Cheeka.. My dad used to say the same thing like you. I lost my dad when I was studying 11th std. He says to me, like Enna da modern cricket.. Then I started watching the old videos of these legends. While hearing this, i had many questions on myself.. why I was not born in 1970s to 1980s.. I am playing cricket from 10th std. Enna thaan modern cricket vanthalum, antha mari cricket 80s 90s period mari varavey varathu cheeka.I will show this video to my kid for future too. I watched more than 10times for your words😍Thanks for the beautiful video cheeka.❤️ You reminded me my dad words😭🙏

I remember Marshall had literally terrorised the entire India battling line up in the 84 series.
Imagine what he could do on lively pitches when he wrecked havoc on dead pitches of India
His early demise is deeply felt by all who loved to watch fast bowling
    🙏What a legend!

Thank You Sir..Didn't even skip a second. You took us into those golden days of my all time favorite team.. Still remember seen a few matches where Malcolm Marshal & Holding terrorised opposition..New generation would never able to understand the beauty of Gavaskar who faced these fearsome 4 and got his double hundreds.. As cheeka said, it's either injury or broken bones..The beauty of test cricket at its best. They may not be rich.. But they lived in our minds.. The fiersome 4!!

Fearsome four the best and the most intimidating pace attack ever ....one among many reasons why cheeka Sir is a legend...he faced them without wearing helmet... cricket has changed and its purely a batsman game now...they should bring back bouncy tracks and allow 2 bouncers per over in all format to make the game evenly poised...

Bouncer has to be either Roberts as he had two or garner as like cheeka explained due to the point of release being 12 to 13 feet from just of length he could get the ball to come up at the face which no batsman could anticipate correctly and he could move the ball too which meant the bouncer followed the batsman making it very difficult to play or avoid, to top it imagine that being bowled from around the wicket. Imo Garner

However, their intention was not to bowl good deliveries and get the wicket, but to bowl to render the batsman wounded. That was an ugly trick, lacking any sportsmanship. But, the windies bowlers were really excellent and were not applying any such cheap tactics to get the wicket.

Very good episode. Can't stop laughing. I am also one of the luckiest person to have enjoyed watching the best ever cricket team in the history. It was a complete team. All are specialists in their respective roles. Four fearsome bowlers (Marshall, Robert s, Holding & Garner), specialist openers (Greenidge & Haynes), middle order batsmen (Loyd, Richards & Logie), Wicket keeper (Dujon) & Larry Homes. And Clive Loyd's famous quote....We win by miles or lose by miles.

Ya! I watched in Jan 1975, the Legend Sir Andy Roberts in action at Chepauk ground in person. Admiring, Cool but Menacing, gentle action... The cartwheeling of Karshan Ghavri's stemps to Derrick Murray, the Wicket keeper, still in my eyes. Unforgettable experience of Cricket, the guts, skill and determination of Legend Gundappa Vishwanath scoring unbeaten 97 against the super fast legend's onslaught (seven wickets), the ball was almost invisible. In fact, I was a bit disappointed and tired as I was unable to see the ball. Then guessed it with batsmen's reactions ( mostly miserable). One thing Cheeka they were true cricketers had guts to play WITHOUT HELMET OR HEADGEAR against the jaws of death. Above all NO BIG MONEY.
Thanks a lot for your rewind of smart memories. 👌👍👏😊🙏

    Sir
I remember when Sir Clive layyod had that battery of fast bowlers in his arsenal, an interview of his. He said the best batsman in his opinion to play fast bowlers at that time (I am talking 1983 onwards ) was Mohinder Amarnath. I remember before WC1983 Indian team visited West Indies Mohinder Amarnath was at his best to face that battery of fast bowlers. Can you say something on his(M Amarnath) orthodox stance that he took was that useful?
And then 1983 WC win by India was a game changer and a watershed moment . That day fulcrum of World of Cricket changed. I do not know if we realised it that June 83 day....
Jeffrey Dujon said once that Garner was the difficult to keep behind wickets.
