playing djent changes their sound up to take on pop influences, they have pushed the boundaries of the genre they are known for.
Definitely a good song but I feel it was lacking and seemed to just lull and fizzle out. Can't expect a breakdown on every song though.
I just noticed that Manuel is also on vocals, so not only is he boss of a fucking guitarist but he holds a voice like that too? This man is wayyyyyy too underrated and needs more clout!
For those of you wondering, this was filmed at Tripsdrill amusement park in Germany :)
better than tobu candyland
Yal guys set the bar with abandoned and now everything else is just meh😐
When they did "real" I knew then that they were starting to head in a different direction,I think it's fking awesome!
Not for me just a bit too generic sounding outside of the solo break and outro version of the riff. Even if the pop direction is the new vibe I need the bit of edge that real or dead rose had to make me relisten.
I think we’ll definitely get more of that edge in deadrose and real. I’ve heard Manuel describe their new sound as a darker kind of pop before. Plus there’s been a couple snippets like dinner that have that darker sound and might be released
@@randomname191 yeah, that's what I've heard. I also saw in an Instagram story that there's still screams on the album
This is beautifull... pop djent?
Beware of the pipeline
All credit for trying something new, but this isn’t what I became an unprocessed fan for. I get this will sell better but I’ll just wait until something similar to the last two albums comes around again. To me this just sounds like if Justin Bieber gave prog a go. It ain’t awful, but not what I was after either.
honestly I liked this song, although the styles of the songs take on their own unique look, it might seem weird at first but you start to like it later
Backstreet Boys style.
Ready to buy the album and merch🔥🤘🏼

This is so good. Dug the early stuff but this is that good shit.
I feel like I'm in the minority here, by liking pop as a genre. And I obviously love guitar. Pop + talented guitarist = great song.
I'm having a lot of difficulty figuring out what Manuel's favorite color is. Anyone help???
In dem Freizeitpark war ich auch schon :D
Tripsdrill regelt xD
I really hope you guys maintain some prog-metal in your overall song writing and sound…. I don’t mind some of the more pop influenced tracks, I really liked Real and Deadrose, but I’m getting a little nervous
A lot of people are complaining about this being poppy but honestly I think you guys have taken some of the best elements of a lot of different genres and mixed them together into something really unique and interesting to listen to. Idk if this song does it for my lyrically but I love to see you experimenting and creating new sounds and I can't wait to see more like this from you
Maybe they’ll tour with John Mayer?
didnt expect anything less than an absolute banger being stuck in my head for the next 2 years from u. luv u guys ^^
Its not even poppy beyond the catchy aspect. Mostly a solid JAM, do you here the technical excellence that is the groovy bass line up in there?(; its a solid track. I do understand the seemingly pop color of music style is super influenced to this mix. Solid 1 guys
this music has a such cool vibe although I prefer the sound of AV album, but do what your fellings tells you guys, yre amazing

I sadly don't like it. Artificial Void was just perfect, with real they already went in the wrong direction for me, and it just keeps getting worse :( So dissappointed, as they seemed to be a new favorite for me back then..
