This is the most responsive car I've ever driven. As soon as you touch that gas pedal it explodes, there's literally no delay...this is a pure driver's car just like the Honda S2000 and a few other timeless gems.

Please for the love of god push the door closed touching the body of the car NOT THE WINDOW!! Anyone else own a 86/frs/scion and have this OCD with their car haha.

Yes, damn people. Also People just love kicking the inside of my door when exiting and entering my FR-S. Though I bought some like magic scuff begone type shit. So I look past this now.
People who complain it’s slow don’t know how to drive something that’s not turbo or a v8 with gobs of torque. It’s light, if you keep it on boil. Above 4500rpm it’s anything but slow. Yeah if you drive it like a v8 you’re gonna be disappointed.
The 2016 FRS is my first car, absolutely love it. I’ve had a few moments where I wished my car was bigger when I needed to move large cargo and or had 3 friends I needed to take somewhere but it’s an amazing car. Always smile while driving it
I have a '14. For everyday driving, 200 hp is completely adequate. I recently drove from Cincinnati to Great Lakes and back. No hurry. Set the cruise control on just 60, turned on the radio and air and enjoyed driving my "go kart" (yes!! It does drive like a go kart. Damned amazing!). But here's the good part: 40.6 mpg, and that's actual miles vs gallons. You have to drive these cars. To keep one as a garage queen is to miss out on a super driving experience.
@@G.Uppercut123 Lol I was going to say this. After owning this car for nearly a year I completely agree. Puts a smile on my face every single time. good choice I have this exact car and every time I drive it I know I made the right decision think long term as a platform u can build on this car is super fun to drive
A lot of incorrect information here. Current gen Starlink systems (2018 BRZ included) have standard Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Putting the car in Track Mode doesn't defeat traction control fully. You have to come to a complete stop and hold down the TCS OFF button for several seconds. 0-60 for manual trans is 6.1 seconds, not 7.4. Performance package adds Brembo brakes, Sachs performance dampers, and the wider wheels needed to clear the Brembo calipers. The spoiler is standard on all trims.
CJRhoades All correct but I want to clarify to turn TCS and ESC fully off, you actually have to do a pedal dance. Though you may still be right because you only mentioned TCS, and I think using the TCS off button completely turns off TCS but leaves a little bit of ESC on.
Very good post, all correct information here for the 2018 BRZ. I own the vehicle. To the post above mine, I'm pretty sure by holding down the TCS button for like 3s it turns everything off. What pedal dance do you know of? I'll try it
I Rented this car for 2- Weeks I love how it looks, and drives it actually felt very fast because you are so low to the Ground, but you find out how slow it is when u get beat by A HHR on a dead stop 🛑 to the next stop 🛑 as for the daily use, well its horrible for carrying food or your drinks. But overall I actually really like the way it drove. So if I do buy this car, I would add the supercharged kit, remove the real seat and add a custom JL Audio subwoofer 🔊
I actually bought a 2017 STI and am not getting a BRZ if that tells you anything. STI was great for what it was, but just feels numb overall after driving it for a couple of years.
The 0-60 you did took you through 3rd? I own the 2017 and have hit 70+ in 3rd.... you have to take it up to 7500rpm through 1st and 2nd to really push the torque
Well you always have to keep in mind this cars price point. You have to accept that there will be cheaper materials for cost savings. Also the brz/frs/86 actually have the most rear seat space out of any rear wheel drive coupe I have ever been in. The key to sitting in the back seats is you have to man spread, and then both the front passenger and the back passenger are moderately comfortable. So pretty much they’re sitting in your lap. But it has decent head room, more than a 2017 camaro for sure.
Actually the zero to 60 is 6 seconds on a launch. It's a NA motor with all it's power up in the high rev range so you have to clutch dump at around 4500 rpm to get a solid quick run.
the BRZ (Premium) is very relevant to me right now as it is tied for #1 on my next list with a Golf Sport Wagon/Alltrack 6spd...yes, I'm crosshopping this with a wagon because each car is catering to different aspects of what I like...coming out of a 14yo Mk4 GTI, I am partial to VW because I've had good success and feel comfortable with the brand, plus I like wagons/longroofs...but the BRZ was a fantastic car to drive and it made want to drive it and take the long, winding road home...sure, the BRZ can't hold as much as a wagon or has easily accessible back seats, but the wagons can't drive like the BRZ...so as a daily driver I need to figure out what my priorities are and keep each selection at or below $30k in the 2nd gen 86/BRZ (if there is one), I want to see a 2.2L (FA22) engine in it to help give a bump in the torque dept; much like the AP2 S2000. The car is NOT going to be an "investment". It will be a depreciating asset, just maybe not as fast if it doesn't get a 2nd gen.
I own a Nissan 240 and it's for that reason I owned many of them. It's a shame Nissan didn't build any other cars like the BRZ. Question I'm 6'3" how comfortable is it for tall people and I got wide shoulders. 370z vs BRZ?
Randall Lawkin I have a brz and I’m 6 foot. You can lower the seat and should fit in it. Getting in and out might be difficult cause your tall but not bad
Yes the interior of the BRZ is better my sister has one and I have the 86 and I envy her interior... The 86 has upgraded suspension dough and a smaller steering wheel which makes it more nimble
