I can honestly say that this video right here is one of the best made from you fellas. I’m 28 yrs old and have watched many of the older monster buck videos as well as just about every hunting show on the networks nothing is on this part of the curve. You guys are breaking ice if you know what I mean. It’s one thing to have us normal dudes and gals in the comments and on insta and facebook tell you how great you are. But to have a legend in the industry sit there and compliment you the way he did and to be as impressed as he was, is something to be proud of. I’m 100% positive you will get that same response from every corner of the industry. The future is bright and I cant wait to see what’s next. Never get comfortable and don’t let pressure to produce get to you. As always, KEEP IT UP BOYS!
Thank you for airing this video. It was great to hear and see David Blanton talk about the really early days of video documented hunting. I had almost forgotten how eagerly I would snatch up every new episode of Monster bucks on VHS. I guess over the past 30 years I had become somewhat jaded. This interview took me all the way back to what made hunting so great and such a huge part of my life. David, you were a hero of mine way back then and you still are to this day. Thank you for all that you shared with me and with the rest of the true hunting citizens of this great country. God bless you.
I always enjoy seeing David Blanton because he is always a class act and a genuinely nice guy. The Hunting Public staff reminds me a lot of David’s character and good nature.
I enjoy a lot of TV folks , but it’s something different about David Blanton . Humble, Awesome, and down to earth... He’s a good guy and I’ve enjoyed growing up with him . #LiveActionNation
Gotta say, that was pretty cool! It was really neat to hear David talk about his days coming up as a camera man & how he lugged around that old school camera gear. Awesome!!
This was an amazing interview with a true role model who has inspired so many to get outdoors and partake in the tradition and sport of hunting. Great work guys!
David Blanton has always been my favorite of tv hunting bunch, and I will always love the look of the Old Monster Bucks II style Realtree videos. Thanks guys
Yep, my cousin Micah and me got our fix many a time watching monster bucks and those videos are why Thank you from the Mr. David for always presenting the outdoors is such a humble and realistic way!
I’m a bit late catching this video, but wanted to thank you guys for ALL the great work that THP has done! This interview with David is beyond special!
ABSOLUTELY the best interview you guys have done! David Blanton is one of the most humble and grateful person to walk planet earth. You guys are the best! I live in the Northeast . I only bow hunt and have shot many deer in my days. Your videos have educated me in so many techniques. I started Saddle hunting this year at 56. I hope to live to be 100 to enjoy this sport as long as I can. Maybe someday a Midwest hunt. Keep it up guys! You do Awesome things for our sport!
Really enjoyed this one fellas! I too grew up watching the monster bucks videos and still have the vhs tapes to this day. David was always my favorite to watch, so humble. Great ambassador for all us hunters.
I grew up watching david Blanton his voice brings back memories i have with my grandpa sitting around watching them with him. He filmed my first bow kill because of monster bucks!!! I was 10 years old that was 19 years ago
Guys glad you guys got to do this video , I grew up watching David , Mike, Bill , and Tyler, glad to hear I wasn’t the only one getting my whitetail fix , I use to watch the videos and fletch my arrows and get all my stuff ready for season lol , I repeated this till season started
David Blanton is just a class act. Grew up watching all the monster buck videos and always just loved his attitude and approach of hunting. I was so pumped when I saw this video pop up in my feed cause he has been my favorite hunter since I was a kid just a great interview with great questions. As for you guys at the hunting public, on and off the field you guys are killing it. Each video is better then the last keep up the good work. I can't wait for the turkey tour but I'm even more pumped for deer tour 2019! God bless guys!
Grew up watching David this was a great peek in to his life! Love that he started from the bottom like the rest of us! Side note I live in NW Arkansas in the mountains if you guys end up coming here to turkey hunt again this spring and get in a pinch I'm more then happy to help.
Awesome interview with David!!!! I can still remember waking up on the weekends to watch TNN & Getting Monster Buck VHS’s for Christmas 😁 He seems like a really down to earth guy👍🏻
Awesome video with a true legend in the industry! All your hunts inspire me to work hard and capture my hunts on camera. Up in CT and the north east where me and my team hunt it's very similar to the THP philosophy,on public land with lots of pressure.. Congrats on all your success thus far!!
That was a good interview/ episoide. As David Blanton said the only thing you had back in the day was the outdoor publications. My grandfather was my mentor and he had SportsAfield magizine in the house so every time I went to grandma and grandpa's house I always had something to read about the outdoors. I did however have the privlige of watching the first outdoor show that was on tv and it was The American Sportsman that aired on channel 7 on Saturady ABC. The host was Curt Gowdy and he took this little boy on a 90 minue journey to hunt ducks, geese, phesents and grouse and quail. To fishing for trout, salmon, sail fish and marlin and tuna all on prime time televison back in the late 60s and early 70s. I watched Fred Bear hunt and Lee Wulff fish so I've been blessed to watch the golden age and the new age of outdoor TV happen before my eyes. I hope that you all dont loose sight of what your doing as far as imparting information and how to, on your shows and videos. The entertainment is one thing but keeping it real and relivent and educational is the content that I think that people need the most. David always enjoyed the Real Tree shows and THP boys keep up the good work, the eyes of those who came before you are watching.
I’m a little late seeing this video but man did it bring back some memories. I was just staring high school when Realtree started making videos. I was just staring archery and didn’t have any camo. Then I seen Realtree on Dale Earnhardt’s car. I still have and sometimes use my #3 Realtree hat for archery season and I have every monster buck video to date. Thank you so much for this.
Awesome interview with my favorite hunting personality! Like you guys, I matured as a deer hunter watching (as Jeff Foxworthy called them) “Ben Gordon and them Real-time Boys, Michael Waffle House and David Blandon!” So thrilled to see you guys as the next generation of David Blanton in the industry. I’ve watched every episode this year and feel like I’ve been on every hunt and in the tree with you. Can’t wait for Turkey Tour to start up. Congrats on a great season.
Love the video and the honesty .i grew up watching realtree growing up as well and was always an inspiration to me.watched every Sunday evening.ive hunted state land my entire life NY and pa mostly.get a buck every year.its tough hunting sometimes.keep doing what you guys do.love your videos
Awesome video. Hard not to love how approachable Mr. Blanton is, considering how the industry can be. Y’all come to Arkansas this year and I’ll no doubt put you on public land birds and provide a place for the crew to stay.
What can you say about David Blanton. For those of us that know you know. I don’t think there is a more decent man in the industry period. Have 25 years of memories and knowledge learned from this man. Thank you David for all you have done and for staying true to your core.
Awesome, David is a great guy. And I have to agree with y’all about the turkey hunting in Arkansas, seeing as I live in North Little Rock, centra Arkansas. We are eat up with turkey and deer hunting here. Can’t wait til April to get after a big ol gobbler! Great interview, keep up the good work THP!
Excellent video guys. I've met David an Michael Wadell an had long conversation with Michael an these guys are so down to earth it was like talking to one of your buddy at the hunt club or deer camp. 2 👍👍's up for this video. 👏👏👏👏👏
Great video! I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Loved the idea in the comments below about hunting recruitment with youth. It would be cool to see y'all take a youth on a hunt. May God Bless!
This is an awesome video being able to hear how they did it back then and I’m trying to get my own show started and trying to make it work as a working man and it’s harder than I ever imagined
Okefenokee Swamp... come on guys, you gotta know about this place! A sportsman's dream! We did a 20 mile canoe float there several years ago and caught more bream (bluegill) than I ever thought possible... awesome adventure!
Is it wrong to bing watch this one episode? :) What a great interview! Zach, pretty sure there is nottttttthhhinnng left if that cup you were drinking out of ;)
wow, this brought back a flood of memories I hadn't thought about for a long time. the early monster bucks were it. throw in a Larry fitzgerald and bob foulkrod "down for the count" video........and we have it all. dont forget to watch HS specialties "so you want to be a bowhunter" too!
As an Arkansas boy I can vouch for the size of our deer, the numbers of our migatory birds, and our beautiful turkeys when you can find them on public. Private is the better choice when turkey hunting. And if you are lucky elk and alligator.
I grew up watching Dan FitzGarald with Noal Feather..Bitter Cold Bucks....And the guys that did the Bow Hunting October whitetail videos with I think Gene Wenzel and I can't remember the other guys name..Then I started seeing the Monster Bucks videos with David Blanton...What a great guy..so damn funny too
David Blanton talking about a 180" deer estimated 9 or 10 years old and on his way down. Could you imagine what that deer was in his prime if hes 180 on his way down? My gracious I hunt in the wrong state!
@ 25 min. David The first deer I shot, when I first saw him I also thought it was a dog, So funny hearing you say that, And I believe that was 1985 ish, and it took 7 years for me to get my first deer
Guys working on hunting recruitment with younger hunters maybe have a 12 or 13 year old youth episode . It might be best to do something like that as a trial during the turkey season .
I remember watching Roger Raglin years before any of the others started to come to light. I think that Roger paved the way for so many.

Love it! Legend right there.
The best deer call isn't horns or a grunt tube, it's eating a granola bar, drinking coffee or scrolling Facebook. The yahtze story sounds familiar.
Awesome video guys... P.S. Dont ever get rid of that music at the end of the videos. Its like the Primos theme song, you are always waiting for it🖒🖒
You all should show us your biggest deer you each have killed and the story's behind them.
David Blanton talking about a 180" deer estimated 9 or 10 years old and on his way down. Could you imagine what that deer was in his prime if hes 180 on his way down? My gracious I hunt in the wrong state!
