One of the best-known voices in rock, Scott Stapp articulates the process of transcending defeat by undergoing transformative growth on “Black Butterfly.” It is the 3rd track revealed from his upcoming album, HIGHER POWER, which will be released on March 15, 2024 with Napalm Records. The grooving stunner flexes undeniable swagger and hauntingly beautiful vocals to embrace personal metamorphosis. As Stapp explains, “Growth is a challenging process. I often write aspirational lyrics about getting to that ‘next level’ - knowing what you’re capable of and rejecting the idea that you’re defined by your mistakes. Overcoming difficulty can lead to increased self-awareness and, in time, wisdom to help others going through similar situations.”
Higher Power, the album, follows Stapp’s triumphant 2019 album, The Space Between The Shadows, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Current Rock Albums chart and the Billboard Current Hard Music Albums chart; #4 on the Billboard Record Label Independent Current Albums chart; #10 on the Billboard Current Physical Albums chart; and #10 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart, while landing at #3 on the UK’s official Rock and Metal Chart.

This is the third song I've come across with this title - Leaves Eyes and Enemy Inside both released one in 2021 - but this is by far the best!! It's love at first riff for this truly excellent dreamy headbanging slice of Hard Rock. A killer chorus, great guitar hooks, fab melody, it made my day. It's a must-own.

Couldn't agree more. I don't understand it either. He sounds great already and this takes away from it. Makes it feel like I'm listening to pop music. I just got done listening to Higher power and he sounds powerful there naturally. His lyrics and melodies are great as always of course.

Agreed...Doesn't sound like himself. I prefer his deeper soulful voice, not this processed stuff that makes him sound like so many other main stream singers. Scott's voice is unique and smoothe - let Scott be Scott! Don't change what already sounds great! Glad to see him back on his game in full force. Love that Creed is back together too! Hopefully we'll get some new music there as well?!🙏🎙️

It sounds good for sure but he also sounds like Ozzy at times lol. What he's singing and notes trying to hit are higher than normal and it just sounds off. Had the guitarist and bassist been ok with it, they could have just detuned until in a tunation Scott is comfortable in. But as it is ... ALL ABOARD!!!!!!! lol

As hard as it is for me to admit this version of his voice is better than before for me but i think my old prejudice is wtill there because I thought the lyrical content was weak and seemed to have no meaning, kinda like it was written thinking ok what would be a cool next line....empty in my eyes, i think i just dont like this guy.

This is such an awesome song! I so much love his solo albums and songs ❤, but also look forward to a new Creed album if it’s in the works. I’m going to a Creed concert next August, but his solo band will always be wonderful and awesome to me! I look forward to seeing them again (hopefully so many times) also🙏🎶

Apparently they hit the studio and have 8 songs put together. But they have security on all the doors and nobody is allowed in except the band and any of the people involved in the production and recording of the album. They don’t want anyone to hear anything until they’re done. That’s what I read

Scott Stapp has always been an amazing singer. When he left Creed, & Alter Bridge formed, it wasn't the same energy. Myles Kennedy is talented, but he stepped into some big shoes.

I grew up with Creed, fell absolutely in love with Alter Bridge. Ultimately glad to see Mark Tremonti and the rest of the band succeed leaving Scott. Glad to see Scott pull his act together. Must say, the dude CAN sing, the processing effects was a bit too much in this song but the rhythm was superb. I'll admit, if Scott Stapp keeps making more songs like this and Higher Power, I might just actually like him again. Would like to see him yell out more like this in his songs and be less unnecessarily breathy for melodramatic effect.
